Good Luck everyone.
Bit nervous here but glad that it'll soon be over.
DS in lessons until 10:30 so he thinks he might wait until then to check. I made some joke about "best not to burst into tears in lessons" he smiled and said he won't cry but will be gutted if it's a No. Most unlike him 😬He's pretty balanced. I'm sure he'll pick himself up quickly - just gotta let him lick his wounds.

Juja · 23/01/2024 19:57

Best of luck to all waiting for tomorrow’s results - hope you get some sleep 💤

mondaytosunday · 23/01/2024 21:00

As someone said upthread that their child may say they are sure it's a no and are prepared for that but mood indicates otherwise! Spicy to say the least.
She's due back about 1.30 from college so will find out then. We plan on going to our local café/bakery either way - celebrating or wallowing in what might have been! Meanwhile she's back to scrutinising stats online...

AMuser · 23/01/2024 22:08

Yeah we had a bit of a meltdown here this eve that my DC apologised for afterwards. Defo the stress poor pet. They just want to know now.

Maggiethecat · 23/01/2024 22:39

Sending best wishes to everyone!

DahliaMacNamara · 23/01/2024 23:53

God love yis all. It'll be a tense night. Hoping for good news for you in the morning.

Hertsessex · 24/01/2024 00:11

Best of luck to everyone tomorrow. I'm sure most don't feel this way but seems like it has come along quickly :)

Hertsessex · 24/01/2024 00:16

IThinkIMadeItWorse · 23/01/2024 13:40

Can't believe somebody has analysed this - what a waste of time :)

Jaxx · 24/01/2024 00:20

Best of luck everyone!

Either my son really is fine or he has developed Oscar worthy acting skills. I however seem to have gone a bit crazy. Suggested earlier than he take a gap year, do some travelling in Italy and Greece and apply to Oxford next year. He was not having any of it - he’s going to University in September and that is the end of it and he will actually be a bit relieved if he gets rejected as expected. I swear I was OK until today, but it seems like the wait has finally got to me!

I have permission to obsessively check his UCAS and he’ll find out when he checks his email at some point. Sorry for turning into the stereotypical overinvested mumsnet Oxbridge parent - but least it will all be over soon.

RIPMatthewperry · 24/01/2024 03:54

Just popping on to wish all of the DC applying to C the best of luck (and to the parents!) if I recall last year, some colleges were quite late in letting the students know, so remember, no news can still be good news!

PandaPacer · 24/01/2024 05:55

Morning all, here we go.

I am up (not early! this is my usual time) and sitting on my own in a quiet house thinking about what might happen today. Notwithstanding the hard work, stress, and potential disappointment that my DS has gone through, it has been an interesting experience for us to see what is involved in applying.

My DS is not really under any outward pressue (we hope) as he went into it knowing it was a long shot within minuscule acceptance rates. His school also do not value CompSci as a serious subject so no pressure there for him either.

And if I am honest I enjoyed the fantasy for just a little bit that DS might get in! It's sure been a wild ride.

I hope everyone's day is OK and best of luck to you all, and to your marvellous young people, who will still be just as marvellous tomorrow with or without an offer today. But we know that.

I've packed my morning full of meetings to keep my mind off it - off I go!

stoneysongs · 24/01/2024 06:19

Popping back in to say good luck to the Cambridge lot 🍀
Not long now!

askingnotmasking · 24/01/2024 06:51

I'm late to the forum! Wondered if there was one for us waiting parents. I'm not sure who will be more nervous, me or DD. Good luck to all those waiting.

PettsWoodParadise · 24/01/2024 07:05

Popping on to say good luck, this was DD last year. She heard via UCAS mid morning and her college late evening. She called me from school sobbing and I thought she was trying to say she hadn’t got an offer but she had, she was overwhelmed and sad for some friends who hadn’t got offers so was swimming with emotions. It is a tough day whatever the result. Thinking of you all.

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 07:06

Good luck everyone! Surprisingly I slept relatively well. DD is going to stay home today so at least she will know as soon as she gets the email. What will be will be.

RockaLock · 24/01/2024 07:24

Good luck to everyone today. DS is waiting for his natsci decision, but is not at all hopeful.

Livingongin · 24/01/2024 07:34

Snap @RockaLock

not at all hopeful here but I know he will be bitterly disappointed.

I know whatever I say will be wrong

he’s on a school trip today as well so there will be no escape.

Fatbottomed · 24/01/2024 07:40

I have been following this thread, my Dd is waiting to hear about law. Good luck to all today x

RockaLock · 24/01/2024 07:47

I said "good luck" as he left for school, and he looked a bit puzzled and then said "oh yeah, I forgot". Grin

Redhotchillipeppers · 24/01/2024 07:56

My DS has made plans to go out after school today with other students waiting on C offer today. He’s just told me - that’s our plans for going out for a family meal out of the window. Oh well.

User11010866 · 24/01/2024 07:58

It's a yes to Trinity.

Redhotchillipeppers · 24/01/2024 08:02

Congratulations 🥳

fringeofclaudia · 24/01/2024 08:02

oh wow @User11010866 an offer already, that's early! Congratulations! I really hope dd keeps checking and updates me, it's going to take all my willpower today not to log onto her emails or UCAS!!

Jaxx · 24/01/2024 08:06

@User11010866 amazing news and so early!

Thought I had another hour before I started obsessively updating!

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 08:13

Congrats @User11010866. Nice to have it early! DD isn’t even up yet. I think I’ll give her until 9.00.
