Following on from our previous thread.

Good luck to all DC awaiting results and university places.

School question: Is it only the SLT and the Exams Officer(s) who get to see the results today?

Are all the DC still asleep?

I'm going to wake DD at 7....

Empra123 · 15/08/2019 06:19

Yes mine is still asleep. And unlikely to wake before I wake her. I was instructed to wake her at 8.30!! Her logic being that Ucas is bound to crash at 8. I can sort of see her point but her twin and I are clearly far more twitchy than she is.

Cherryblossomandcornflakes · 15/08/2019 06:20

Mine doesn't want to be woken til 8....it is going to be a long couple of hours. She doesn't want to get any emails or messages (eg a rejection from firm) until track officially opens in case she gets only half the story. Wise enough but at this stage Id happily accept any info....

Morning all !! Checking in for duty !

2919HereWeGo · 15/08/2019 06:25

Good morning all!!
Asleep here too, I'm not allowed to wake so listening for creaking floorboards and counting down to 8am .....
Almost there.
Good luck to all DC !

Itscoldouthere · 15/08/2019 06:26

I’m awake but not expecting DS to appear till 8am.
Good luck to everyone

Laniakea · 15/08/2019 06:27

Morning!

Leaving for school at 7:30, can get results from 8:40 - stopping to get remark cash in the way hohoho (school only take cash or cheque ffs). Little sleep, dropped my phone in the bath & broke a tooth last night. Joy abounds.

Cherryblossomandcornflakes · 15/08/2019 06:29

How, just how, is it that all the kids are sleeping while the mums are all awake?

TravellingSpoon · 15/08/2019 06:31

I'm awake and I can hear DS is up. He has a firm offer but has decided to change subject so will need to go through clearing. All of the three local unis he applied to for his first choice have his secind choice degree in clearing so I am hopeful but still beyond nervous for him. Because of his AS he does so badly under the stress of exams. Much lower than he is capable of.

Mustbetimeforachange · 15/08/2019 06:32

DS said I can wake him at 7 but it doesn't sound as though track has updated yet or emails coming through so he might as well sleep. Horrid restless night for me.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 15/08/2019 06:38

Morning everyone. Hardly slept a wink last night, so although I didn't drink any alcohol I'm feeling a bit fuzzy headed.

DS still asleep. Just checked Track - not updated yet. He's thinking he won't go in until he has looked at it but may still be none the wiser once he has. I think this will delay his whole morning if he needs to be on the phone to Clearing though.

A* A A - SO relieved and proud. DS worked so hard in some difficult circumstances and really deserves these results

RedHelenB · 15/08/2019 06:40

Shout out to Liverpool uni who have put dd2 out of her misery with a 6 30 email Congratulating her on her results and confirming her place

minesawine · 15/08/2019 06:45

My DS has just got a text from NTU saying he got a place. YAAAAAYYY. I have happy tears. It has been a tough journey. Good luck everyone

Cherryblossomandcornflakes · 15/08/2019 06:48

Well done to Mine, Red and Lavelle! That's marvellous news!

Cherryblossomandcornflakes · 15/08/2019 06:49

Sorry Labelle my phone corrected. Those are amazing results!

RonnieScotts · 15/08/2019 06:51

Congratulations and welcome to the University of Liverpool!

^ email received 6.30am!

We are all emotionally drained but so proud!

2gorgeousboys · 15/08/2019 06:51

Congratulations to those that have already heard and good luck to everyone else. A similar thread kept me sane last year with DS1. I went him with him at 8:30 and we had a wobble as he'd dropped one grade but got an unexpected A in another subject so had an anxious wait to
see if he'd get his place.

You all have my sympathies. I'm Chair of Governors at DS1s school and went in yesterday for a briefing. Other than me and the exams officer only the Head and SLT have seen the results. Last year I just had a vague briefing as I didn't want to know DS1s results or be able to infer anything from what I was being told.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 15/08/2019 06:52

Thanks - he’s applying to uni after results so it gives him a really good choice.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 15/08/2019 06:53

Yay, well done to your DC @minesawine, @RedHelenB and @LaBelleSauvage123.

DS got up to go to the loo and has gone back to bed for a bit. No emails/texts for him as yet. Hope that's not a portent.

MrsEricBana · 15/08/2019 06:54

Good news!!!!! Well done. DS still snoring and though he'll be able to see UCAS track from 8am that doesn't unduly help us as he needs to see his actual grades at school from 10am for various reasons. The wait continues. Good luck all!

FrameyMcFrame · 15/08/2019 06:54

Music grade boundaries.

TravellingSpoon · 15/08/2019 06:54

DS has had a message from NTU to say he has a place. Now just hoping he can change. We'll done to all of those who already know.

FrameyMcFrame · 15/08/2019 06:54

AQA

MiddleForDiddle · 15/08/2019 06:58

Dd got her place at Newcastle! Her results came through at 6am. I've been up since 3.30 as I couldn't sleep. She's debating whether to go through adjustment for Loughborough as she has the grades needed for her course (ABB)

So so pleased! Good luck for everyone else waiting 🍀
