So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Not that it helps, but i think Egypt is cursed! We had to cancel our holiday there because i broke my leg.

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 11:02

Would you get all the money back? Book somewhere else?

TrillianAstra · 18/04/2010 11:02

I think anywhere else we would have been flying would be equally difficult to get to right now!

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 11:03

I meant in May? Be somewhere for the same price?

i have taken an excutive decision and am not marking yr 9. cant get head round it.

trill do you know what you want to do about the holiday? Are you going to make plans to do something nice with the days off?

jetcat · 18/04/2010 12:01

yay - essay finished Thank god, it was so boring. Just sent an email of apology to tutor, as it is well below standard, but i needed to get it done as it is very near exam time

thats about the holiday trills, hope you get to go away soon

wastwinsetandpearls · 18/04/2010 12:02

Slug I wish I could make that kind of decision, I have 20 a level exams to mark today but it is just too glorious.

We have been to church and come back to a glorious breakfast. Made blinis again from WW magazine ( much better second time) and we barbequed fruit in the garden. Had with greek yogurt and honey with fresh coffee.

This house is quite lonely and cold in the winter, we were thinking of moving. But sat here this morning it has reminded me why we love the house. I am feeling a lucky girl this morning.

Its btec when half the kids cba to do the work properally and it is really vague. I am officially no longer teaching as of 1 week ago. Its more important that it is done properally - especially as the kids are due to finish this summer. Will be a nightmare for the normal teacher though which was why i was going to try to get it done.

understand your cba though tis glorious outside.

Yay Jet another essay bites the dust

Holiday refunded (or so the lady on the phone said), booked another at a different hotel for similar price but in May.

Will do something nice tomorrow and go back into work on Tuesday - it's not the sort of job where you have to be off if you've said you will be. Now off for a cycle ride.

Hope you all have nice Sundays

Hey girls >

Claudia - no bread and small amount of carbs.

Trills, sorry about your holliday.

Hey Shiney

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 12:44

SAF - i have a rule with ds eiter he lets me wash it or it is short. I shove the clippers over the top of it and keep it really short. he actually looks quite cute with it like that and i dont think thug. but then again the glasses spoil the thug image nicely.

I would personally cut it and see whether it is any better. I find that there is less but still tempers over hair wash. i bribe. if you wash hair = ice cream (after event)

ClaudiaSchiffer · 18/04/2010 12:48

Trills what a bummer about your hols.

I'm off to bed now, the final of The Biggest Loser is on. Am astonished at the weightloss.

SAF got no advice on your ds's hair. Obv short hair would be much simpler but little kids look so adorable with curls. Hopeless, sorry.

hellsbelles · 18/04/2010 13:09

Trills - gutted for you.

Shiney - Slug has been doing a good job keeping the thread alive in your absence! Hope you are having a wonderful time.

Lizzy - good luck, Tracey hope you had a lovely evening and Bella sorry to hear the poo didn't work

I'm too lazy to type - it's hot and there is tanning to be done.

JuJusDad · 18/04/2010 13:16

Hells - shiney ate courgette, mange tout, soy sauce and cous cous today - all for the first time.

I'm hoping that means she had a good time

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 13:32

right off to rl. Ds is watching up. i am in need of caffine, chocolate or something. Computer is old and over heating (well it has only has been on since 4am.)

Enjoy your afternoons.

Glad to hear people are enjoying the sunshine. I love it so!

Both DC in bed at the moment but have promised we will go back outside when they get up again. I love being out in the garden with them but will be glad when they can entertain themselves a little more and I can read the paper instead of playing

How old were your DC when you let them play in the garden alone? DD will be 4 in Sept and she's very sensible so I've been letting her out on her own and just checking on her every few mins - that's not too young is it? DS was 2 last week and is nowhere near ready as he is a climber and an eater

Fleecy · 18/04/2010 14:13

Sorry about the holiday Trills - boo to the ash!

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 14:17

ds was 3 yo, but had to keep a close distance half eye as there was a pond in the garden. The only real thing to worry about was the safety of the critters ds was a budding david attenborough type.
I would say it depends on the garden - what plants and dangers, and the kids. My little sis wasnt allowed out in the garden on her own until she was nearly 7, as she used to let herself out (over next doors fence and straight out onto the road.)
