New thread for us, lots of lovely support whilst we wait. Some of our lovely DC now have interview dates whilst the rest of us hold our breath and try not to hassle our teens into checking their SPAM folders at least several times per day .

No, DC has not taken any entrance exams at all. The Bath offer is AAA, with the A in maths or further maths. Maybe they get a lower offer if they've sat a maths aptitude exam of some kind, or STEP?

Thats so funny....DD is on TSR Bath forum so they could always 'meet up' there! She had a lovely email from Bath this morning congratulating her on her offer and the strength of her application, I read it as they have realised how brilliant she is, in reality its a generic email they send out to all applicants

DD has been given an interview for Downing at C. Whatever happens, it is really nice to be given that opportunity. If the interview doesn’t go well, it wasn’t the place for her, and I hope she will see that.

Lots of tears here and so lovely to know one way or another. Looks like they are running behind and have given her a date between 7th-17th dec but wanted to inform her today. Bloody hell I am thrilled even if she doesnt get in to have a shot is fab. Hope those still waiting hear soon this has been tense x

I haven't posted on Mumsnet for a few years however, my DD has applied to study Maths and Computer Science at Worcester College, Oxford and she is waiting to hear about interview. Just thought I'd join this lovely group of people :) My DD has also applied to Imperial and Bath, these are her top choices. It's a long shot but you never know :)

We were literally bouncing around the lounge! I was so hoping I would be with her when it came and bloody hell we were chatting in the kitchen DD refreshing her emails then she was screaming....shes not the dramatic type you see

DS applying for MEng. Has an offer from Bath and Bristol and waiting to hear from Cambridge and Imperial for Interviews. He has all A/A at GSCE and predicted 4 A. He says the engaa was a lot of educated guessing so could have gone either way. He sees Cambridge as a long shot but has his heart set on Imperial. He thinks the placement test went well, but didn't get a result as some others here seem to have had. We've heard last year they didn't offer interviews until after January.

It is killing me. I am super cool with him and delighted about Bath and Bristol.

Now, he also says he might take a year off because his girlfriend has decided not to apply this year.....so that in another issue. We are sitting on this now and hoping good uni just say "no". I've let him know he'll have to work full time and be expected to pay into the house. His brother is only two years behind and I want to reduce the years we're paying double uni top-ups. Even if he doesn't go to uni next year, any money we'd spend on him next year will go in a savings account.

DS has applied to MEng at Imperial but it's specifically aeronautical eng and it was a separate entrance test for that. They did get to find out their results straight after it. He has his interview on Friday, but I think for other courses they will probably come later.

What lovely news @TangoWhiskyAlphaTango - still waiting here for news from Oxford re Modern Languages. I've been doing some mock interviews for students at her school applying to Cambridge and that's been interesting.

DD got an interview invite from St Johns (C) for Maths yesterday! 2nd week of dec.

much relief to get through the first stage - although I think C interview a high percentage for maths, then the maths entrance papers (STEP) are sat in June just after A levels finish 😭 😭😭😭

She has 2 interviews, both with 2 interviewers - one on pure, one on applied.
