Many many congratulations @Rinkkk’s dd

kackle · 31/01/2023 16:40

Great news. Well done

Pip4764 · 31/01/2023 17:07

@Rinkkk well done! 👏

NewMinouMinou · 31/01/2023 17:24

Well done everyone. It's such a slog and DS hasn't even started yet, really.

He's about to start on a covering letter for work experience. Thankfully, we're in a city with a teaching hospital and we have a few medical bods in our social circle/family.

He's already been working in the village pub for almost 18 months (he was 16 last October) and loves it and tomorrow he'll be volunteering in the local warm space (teacher strike) so that's a fairly decent CV already

What does he need to put in his covering letter? Other than motivations for wanting to do medicine etc, that is.

Many thanks

Has Leicester started making place offers or are we talking about interview offers?

mumsneedwine · 31/01/2023 18:23

Place offers. Well done @Rinkkk , fantastic news. One of mine got one too. The trickle has started 😊

Africa2go · 31/01/2023 18:26

@kk10 offers for places - seems to be the people who were interviewed very early (start of December) but exciting to see them come in!

kk10 · 31/01/2023 18:49

@Africa2go thanks for clarifying. Our DS had his interview three weeks ago

Cratos · 31/01/2023 19:02

@mumsneedwine and @Monkey2001
Thanks for the bathroom caddy advice. 🥰

@NewMinouMinou

I see there is already a thread for 2024 Medicine entry, with people at the same stage as your DS - it might be helpful: www.mumsnet.com/talk/higher_education/4704552-medicine-2024-entry

Fab news @Rinkkk and @kackle , @mumsneedwine and also those who had Scottish offers last week…it’s so exciting to see offers coming in. Fingers crossed for all the DCs!!

mumsneedwine · 01/02/2023 14:36

Woo hoo 🍾. Just to be clear, I have 25 kids involved this year (junta in case I mention lots of offers 😂). My own DD is a 5th year.

opoponax · 01/02/2023 14:39

Congratulations to your DD @kackle. It's great hearing about offers.

Hope you get to open 25 of them.

Or even 100 if they each got four offers 🤣.

UnclearNuclear · 01/02/2023 16:25

Well done on the new offers! I want them to get on with dealing with the rest of them now. Though I know some are still on hold/awaiting interviews etc.

Monkey2001 · 01/02/2023 17:02

Sounds really good 😀Hope they don't get all the offers in the short span of time. 😂

mumsneedwine · 01/02/2023 17:33

I'm quite looking forward to all the offers ! My liver less so.

Pip4764 · 01/02/2023 18:23

@mumsneedwine good luck with all the wine drinking 😂

opoponax · 01/02/2023 18:33

I think maybe it should be a bottle of gin for each offer @mumsneedwine 🍸🍸😂
