So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

hellsbelles · 19/04/2010 13:53

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 19/04/2010 14:00

Blimey hells - not seen you for a bit on here. How's it going?

DeFluff · 19/04/2010 14:07

Bitter - read those, very good. Think there is a film of the first book, always on sky but i havent read it yet.

I am also into err supernatural porn type stuff so have all the Twilight ones (not porn), Kresley Cole books (porn), Bitten series (porn), Black Dagger Brothehood etc (kinda porn) etc etc

Purrs at Hells stroking.

hellsbelles · 19/04/2010 14:08

hello bitter. Been having a lovely lazy weekend. I've only got DS home for a couple of days before school starts back so I'm trying to be good and not MN too much.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 19/04/2010 14:10

Good to see you anyway

DF - The film is bizarre But I will have a think and recommend something else.

DeFluff · 19/04/2010 14:13

I've bought The BLoody Chamber by Angela Carter to reread at mo, and just bought the beauty myth book, so got stuff to be going on with but any suggestions very welcome x

Slugbrains · 19/04/2010 14:31

Right you lovely ladies have wasted the day doing not a lot instead of sleeping have to get up to go get ds. Hopefully grab a half hour nap later and then off out. I suspect that you will either be heading for or on a new thread by the time i get back so have a lovely time chatting, and will catch up later.

VinegarTits · 19/04/2010 15:20

I have arranged to meet my date tomorrow lunch time, we are going for a stroll around the docks, our offices are across the road from each other, how strange is that?

shitting myself, what shall i wear? a dress or trousers?

TotalChaos · 19/04/2010 15:28

whatever you feel most confident in VT. now will read back on today's posts!

TotalChaos · 19/04/2010 15:37

shiney - I suppose that thread is a backhanded compliment in a way, that someone feels a wee bit envious of your profile/popularity???

defluff - OMG to those dating anecdotes. re:books - erm........

how about the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy (by Stieg Larsson) or the Night Watch quartet by Sergei Lukyanenko.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 19/04/2010 15:53

Chaos - are the Stieg Larrsson books actually any good?

I always get put off by the hype.

Vinny, I would wear trousers, but that's only because I am cursed with hideous knees.

Hope the date goes well

The Ironing is finally finished. Six hours

Sweet and sour pork for dinner with the left over roast from yesterday.

And I'm starting to bore even myself so will bugger off now.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 19/04/2010 16:26

I have dock strolling VT. I live Liverpool Docks....

I would go for.... errrr... trousers. No a skirt. Definitely trousers...

....yep.. trousers...

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 19/04/2010 16:30

Vinny - how exciting. Have you got good legs? If so the dress good.

Lizzylou · 19/04/2010 16:32

Vinny, how exciting, go with what makes you feel confident and comfortable. You will look gorgeous anyway, with your swishy hair and all

Have finished off work for a mo, did my 30 day shred DVD and am going to Spin class and on the fat wobbler tonight.

Bitter, am impressed with your ironing, some people will do anything not to do their shred DVD, eh? It's not that bad! Just have a go and after a few workouts it is far easier. Am working up the courage to try Level 2 eek!

Hells, cannot believe anyone could insult you??!! Where is said insult? Is it because you are on the stylish thread? Must be jealousy.

DeFluff · 19/04/2010 16:38

oooo have seen lots re that tattoo book but not got it.

Total - is Night Watch the same as the day watch and night watch films? I have them on dvd but haven't got round to watching yet. Would def be my kind of thing though.

Vinny I am very jealous of all this bloody datey love stuff going on as long as his user name wasn't 'wildcard' [aka vanessa boy] you should be fine

Lizzy - Whats a fat wobbler?? Aand what can i do about my chin. I currently have 15 of them. Rest of me looks okish in clothes but chin really letting me down, my face looks all round and puffy.

hellsbelles · 19/04/2010 16:41

Lizzy - no it was on the quotes thread. So it wasn't directly at me as a personal comment...she just said 'I knew some tosser would put that quote in (about the quote I put in!). She does have a lovely 'turn of phrase'.

I feeling a bit shite today. I hope I'm not coming down with anything. But I do get to go to Pilates tonight. Nothing like a bit of lying down and doing very little to perk me up!!

wastingaway · 19/04/2010 17:27

Defluff, May 8th is when this particular job ends and he'll be home more. I think I've just added you on FB.

Hells, take care of yourself. Don't lie down too vigorously.

Vinny, whatever you normally wear for work and a nice necklace/scarf for added oomph.

I've been a good mummy and taken DS to a group at the library. It was good and we'll keep going.

DeFluff · 19/04/2010 17:43

Wasting - is he Gordon Brown?????

Vinny - DO NOT LISTEN TO WASTING. She knows not of what she speaks. A necklace/scarf for oomph??!! You need thigh high boots for oomph my girl! Or a corset (worn underneath nothing of course)

You can always trust me for dating advice, oh yes siree

BitOfFun · 19/04/2010 17:44

Hi all- sorry I've been quiet, coming down with something as I can't stop coughing and my throat is so sore I can't speak easily. I have been a bit flat about how arsey people are getting on here though (not our lovely thread, obviously). I blame all the b n p hijacking threads stuff, I think. That Shiney thread made me really cross (and NOT at Defluff). I actually tried to block MN from my computer as an experiment, but it doesn't seem to work. Instead I went to bed for the day. Have to take my mum's car back to her now, so need to get out of my pyjamas. Or do I? Hmm.

I may not be on much this evening as dd1 needs to borrow the laptop for her homework, but will probably try from my phone. I will be keeping my head down though- just not feeling very sparkly. Am ok in the head though (as much as I ever am anyway!), just very tired and feel like squeaking Meep instead of talking much...

I would blow you all a kiss, but my breath must stick as it feels like a budgie died in my mouth...see you later, perhaps on a new thread?

VinegarTits · 19/04/2010 17:46

i have good legs, so i am thinking a dress, i will wear tights though, tis winding on the docks

Mitts what do you mean you live in Liverpool docks?

Unfortunately, we will be meeting in Preston docks whixh is no were near as nice as liverpool docks

Lizzylou · 19/04/2010 17:50

Oh BOF, hope you feel better soon. Get your sparkle back.
I do know what you mean about mad, fighty MN at the moment, it is just like the girl's toilets at an under 18 disco at the moment.
All "she said, she did.." Bitchy and an ugly undercurrent.

Defluff, the Fat Wobbler is a Power Plate thingy, you do exercises on a vibrating plate thingy (you'd like it )and 10mins is supposed to be like 1 hours of exercise. I do it at the gym, some beauty salons have them and you can buy them for the home off Ideal World and even Ebay.

TotalChaos · 19/04/2010 17:56

I assumed Liverpool Docks as well Vinny, clear ly Liverpool is the assumed centre of the Shiney thread world . by Preston docks do you mean the Riversway area near cinema etc?

BoF - sorry you feel grim. I also put down the MN tetchiness to election - both directly (political shills) and indirectly - people's anxieties for economic future etc.

DeFluff - Yes, the Larsson books are good, almost even live up to the hype . Yep, the Night Watch/Day Watch films are based on the books by Sergei Lukyanenko, I have seen the films described as being "trailers" for the books - i.e. the books have a lot more depth to them. If you like the films I reckon you will love the books. Oh and don't know if you are into mildly geeky comics graphic novels, but Watchmen and V For vendetta by Alan Moore are good.

TotalChaos · 19/04/2010 18:01

PS Defluff

not sure if your q about book people was answered, but have used them and they are really good, it's just like an online bargain bookshop, no commitment to any other purchases.
