Following on from the A level support thread I thought I would create one for results day.
Hopefully you will all join me for the long nail biting wait and the big day at the end of it!

Thank you @HereWeGo2023 for the thread.

cptartapp · 14/06/2023 07:18

I'm in.

kidstaxidriver · 14/06/2023 07:18

Sounds good!

mondaytosunday · 14/06/2023 07:19

Ha me too!

Strugglingtodomybest · 14/06/2023 07:24

When is it? August sometime?

AfingeroffudgeisNOTenough · 14/06/2023 07:26

Checking in, although DD still has 9 days to go. Then it’s the long wait until 17th August for results, and for us, 30th August for CAO offers - those two weeks are going to be proper squeaky bum timeConfused

Jagsy · 14/06/2023 07:30

Me too pls. 😬mine has exams until Tuesday then the long wait…

I'll join - it's going to be a long summer!

cingolimama · 14/06/2023 08:06

I'm in. DD had her final exam yesterday, and now we have a loooooong summer ahead. I wish I wasn't, but I'm full of anxiety.

lastdayatschool · 14/06/2023 08:06

Time for the best summer of our DCs' lives 😀☀️😎

ineedaholiday03 · 14/06/2023 09:05

I’m in. A levels are done and now the long wait. DD needs pretty high grades for her first choice uni.

PacificState · 14/06/2023 09:42

Bookmarking. Hope those of you whose DC have finished are feeling relaxed!

kackle · 14/06/2023 09:49

Book marking.

dd still has four exams to go and last one is 23/6.

I am anxious already about her results, its going to be a long wait till 17/8.

ladydiggins · 14/06/2023 10:01

I'm in. DD currently in her penultimate exam - last one on Monday.

She will be abroad visiting her grandparents (and extended family) on results day.

mondaytosunday · 14/06/2023 12:16

I might have mentioned this on the last thread. My daughter's school will publish results on the school portal - no need to go in, though of course teachers will be there in case things don't go to plan.
My daughter feels a bit cheated - she imagined all of them ripping open their envelopes together (and perhaps jumping in the air as per all the newspaper front pages)! How are other schools doing it?

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 14/06/2023 12:24

It’s going on the portal here too. A bit of an anticlimax but I guess gives them privacy in case of bad news. They can always meet their mates a bit later to celebrate or commiserate.

HereWeGo2023 · 14/06/2023 07:31

17th August

Thanks!

DS had his last exam this morning and is out celebrating now. Oh to be young again!

littlemissdizzy00 · 14/06/2023 12:28

Our school is collection in person, much nicer and a more personal feel than online.

PacificState · 14/06/2023 12:31

DS2's school asks them to go in - I think they have to have parents' permission not to go in, actually. Again I guess the school wants them to get in-person advice if the results aren't as expected. Means nail-biting at home for me though.

toomuchlaundry · 14/06/2023 12:36

DS’s school you go in. But only small Sixth Form. They have given details of how Clearing works and have options ready if required. I guess it’s good to be prepared (if a little depressing!) DS has wide gap between grades required for Firm (very high) and Insurance. He liked both courses but really wants his Firm choice, fingers crossed he gets them (mixed feelings about exams taken so far though) but at least his Insurance is somewhere he would be happy with too (although I am sure there will be disappointment if doesn’t get his Firm choice)

cptartapp · 14/06/2023 14:04

Still five exams to go for DS. Four of them next week. Then he's off to the British Grand Prix for three days, back for twenty four hours and then off to Italy with friends for a month.
After losing out on so much in recent years they so deserve it.

lastdayatschool · 14/06/2023 14:04

DS can get them online, from the exam board website or go into school.

The key thing though is that UCAS update the hub very early, as to whether DC have got into firm, insurance or are in clearing; so there's a good chance they'll know this information before their actual grades.

yoyo1234 · 14/06/2023 15:29

That's great to know @lastdayatschool . So useful to know. At ds's offers holder day they said if you don't get the grades contact the uni ASAP, so then if (fingers crossed not required) we can know early.
