@User11010866 amazing news and so early!

Thought I had another hour before I started obsessively updating!

Didn't expect so early. DC will take a 3-and-a-half hour BMO2 today from 9:00 am. Luckily, there is no need to wait till the afternoon.

It's a yes to Trinity.

Fabulous! Congratulations to your dc!

Flamingo965 · 24/01/2024 08:43

Long time lurker here!

Wishing I could be as laid back as DS this morning! He struggles to get a signal at school so my wait could be even longer! No idea how I’m going to concentrate on work this morning.

It's a yes to Trinity.

Oh, very well done!

Hmm, that means my nervous "why hasn't DS texted me" wait has already started - I didn't think it would be this early Grin

CatBumJuice · 24/01/2024 08:51

Well done Trinity for getting offers out early. Wish the others would!

fringeofclaudia · 24/01/2024 08:58

Trinity def seem to be quick off the bat- I just looked at The Student Room Cambridge applicants thread and there are quite a few results on there back from Trinity already

DSandDD · 24/01/2024 09:07

Good luck to everyone eagerly waiting on today and congratulations to those who have already heard.

Livingongin · 24/01/2024 09:23

Yes I can see stuff appearing on the student room. Do you think offers and rejections are sent out at the same time. I am wondering if a longer wait is a good or a bad thing.
i am sure that each college does its own thing but trying to manage my nerves

DS' email was later than most of his cohort and so he was sure it was a no - it wasn't, so try not to extrapolate anything from when the emails come in. It is so college specific.

Good luck everyone!

Jaxx · 24/01/2024 09:28

It is a no for my son. Disappointed but relieved to be put out of my misery early.

Hopefully he is as unbothered as he seems - I guess we will find out in the next few days.

losingtheplot999 · 24/01/2024 09:30

Has anyone got the link for the student room offers coming in for this morning?

losingtheplot999 · 24/01/2024 09:35

Thank you.

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 09:35

Sorry to hear that @jaxx but great that DS seems nonplussed.

DD is still in bed and saying “it's not going to be bang on 9.00 Mum!” Think perhaps stalling tactics are at play.

ChnandlerBong · 24/01/2024 09:37

dd is claiming to know she's not get an offer and is fine with that -her behaviour at the weekend tells a different story.

she's said she's not looking until lunchtime 🤔

ShanghaiDiva · 24/01/2024 09:38

It’s a no for dd. The email said she was pooled but none of the other colleges picked her up. She said -I have therefore been rejected by every single college. 🤣🤣 she is not that upset as Bath was always her preferred choice and given her current health issues Cambridge would not be ideal for her at the moment.

Ragdollcharlie · 24/01/2024 09:39

It's a no for my DS as well. I'm so sad for him, but very glad he's got an offer from Durham to take some of the sting away.

Probably oversharing - he had serious health issues when he was younger, and we were very lucky that he survived. So I'm grateful that he's even able to apply for university. Yet still really disappointed for him if that makes sense. He's at school so not spoken to him yet - hope he'll be ok, I'm sure he'll bounce back, he's amazingly resilient.

best of luck to those still waiting and congratulations and commiserations to those who have heard.

ChnandlerBong · 24/01/2024 09:44

@ShanghaiDiva think being pooled should be seen as a massive achievement - she hit the target standard, she was just unlucky that there were too many people who did?

RockaLock · 24/01/2024 09:52

Congrats to all the offers so far, and commiserations to the redirecteds.

I've not heard from DS yet, but I know he has a double free period at 10am, so there is no excuse for him not to be checking his emails then.

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 09:53

Sorry to hear @ShanghaiDiva. Everything happens for a reason! And to @Ragdollcharlie

Sorry to hear that @Ragdollcharlie . As you say your son’s health struggles put this all into perspective but it would have been lovely for him to go. I hope that resilience kicks in well for him and he enjoys Durham.

we are expected a no here for my DC and also not expecting them to let me know promptly esp if it’s a no. So I could be on tenterhooks all blimming day.

I know we could say this about anything in the world right now , Gaza and so on but hearing about those poor beautiful Nottingham students yesterday who should be in their second year right now she are the same year as my eldest DC did give me a sense of perspective.

This is just a university and there are many many others that our DCs will have the chance to attend all being well. Not to bring the thread down and I would certainly love it for my DC to get a place 😃

Bleepbloopbluurp · 24/01/2024 09:54

My DD pooled and not picked up too. Given she applied for 2025 I think it quite amazing that they bothered to pool her! She will try again with grades in hand.

PeanutAndBanana · 24/01/2024 09:58

Last year DD didn't get an email until after midday from her college. It was agony waiting.

prettycosmos · 24/01/2024 09:59

hope those being redirected this morning are holding up OK. Just had a phonecall from dd and she got pooled and offered a place at Jesus college (had applied to Newnham) she so happy. She had siad she wasnt going to check email till she got home at lunchtime but siad she saw it said congratulations in the title! Im so happy for her, and thankfully that means we can all now focus on my dads funeral tomorrow without additional upset.

Oh I am so glad! Congrats to her. What a bright patch to help you through a difficult day.

Congrats to all who have had early yeses and onwards & upwards to those who have had a no. X
