17 days to go. Anyone else getting nervous about A level results day?

All the evidence suggests he'll get the grades he need for his first choice. But logic doesn't count for much at these times, in my experience, going all the way back to my own results days!

congrats to everyone. Among ds's friends most seem to have met their offers and the few who haven't have been accepted anyway. There are 2 still unsure about firm choices but they both have insurance places to fall back on.

So it's been a good morning in the end.

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 09:15

Same here so far but ds doesn't go into school until later , and to be fair those who haven't made it are probably being quiet

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 09:22

Well we have the results now and DD1 got AAA. I am beside myself to say the least. DD2 hasn't picked hers up yet, should know in the next ten minutes for them.

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 09:33

Wow fantastic frankwippery

iamamug · 16/08/2012 10:22

Well done Frankwippery - excellent results!

ucasfracas · 16/08/2012 10:39

DD got AAB which is exactly what she needed for first choice, phew!

saabwoman · 16/08/2012 10:42

So proud DD got AAA and place at manchester uni med school.

out2lunch · 16/08/2012 11:21

ds got in - first choice

quirrelquarrel · 16/08/2012 11:30

WELL DONE! to everyone who got what they wanted, worked hard, everything....

I did get a B in German! But I'm not too bothered (or surprised, at all) cos I also got an A and an A and went through adjustment. A in History, my most wobbly subject for two years, so it was a pretty Shock moment. Dad's a bit Hmm about the B and A, but what ho.

out2lunch · 16/08/2012 11:37

sorry meant to add yay Smile

and well done and congratulations to everyone

Tressy · 16/08/2012 11:47

We've been up since 6am waiting for track to change. It went online at 7.30 so that was a waste of time. Flipping track didn't change for DD but it did for others on her course as they were updating the face book group.

DD said school didn't open till 9am then we saw a couple of lads posing with results in front of school on facebook at 8.45!!! Arggh

We decided she hadn't met her offer or she was borderline and would have to ring uni. So we went down to school totally stressed out to be met by the head who asked DD what she needed again. She opened the envelope and got higher than her offer. Phew!!!! We both started crying in front of a load of students and teachers and everyone was hugging us. :)

LondonMother · 16/08/2012 11:51

Fantastic news, Tressy! So glad you don't need to worry now about graduate entry medicine!

Tressy · 16/08/2012 11:53

Thanks, no thankfully. Oh and congratulations to everyone else and the DC's of course :)

iamamug · 16/08/2012 11:58

I am very confused as DS got his place confirmed (needed the dreaded AAB) and now he has collected his results he got BBB but still got in! All that stress regarding the AAB situation for nothing. Not sure if it's because it's a fairly small Uni (UEA) but it is an English course so was expecting nothing but the AAB would do. Anyway - no point worrying now!
Well done to all of your wonderful DC's.

out2lunch · 16/08/2012 12:01

yy it is confusing e the results and the grades but i suppose if you are in you are in

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/08/2012 12:19

Same with dd iamamug. I'm currently thinking. Who cares? Grin

Grades are down this year apparently so maybe not so many AABs around. I'm telling dd it's just because she's so fab!

quirrelquarrel · 16/08/2012 12:26

I know someone doing English at UEA! Going into 3rd year. He adores it. Hope your DS will too.

Yellowtip · 16/08/2012 12:33

Tressy: I told you so! Well done her! Great news :)

iamamug · 16/08/2012 12:40

Thanks quirrel - it looks a fab campus - long long way away from us though!

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 12:42

Well done Tressys dd. all that worry for nothing . Ds has gone off with friends for lunch ( probably liquidWink) so pleased for him.

Quirril those are fantastic results and don't let anyone tell you otherwise

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 12:50

Norwich is a fantastic place and UEA has a great atmosphere. We used to live there and now about an hour south. I can recommend it !

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 13:04

Wow at all your DC - such great posts to read. I had lots of friends at UEA, definitely a fab place to be.

LondonMother · 16/08/2012 13:09

Yellow, hope you had good news too.

eatyourveg · 16/08/2012 14:31

anyone know if you get offered an unconditional and go for a remark in one paper and it gets downgraded can a uni retract the unconditional if it no longer meets the requirements?

out2lunch · 16/08/2012 15:11

do we have to confirm anything today with uni?
