DS has had an unconditional offer from Strathclyde for Politics and IR. He's waiting on Glasgow as well but I have a feeling he may not get an offer. We are RUK and he's applied with grades in hand. Not too worried about Glasgow as he's very happy with Strathclyde and will probably end up firming it anyway (these are his only 2 applications).

Calmmumnot · 12/12/2023 23:01

@Tenpastseven Good news here too, Nottingham offer came through tonight. DD very happy.

Congratulations!

Lifechange2023 · 15/12/2023 17:16

Southampton, Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle came through quickly. Bristol didn’t offer until about Easter time

Unconditionals from Stirling and Dundee have been received very quickly.

Hoping that Aberdeen won’t take too long as that’s his preferred. I think he’ll properly relax when/if that one comes in.

Edinburgh and St Andrews were HUGE long-shots as a Scottish student, so we’ll just wait and see (but fingers crossed because he would be over the moon).

Calmmumnot · 19/12/2023 13:27

Exeter just came through!!

Wonderful news @Calmmumnot was that the one he wanted?

Calmmumnot · 19/12/2023 14:01

@zigzag716746zigzag very keen in Exeter but wanting to hear from Kings … anyone heard from them?

Congratulations! DD has unconditional from Aberdeen Strathclyde and Dundee, conditional from Glasgow and just now waiting on St Andrews

zigzag716746zigzag · 19/12/2023 19:55

@StoorieHoose do you mind me asking how long Aberdeen took, and what her grades were? DS’s application has only been in for a week but he is very impatient!

Good luck for St Andrews. Keeping fingers crossed for her.

Think it was 10 days after her application. She has AAABB in hand and ABC predicted

She is considering Aberdeen as her insurance with Glasgow as firm but we didn't get up to the Aberdeen open day due to the bad weather and train cancellations so hope to make it up on an offer holder day

Hope he hears soon

Has anyone applied and heard back from KCL on War Studies?

OP posts:
Poblano · 20/12/2023 13:33

DD is waiting for LSE, Warwick, Exeter, Bath and York.

We're anticipating LSE taking a long time.

Calmmumnot · 20/12/2023 15:38

@Poblano when did you apply?

OP posts:
Poblano · 20/12/2023 15:51

This week, so early days yet. She's my third DC to go to university and I know from experience some probably won't come through for months.

Calmmumnot · 20/12/2023 16:01

@Poblano good luck to your DC! Apart from LSE, I think the others are offering already. Mine applied on 7/12 and heard back quickly from two.

HewasH2O · 20/12/2023 20:13

Speaking from previous experience, KCL are very slow to offer. Don't be surprised if you don't hear until April. Has your DD read right down to the very bottom of her email from Exeter. They used to sneak in the odd scholarship offer if you made them first choice.

GuestWW · 21/12/2023 12:35

Politics & IR offers in this house for Bath, Exeter and UWE. Waiting on Bristol but reasonably relaxed YP (stressed mother) as Bath is favourite and offer below predicted.

zigzag716746zigzag · 21/12/2023 15:16

Edinburgh and St Andrews have each sent DS 2-3 emails in the last couple of days “to say happy Christmas”. The poor soul, his heart is in his mouth every time he gets a mail 😅

Darrellstclares · 30/12/2023 10:27

DC has applied for International Relations, to Exeter, St Andrews, Durham, Edinburgh, Bristol.

We’re in England, and whilst we went to Scottish unis, were concerned about (a) 4 years vs 3 years worth of fees, and (b) constant rumours about how many RoUK applications are considered vs Scottish and O/S applicants. But they had their heart set.

They have heard from Exeter, Bristol and St Andrews. Edinburgh probably favourite, and also least likely…

good luck to everyone on here!

Calmmumnot · 02/01/2024 10:21

Good luck to all as the Admissions departments reopen. Have a nervous child waiting…

OP posts:
GuestWW · 02/01/2024 10:47

Also waiting on Cambridge, although DC feels they screwed up the interview... just three weeks of mocks to get to before that decision arrives.

Calmmumnot · 02/01/2024 11:13

@GuestWW good luck!!

Tenpastseven · 02/01/2024 12:07

Are grades in hand @Darrellstclares ?
