New thread for us, lots of lovely support whilst we wait. Some of our lovely DC now have interview dates whilst the rest of us hold our breath and try not to hassle our teens into checking their SPAM folders at least several times per day .

DS rushed in to drop his violin home at lunchtime, I had to bite my tongue really hard to see if he'd checked his email!

@Genegenieee It seems mad to me that they interview before the STEP and that STEP is so late, in the application process it just prolongs the agony.

@Panicmode1 - I bit my tongue yesterday until DD was back, and I was back. Then tried to nonchalantly ask had she heard anything - oh yeah, I got an interview. She had not texted! It's not as if she's been super casual about it either, quite anxious. Fingers crossed you hear soon, id gotten to the point where I thought all was lost.

@cosmiccat - I know, it's horrible timing and any offer is conditional on A levels and STEP

I'm trying to distract myself while DS is having his Imperial interview upstairs over Zoom. I wish I couldn't overhear it, it's making me so nervous!!! I'm trying to work, he's kicked me out of the spare room where I normally WFH and is using my big whiteboard..

DS just got invited to for interviews at C for Engineering. He had found the Engaa very difficult (and he doesn't have a set of perfect GCSEs), so he's very happy to get the opportunity to interview.

Fingers crossed for everyone else!!

Ds has a C interview! Compsci at Emmanuel. Completely thrilled and genuinely surprised now. Also just a trace of 'oh no' that the suspense continues... but so happy that he's got the opportunity.

My DS is a toad. He's been home for an HOUR and didn't tell me that he also got an engineering interview (Downing) and found out at school this afternoon.....

@TangoWhiskyAlphaTango and @TerrifiedandWorried so very pleased to hear your news. I'm afraid it turned out as I expected and it was a rejection for DS. Hey ho, it was always going to be a stretch and he knew that. He wanted to give it a spin but I think tbh his heart lies elsewhere, so not crushed. I will lurk if that's ok and cheer your DC on. Not meant to be here, but after three times of going through this it's something of a relief to be able to put down the burden of it early this time!
