Hi all. I thought I’d make a new thread as the countdown one is filling up.
Results day is here and I’m sure we will all value each others support, today and for the next stage of their journeys.

cptartapp · 17/08/2023 06:50

Hopping over.

GivingItAWhirl · 17/08/2023 06:50

Checking in!

toomuchlaundry · 17/08/2023 06:53

Good luck everyone.

I am an emotional wreck after having about 3 hours sleep! DS still in bed.

Worrying about him not doing well and then worrying about being an empty nester if he has done well 😳

Fifireee · 17/08/2023 06:55

Stressed.
What does it mean if I search dd’s chosen course and when I find it it says N/A rather than how many point? Sorry stressed and dim.
I am so proud of how hard she worked. I just want her to be happy.

Righttherights · 17/08/2023 06:56

Awake since 5 with migraine from the stress of it. Meanwhile DS out for count and last night seemed more interested in clubbing this evening!

troppibambini6 · 17/08/2023 06:57

Checking in too... I too am sat silently with the dog this is awful.

KittyMcKitty · 17/08/2023 06:58

Me too!

Hopping over to say thanks to @HereWeGo2023 for being quick off the mark with a new thread. Good luck again to everyone - this anticipation has made me wonder how the families of the Lionesses are feeling about Sunday! (Good luck to them too, at least they won't have to wait for 7 weeks after the match to find out the result 😆⚽️ )

Titsywoo · 17/08/2023 07:00

Dd is up now and her boyfriend is 20 mins away on the bus (he was at scout camp last night and got up at 5am to travel across London to be with her as she gets her results). Feeling massively nervous for her and dreading her missing out her firm as she'll be gutted. She woke to an email from her psychology teacher saying well done on a fantastic set of results which her half awake brain took to mean she has done well but then realised it is to the whole class! Argh time is moving both too fast and too slow!

halfthesun · 17/08/2023 07:00

Could not sleep. DS so chilled ... says he will just do something else if doesn't get grades plus changed his mind last night about which university due to the fact Cardiff has accommodation with an en suite Confused

Same here. DS said yesterday afternoon “great news” - so I thought maybe his chosen course was showing in clearing with reduced requirements or something. But no - the “great news” was that he’d secured a friend’s ID for clubbing tonight (he’s not 18 till next week)!

Titsywoo · 17/08/2023 07:00

Oh and good luck to all your dc!

AlwaysFreezing · 17/08/2023 07:01

Christ on a bike. Roll on 8.

Plus I'm a teacher of A level economics and have 66 other youngsters to think of Brew

I could have written this post!

I'm having an early bath, everyone else is still asleep.

Good luck to you all.

Feeling exactly the same. My anxiety is through the roof with all these things in the news about lower grades this year. Feel sick to my stomach and don’t even want to imagine how crushed he’s going to feel if things don’t go his way. Doesn’t matter how many times I tell him that I’m proud of him, whatever his grades are, I know he’ll beat himself up terribly and I’m also trying to pretend to myself that my youngest isn’t leaving for uni very soon. I’m going to be a basket case when the time comes.

mum11970 · 17/08/2023 07:02

Good luck everyone 🤞

Sssudio · 17/08/2023 07:02

Sat here drinking tea with DS, we’ve both been up since 6. For many years I worked in Admissions being the decision maker and would have been braces for the phone to start ringing, it’s awful being in the other side.

He is so chill, I am not as regular I don’t doubt his intellect I am no idea on his capacity for public exams, having never had to take them before.

DD getting her gcse results next week, hope to get some down time in between!

Best of luck to everyone

flotsomandjetsome · 17/08/2023 07:02

For schools that have in person results ... Do the teachers actually know the results before the kids, I mean someone has to put the results sheets in the envelopes!?

halfthesun · 17/08/2023 07:03

@MumblesParty Thank you for making me smile! Wonderful that they aren't stressed and thinking about parties and having their own bathroom - think we worry enough in their behalf. As always just want them to be happy Daffodil

DinkyDaisy · 17/08/2023 07:03

Ds still in bed.
I have my aching nervous fingers thing going on and an upset stomach!
His Insurance in clearing...

DisforDarkChocolate · 17/08/2023 07:03

I feel the same about the lack of formal exams @Sssudio.

Marmalade71 · 17/08/2023 07:03

Best of luck everyone. We're a year beyond you so just stepping in to say stay calm in front of your DCs and use here for any angst.
But I hope angst won't be needed!!
