So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Well it's enclosed and pretty safe so that's why I figured she'd be fine.

She's also fascinated with the bugs but at least she doesn't eat them, unlike DS who yesterday picked up a ladybird, said 'Oooh look, a tomato' and tried to eat it DH stopped him but it was too late for the poor ladybird. Many ants and spiders have also lost their lives in the last few days...

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 14:30

DD is out in the garden by herself atm (she is 2.6) but seeing as she keeps up a steady stream of commentry i know exactly what she is up to

TrillianAstra · 18/04/2010 14:42

Hi JDD - I hope you weren't eating couscous with soy sauce, but well done for working on the fussy eater

Just been and borrowed a drill so DP can put up a wine rack - off out again to lakeland in a minute to hopefully buy this.

Ladybirds taste horrible Fleecy!

Trills - I wouldn't know

Alice - DD does tend to wander back in every few minutes to check in with me if she hasn't noticed me checking in on her. She can be a very serious little soul, bless her!

VinegarTits · 18/04/2010 15:00

wow sazzles what a numpty

glad you sort your hols out TRill

i have been to Ikea, and had meatballs and also bought some scales but scared to weigh myself after the meatballs, will leave it until tomorrow i think

Fleecy · 18/04/2010 15:19

Oh no Sazz, that's awful! Hope he can indeed syphon it out.

VT your DS is so very cute (although I expect you already know that!)

VinegarTits · 18/04/2010 16:18

Thanks Fleecy, i cant deny it

I have cleaned out the airing cupboard, i bag of rubbish and 5 bags of stuff to be recycled, everything is now in my new ikea storage boxes, so all labelled, organised and easy to find

traceybath · 18/04/2010 16:19

Sazzles - I'd be beating DH round the head with a wet fish!

Fleecy - DS1 is 5 and DS2 is 2 and I let them play outside alone with doors open.

Five - we're rural as well and had the same conversation yesterday - its fab in the summer but utterly depressing in the winter.

Bella - Had a lovely night out but ate way too much so must be good now.

Trills - how annoying re. holiday. My mothers has also been cancelled so they're going to cornwall instead.

Have made lemon layer cake for DH as its birthday - had a think slice and its very yummy.

hellsbelles · 18/04/2010 16:27

Sazz bet he feels a right plonker! Poor you.

Trills - that is quite some spice rack!

Vinny- well done you.

SAF - same deal here as Slug has with her DS....

Jujus - glad to hear you are introducing Shiney to the wonderful world of mange tout

Fleecy - DS is relatively sensible so at 4 he was out on his own. DD is not shaping up the same way! And will not be allowed to play out alone till she is 11

Sazz, how on earth did he manage to do that? .

Survived my mothers (just) One story - she was on her third run of it - in telephone call yesterday, when we arrived and then over coffee . Am annoyed with my lovely dad as he stuffed £20 in my handbag to pay for he taxi to the place where we are going to eat in May for Dad's birthday. His argument was he knows how much the night is going to cost and he wants to contribute - trying to tell hime the treat is on us taxi and everything, but he wouldn't have it.

SAF - are you on fb?

Found you SAF

Vinny - hey you have been busy.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 18/04/2010 17:34

Hello all, what a glorious day!

Took the DC to Salcey forest for a picnic and got spectacularly lost - cue a 4 hour walk to find the car

Still, I have been saying I need to exercise more, careful what you wish for I guess

At least DC enjoyed themselves. And the dog thought she had died and gone to heaven!

Hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine. Roast pork for tea then a massive 24 catch up tonight. Bliss

Hellooooo! Just dipping in, madly busy sorting stuff..

TrillianAstra · 18/04/2010 17:48

The rack apparently is too bug to fit behind the door to the kitchen so it will be a shoe and stuff rack on the door to the spare room instead.

Just booked a Waitrose order - if you haven't used them before SAVE1 gets you £5 off first shop (if shop over £50) and £10 off second shop.

Hope your car can be sorted easily Sazz!

bellavita · 18/04/2010 17:50

You have a bug for a spice rack Trills

That was lucky SAF with the glass.

Glad you had a nice day Bitter.

TrillianAstra · 18/04/2010 18:01

Yes, lots of bugs all over it

jetcat · 18/04/2010 18:07

hi all
just signing in tonight, as am away tomorrow, and wont get chance to go online. Need to be good though, as am back on Friday and weigh in is on the following Monday

Fleecy, mini is 3, and she is allowed in the back garden on her own, while i potter about. Totally enclosed, save for the half height gate that is waiting to be replaced, so i resort to tieing (is that spelt right[confused) a scarf through it, so she cant get out

Sazz - i have done that one It was a fleet car from my old work, as i had to reguarly make trips to Preston. Had done it many time, always in a diesal car. So the one time i had to fill it up while away, turns out the car was unleaded and they hadnt told me We only got about 100 yards and then broke down! Took a lot of emails between my manager and the fleet manager to ensure i didnt have to pay for the repairs - which were a lot

glad you had a nice day at your parents Bella, and bless your dad

Well, will sign off as about to get mini ready for bed (back to school tomorrow for 1 day before hols) and not sure if i will get back on. Be good everyone, and shiney - am chuffed for you

JuJusDad · 18/04/2010 18:10

The mange tout was stir fried with ginger, garlic and soy sauce. Next time we'll have mushroom oyster sauce and I'll use that.

I fried off courgettes and mushrooms together, then made the cous cous in that pan and added baby plum tomatoes.

She's now off to get her DS - I'd text her, but the first part of the journey is A roads, and she's only been left about 30 mins.

bellavita · 18/04/2010 18:13

Have a lovely time jet

JJDad - ooooh you are making her go all intercontinental!!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/04/2010 18:22

Saw a gorgeous spice rack spinny thing in TJ Hughs's, would be great for my bijou kitchen. If I cooked properly any more. Sorry about your hols Trill, I really hope something gets sorted for you.

re glass SaF, It makes you gulp for a minute.

Sazz.... a friend of mine pranged her car, got a courtesy car from Ford, put diesel in the petrol engine and had to have another courtesy car as she tried to start it with the wrong fuel. Her H was quite rude about her apparently...

DD is off school tomorrow as well... . She has an attitude at the moment and is not making life easy. Had a terrible scene with her at the bus stop. Her Dad was there and he refused to have anything to do with her and turned his back on us. She wasn't very nice and I was cross but . I had to walk away with her kicking and screaming and crying. I wish sometimes I could just move. A long way. It feels like it is never going to be OK at all. IMO he can be really horrible to them, putting down the things they like and dismissive of them, but then complains bitterly that they just want me most of the time.

He can be brilliant with them, but the tome of his voice makes me wince sometimes. DD is only 7. He says it is because I wont have him back but it is just how he was when he was here but for different reasons.

There does seem to be quite a lot of uphill climbing at the moment. But I am trying very hard not to take a step backwards. Needed to offload a bit.... I am tired and fibro wont leave me alone. I have written posts like this loads and deleted then trying to keep on top of things but have cried a lot this weekend. Doesn't feel like life will ever be easier at the moment and I have lost a bit of get up and go. I think I have been a bit of a drag just recently and don't mean to be but am struggling to bottle it up at the moment.
