Looks like we need a new thread.

I can't wait either.

Rest day tomorrow before another step. I think we both agree that we wish it was tomorrow so it could just be done with.

Good luck to all

DS's head is swirling a bit. He's honestly done nothing but work since he managed to have dinner with his GF on Friday. If this is what he is like now - what's he going to be like at University? I suggested they could maybe go wild and have dinner again tomorrow but I was met with a Very Stern Look

Chemistry tomorrow and then a bit more maths next week. I'll be glad when it's over

STEPmum18 · 19/06/2018 22:08

Ds liked C3 today. He has a day off tomorrow and then STEP 3 on THursday and C4 on Friday. Something else next Monday (Further pure I think?) and that's it. Glad today went well as it might put him in a better frame of mind for STEP.

HesMyLobster · 19/06/2018 22:42

DD managed to finish the C3 paper! Hooray!
Another French exam tomorrow (hopefully it will go more smoothly than Monday's listening paper did! Confused)
Then a day off before C4 on Friday - then she's finished!
She's definitely seeing the light at the end now, especially with C3 out of the way!

YippeeTeenager · 19/06/2018 23:25

Well done STEP and Lobster, DD thought C3 was OK too. Last chemistry paper tomorrow morning, C4 on Friday and then it’s over and we can fall in a heap on the floor and not move for a week! Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/06/2018 08:15

I hope today goes really well :)

jaguar67 · 20/06/2018 08:33

Last Chemistry here too this morning and then C4 on Friday (the one she's dreading, something about a comprehension?!). Mood has lifted significantly since the weekend, when the knowledge of so many having already finished, was really getting her down.
Good luck to everyone with exams still to go xx

Lucycat · 20/06/2018 08:44

Good luck to all the scientists and mathematicians still ploughing on through. As an English/Geog/Classics student DD is now finished - as of yesterday. We now are on diversionary mode until results.
She has her leaver's prom in the city in a couple of weeks then lots of press for festivals oh and she can tidy her room and free the house from revision notes 😂

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/06/2018 17:36

Well done to your dd Lucycat!

STEP 3 tomorrow. Good luck to fellow sufferers.

STEPmum18 · 20/06/2018 18:39

So if tomorrow's STEP paper is the one that DS thinks will be dreadful, why has he been playing on a computer game for large parts of today?! I think he is in denial. If he doesn't think about it, it might go away!
Seriously though, good luck to all DC (and parents) who still haven't finished. It's been a long process hasn't it?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/06/2018 22:15

I encouraged dd to relax all day today, it worked til bedtime, then she got very anxious and convinced she will fail.

YippeeTeenager · 20/06/2018 22:34

Wishing you the very best of luck STEPmum and Kitten for Step3 tomorrow. Chemistry was OK today here so now we are just waiting on C4 on Friday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/06/2018 22:43

Thank you :)

YippeeTeenager · 20/06/2018 22:51

Just saw your post on the year 13 thread Kitten. I’m sure sometimes they just need to release their anxiety so they can go in to the next exam feeling calmer and more focused. It’s not easy when you’re bearing the brunt of it but I really hope your DD feels better in the morning (and that you get some sleep). Sounds like you’re doing a great job, so keep the faith and hang on in there! I’ve found it much harder to stay calm as the end draws near, but you’ve nearly done it. Flowers

Thesearepearls · 20/06/2018 23:45

Chemistry was fine according to DS so now he is just revising for FP3 and statistics on Monday

And then we're done! Roll on Monday

Wishing all the STEPers lots of love and luck

I have to go to a very formal dinner tomorrow night which I am looking forward to actually. DD is home and being generally lovely and a solicitor has taken her under her wing for her summer job. So everything is looking cheery. Apart from my begonias which need more water.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 07:10

Thank you Yippee and Pearls :) dd is back to her calm cheery self after sleeping well. As for me... Confused

It does get harder to keep the faith and keep calm doesn't it. You start to run out of resilience and I can see why she lost her nerve a bit last night.

That's so nice Pearls. I hope you have a lovely dinner tonight!

Good luck today for The final STEP - very nearly there now 🍀

kaiserschmarrn · 21/06/2018 08:52

STEPMum, my DS spent yesterday evening watching Jurassic Park.

Very glad the end is in sight now. I am really impressed at the way DS has held it together. I know he's stressed but he manages to appear very calm.

It's his birhtday on Sunday and we are having a quiet celebration on Saturday. But he seems pretty relaxed about Monday's paper.

In other news, DD got her degree results on Tuesday and it's a first! Thrilled for her. Even Radio 4's piece on grade inflation this morning hasn't taken the shine off it. SmileSmileSmile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 08:58

oh my goodness Kaiser - congratulations to your dd. Thats brilliant!

Jurassic park is a great choice of a distraction.

OP posts:
HesMyLobster · 21/06/2018 12:32

Congratulations Kaiser's DD - wonderful news! I can't even begin to think about degree results Confused Luckily I've got 4 years before I have to start worrying!

STEPmum18 · 21/06/2018 12:53

Fantastic news Kaiser. Your DD must be delighted and you must be so proud.

Following today's STEP3, I've already had a text saying "That was rubbish." I'm at work today so won't see DS until about 6 0'clock so hope he's OK. He takes most things in his stride but has never before come out of a maths exam saying it was rubbish. Poor thing - at least he tried. Hope other DC found it a bit better.

HingleMcCringleberry · 21/06/2018 13:06

Reading all these posts has made me wonder how it was for my parents when I was doing my A Levels. Sounds like you've been living it all with them! I wasn't in the same country as them at the time, so perhaps they were spared some of the horror and suffering (as OYBBK has eloquently deemed it) you've all been experiencing. I'll have to ask them, as I didn't really give them any thought, but presumably they were very nervous for me as I was taking the exams.

The end is in sight, keep it up team!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 13:32

dd didn't find it great either STEP. I hope it's going to be ok, but it's going to be a bit tight. Very different from Monday's paper.

OP posts:
HesMyLobster · 21/06/2018 13:45

Hopefully the fact that it was a tough paper will be reflected in the grade boundaries.
Kitten if your DD didn't like it it must have been a stinker!
I'm sure she'll have done enough - if she hasn't then there's no justice in the world and the whole system is just wrong!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/06/2018 13:52

I hope so. It will be interesting to see what student room say.
