@OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea I'm glad you said that. I was worried me recollection was all wrong! Pre Internet, there was almost no info. I had a date and a big time window to tune up in and that was it!

Can anyone tell me what the shared rooms (Trevs) are like? I am assuming two beds and two desks but is it two of everything? Wardrobe? Sink?? Are the rooms bigger? Trying to find shared rooms on YouTube but not loads of success yet.

Does anyone know Aidans have sent out anything welcoming freshers or whether there are there any group chats. Thanks

@hanghang DD went onto Facebook ( not a big user!) and saw a groupchat for her college on there. She then got onto a subject groupchat from there? Sorry cant be more specific. There’s also a freshers page for her college somewhere with all the listings for freshers week ( again apologies, could be Facebook or instagram…. Social media is alien to me)maybe there’s similar for Aidans?

@LeiatheSchnauzer I'd hope they've been updated since I was there but imagine the basics are still the same, so until someone comes along with a reply from this century the rooms are bigger, almost double in size. Two beds, two wardrobes (which had hanging space and shelving, quite generous in size), two bedside tables with a couple of drawers. One sink. We also used to have wall shelving for books and files, can't recall off there was one or two sets in a double room. Possibly one.

@LeiatheSchnauzer @GoTrevs I recall reading somewhere that double rooms contained two of everything except for the sink, so no change since your time.

Another sharer here. Bit of an unwelcome surprise. Guess they just have no space. But like chopc don't care now. Also suddenly an email announcing need to be there by the latest 7.30 /7.45 am. No choice given. This is a day and a half earlier than the original email said. So, now in midst of hotel panic with the rest of you and prospect of what will be 9 hour Friday drive as roads in SE all jammed anyway on Fridays. According to DC one parent allowed up to the bedroom but both can enter college grounds for a look around the outside. Only

Becoming impossible to plan any travel arrangements. Still no move in day from Stephenson. Was told we would hear ‘early Sept’. Siblings/work all so up in the air. We are 6 hours away - so not like we can just pop up there!

I echo your sentiments @Braveheart35 beyond frustrated .

To the Durham sharers at Trevs are you sure it is for a whole year? Pre-Covid when I had a relative there (graduated about 5 years ago) they moved rooms every term and only had to share for 1 term out of the 3.

@Dazeddaisy goodness that’s an early slot!
When my dd moved in last year, we ended up driving up the night before and staying over. My dd’s accommodation was a last minute change and they then sent the time slot for a different hall. So in that last week we’d been sent three different time slots and locations!

Edinburgh have put bunk beds in a normal sized halls room & students expected to share!

@cloudyrain my dd has been allocated a single room and believes that she will not have to move her room at the end of every term. If this is the case I would guess that the sharers would also not move.

We've got 2pm on Sunday - which isn't great as I have to get back to London the same day as I cannot take time off from work on Monday. We know that we have single occupancy non ensuite room (st Cuths) but no real guidance about what we actually do when we get to Durham yet.

@Meery @cloudyrain I'm not sure - we've also been allocated a single room but attention is drawn to a clause indicating may require room changes at the college's discretion.
