A levels 2023 - Results day and beyond

Hi all. I thought I’d make a new thread as the countdown one is filling up.
Results day is here and I’m sure we will all value each others support, today and for the next stage of their journeys.

DD got into first choice but no grades yet!

DD got her university acceptance email - paramedic science at BCU - at 7.45 but doesn’t want to read the grades by email so she’s going in to college at 9am to open the envelope with her friends. Yesterday was horrible, she was so very anxious, so I’m very relieved for her ❤️

We are confused here - got an email saying Edinburgh are still deciding and then on UCAS when we finally got on:

E56 has confirmed your place to study...... Congratulations

Please someone confirm she is in!?!

She has just had her results through from the school and is refusing to look at them til school at 9.

Absolutely gutted for DS. He’s in his firm choice which he didn’t want (long story!) but got a very unexpected B in his best subject (the one he is doing at Uni). Today was supposed to be trying to get into Loughborough and now he has no chance.

She did it! No idea of results yet but email from my DDs first choice confirming her place and UCAS says yes!

DS e-mail went to junk. He’s into his first choice, just had e-mail

Got a U in one maths unit (had said it was dire when sat it) but did well enough in the other units that she got an overall B.

DD has her first choice offer and smashed her biology which she was super stressed about. Still, that's 2 down.....2 more A level results days to come!!!

DS made his offer exactly so is in 🎉. He was hoping for more but big sigh of relief here. He has been looking at the grade boundaries and they have got tougher as expected.

Daughter not dependent on results as doing Art Foundation next year snd for her degree it's down to the portfolio. But she's thrilled
A star across the board including EPQ. 196/200 for History, and her teacher was predicting a B until last minute!

She got grades that exceeded her offer and finally got a confirmation on UCAS. Such a relief. And her best friend did as well so they can celebrate together

Ds got grades for first choice Goodwick everyone 😁.

Dort smashed it. 3 x A plus A in EPQ. English and creative writing at UEA confirmed. I'm delighted for her.

DD has got into her firm choice, she is now getting ready to collect her results. She is feeling very relieved.

So proud of my son. He is dyslexic and didn't really learn to read fluently until he was 11. He was home educated until the end of his GCSEs and then went to our local school 6th form, his first time in formal education, to study for 4 A levels. I am so proud of him. He got Maths A, Further Maths A, Physics A*, Computer Science A. So he's going to Durham university to study Maths.

Mine after much refreshing got an email saying he got his first choice, MEng at a top RG school ... sooooo relieved.

DD into her first choice. MFL & business at Newcastle, exceeded her expectations. Happy tears here!

DD1 got her first choice - couldn't get on UCAS webpage but got an e-mail - so she's pleased.

Still can't get on the college page to get results - which is getting annoying as DH need to be off to his Uni for clearing day to man the department as they're expecting a lot of movement - but she knows where she is going.

Phew, got the firm offer. He’s off to UCL. One grade above and one below the requirements so he’s both pleased and slightly disappointed!

Ds didn't get what he needed for his apprenticeship. I'm absolutely gutted for him.
He has no other plan. He's going to try and contact them today and beg although he has no contact details of who to get in touch with.
He didn't get a c on maths so I think it will be a no.
He's so clever, and would be brilliant at the apprenticeship, but just is rubbish at exams.

Very worried about DD’s girlfriend - they have been holed up in the bedroom since Dd got her firm. I know GF didn’t get the course she wanted but it seemed as if they were offering another at that uni. Went up to check but got a teenage “not now” from DD. Hope she’s ok as she’s had a really shit hand in life. She needs some good news.

Are you sure he can’t try and swap through clearing? I’d double check with someone knowledgeable.
