17 days to go. Anyone else getting nervous about A level results day?

All the evidence suggests he'll get the grades he need for his first choice. But logic doesn't count for much at these times, in my experience, going all the way back to my own results days!

I'm stalking this thread, while my son is still blissfully asleep! Just hope he gets what he needs. He's had a really tough time with illness, so really needs a bit of good luck on this. His grades are somewhere in cyber space. Feel very helpless... just waiting...with endless cups of tea...

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 07:16

Ok email in ( was in his junk mail!)AAB off to his first choice [GrinWhat a relief Blush

LondonMother · 16/08/2012 07:17

We've had an email too - he got what he needed! Off to his first choice. So, so pleased!

Good luck to everyone else.

Well done lunch! So pleased for you. DS fast asleep but I feel sick.....

Loshad · 16/08/2012 07:32

we had reason to be worried about history, son has dropped a grade in history so no need to wait track to open to see if uni will still have him!

iamamug · 16/08/2012 07:44

Sad Loshad - the waiting is horrible isn't it? Hope it is ok.

Yellowtip · 16/08/2012 07:44

Still fast asleep here.

goinggetstough · 16/08/2012 07:48

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 07:50

Oh Loshad hope it's OK , history is a nasty one , hope ds3 doesn't do
It. What did he need to get?

gelatinous · 16/08/2012 07:50

I reckon this is the earliest most of these teens have been up for weeks yellow!

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 07:54

Morning all, the lovely Cherry pointed me to here. I've got DD1 expecting A level results and DD2 her AS ones. GCSEs next wek.

DD1 has received an email from Bristol this morning saying that she's in, but we don't know her actual grades until 9. Feeling very relieved that she's in, but still rather nervous nonetheless.

goinggetstough · 16/08/2012 08:00

Phew off to first choice. Congrats to all those who have heard and good luck to those going through clearing!!!

iamamug · 16/08/2012 08:08

He's in!!!! First choice - don't know grades but don't care! Good luck to everyone else

goingmadinthecountry · 16/08/2012 08:09

Dd1 off to first choice too - big sigh of relief from her! Don't know results yet but how nice to know about the place before walking into the school hall.

Good luck to everyone else.

AlmostAHipster · 16/08/2012 08:09

We were worried about History too but my girl got what she needed for her first choice and it's all confirmed - thank the Lord!!

She cried with relief so much at school that everyone thought she'd failed everything! :)

AlmostAHipster · 16/08/2012 08:10

Congratulations to everyone who got what they needed! Sheesh! What a day!

maddiemostmerry · 16/08/2012 08:10

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 08:14

DSis is in to first choice, off to school now to pick up actual grades Grin

Congratulations to everybody, it's awful waiting for today!

Oh and frankwipery, I think I'd be a limp rag by now with that sort of exam schedule! Mind you, I had a friend at uni with a brother three years younger and a sister three years young again. Her mum was going to have something like nine consecutive years of exams Shock

eatyourveg · 16/08/2012 08:37

ds in too and have managed to persuade him to defer rather than decline. So glad its all over.

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 08:45

ALittle - I am!

outtolunchagain · 16/08/2012 08:48
