So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Morning

I am back on the wagon (so to speak) with a new healthyish eating plan! Now, this will shock you, it is very controversial(sp?)
drumroll...........

I am going to make sure i have at least 5 a day fruit/veg, and cut down on tea, and that way i feel slightly more justified in eating cakes and crisps (when the baby asks for it )

So, for breakfast, i have had American style pancakes with banana, raisins and cinnamon (and a dusting of icing sugar) and a glass of tropical juice. Yum!

hmm
That's interseting as i can so relate to it...

"i also had to face that it was simply an odd environment for me to have chosen to work in given that i a) hated school, b) have issues with authority, c) am not a very conformist person. i am a good teacher but i hate schools and sad to say the majority of teachers i ever met."

Will have to see what happens.

Alice are you sure your not going to go into shock from all that healthy eating

You know it is bad when you put chuggintons on iplayer because you miss it rather then ds has asked for it. ENough caffine me thinks

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 09:06

I told you it was controversial

Slug, i think that is possibly enough caffeine for a week! Step away from the diet coke!

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 09:09

nah. going out to play tomorrow night and will probably have a nightmare late night/early morning combo later. Much more full killing yourself at high speed rather then fast insults are quicker formulated too

Am in good mood considering.

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 09:14

I am just thinking of the come down

ClaudiaSchiffer · 18/04/2010 09:20

Morning/Evening everyone.

I'm back from my afternoon at the pub for mates 40thy. Had a glass of wine and 1/2 glass of champers. Also had a few nibbles. Was ace, and I am quite naffed off to have to leave.

Am about to sit down to a fish pie with the dds, whilst dh gets hammered with his mates. Jammy git.

Interesting points about teaching. Particularly yours SAF about being a good teacher but not liking 'schools'.

wastingaway · 18/04/2010 09:22

Good morning!

Yay for good mood Slug! Even if it is highly caffeinated.

Slug and Saf are making my mind up for me about PGCE.

Alice, that is a brilliant plan.

Bella, I hate that bleurgh feeling. Hope the day gets better for you.

I have already made Mars Bar cornflake cakes this morning (as requested by SIL about a fortnight ago) but don't think the ratio of cornflake to chocolate mix looks right. I'm going to cover them with buttercream shortly and hopefully they won't look so pathetic.
They look frankly vile. Not a big fan of milk chocolate and pure sugar. Yeuch.
Much quicker to make than actual cakes though.

I'm going to go an weigh myself now.

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 09:26

Thank you wasting i had forgotten i got a chocolate bar. going to munch then get up. Year 8 books now done.

I will blame it on over training alice

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 09:29

wasting, had a good night friday and the mood seems to be carrying over a bit. it helps ds is almost human at the mo and not his delightful psycho self he has been of late. Plus lovely sis has his full attention again and i am leaving them too it. she goes home after lunch and ds wont see her again til summer. They are enjoying themselves

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 09:30

I need to get dressed really, and do something, but meh. i might write some lists. I like lists

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/04/2010 09:36

I did 30 day shred and really like it.. it is very much like the warm up for K boxing so thanks to whoever recommended it.

Morning to all ... will catch up in a bit.

I slept for 13 hrs. I went to be really early last night feeling ill and didn't wake up till about 8.30.

Sympathies on your Mum Bella. I am lucky with my Mum, she is lovely but my Dad is OK in small doses.

Aww.. being a wife is lovely Iggi.. When my marriage was cool I loved it. No different really to being a DP but I liked the history behind.

Miserable bastard. Really, I am a bit about the whole thing at the moment. So, lots of exercise. Art stuff, company,

Bloody gorgeous day today. DC's coming home soon. Too nice to let things fester.

was going to ask if you are ok today mitts...

Hope you have a good day.

Lizzylou · 18/04/2010 09:40

Morning all

Wasting, hope the weigh in went OK

Bella hope you feel a bit better after a shower

Alice, that was my maxim whilst 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, combined with enough cheese and chocolate to sink a battleship. For the calcium, obv.

Vinny, hope you found a nice bloke on the dating websites

Slug, step away from the caffeine!

Glad you had a nice night, DIB

Yay for week off Bitter, you can do the shred every day!

Iggi, DH!!!!

Claudia, your afternoon sounds lovely, your turn to stay late next though?

Well, I am about to go and defuzz before my swim. Am prancing around in a headband and swimming cossie growling
"I'm a TIGER!" pre-swim.

Or not, am just drinking coffee and chilling, truth be told.

good luck with your swim lizzy.

Lizzylou · 18/04/2010 09:45

SAF, I am hairy enough to be a tiger, alright!

Mitts, 13 hours sleep! How lovely.

wastingaway · 18/04/2010 09:46

5lbs ON.
I have not eaten that much, so it must be a water/muscle/breakfast/wee combo. Not a good start to my newly-curtained health-kick, but as I am feeling motivated it may give me a big loss next week.

Are you feeling better Mitts?

wastingaway · 18/04/2010 09:47

Oh yes Lizzy! Good luck!

Oh, wasting, how annoying for you. Glad you're still feeling motivated though.

Ooo I got invited to a girls fitness thing today, it's gonna be 1 hr of training on Sat mornings and our trainer is . . . AN OLYMPIC MALE BEACH VOLLEYBALLER - swoon.

bellavita · 18/04/2010 09:56

Good luck Lizzy

Tracey - did you have a nice meal out last night?

Feel slightly better, showered, hair washed and dried, make up on etc.

Had a peppermint tea and a few grapes.

SAF - yes there will be loads of wine, but I really don't want to over indulge. That little community thing at your friends place sounds lovely.
