So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Year seven done, working my way through year 8. quicker then year 7, although that could be because the caffine has kicked in. Ds has gone ominously quiet so might have to go check on him.

I used to find red pen intimidating but then again there used to be as much red pen on the page as blue when i was at school. It was all the sp's as well. No good telling me it was sp, if i could spell it i would have put it the first time. But agree i think it was pc-o-philes to placate some parents.

Yep, I have a no food before 7 rule and have trained ds. His solution. to get his own food. Even when he was 3. i believe he is currently making a coffee for his aunt. I never ceases to amaze me that a kid who is so clueless fear wise can be so safe in the kitchen when explained in the correct way.

He was telling me about school and explaining that his hair stuck up due to static electricity when he took his jumper off. So i asked if he had learnt that in school. Oh no mummy you told me that ages ago. I did but he was three didnt expect him to remember it.

he has a to do list. he wants home school today. Not going to happen but his requests are basic skills so will tackle another time.

Marking, marking, marking til 1pm. Yeah

my year 7s were lovely, year 8 lively with issues but lots of personality. year 9 -hormones year 10s yep agree, didnt teach year 11.

yep pretty much. key word sp, flick and tick going on here. with odd well done. Hence why quicker then yr7 who will be dragged through it by their normal teacher.

Suspect there will be little y9 to mark. low work rate a big issue with the group, most time filling in hand over sheet i suspect.

Slugbrains · 18/04/2010 08:05

I had a problem with clock in room as the ticking really disturbed him. So people use a clock that shows day/night but i found a cheap £3ish radio alarm worked for ds until he learnt to change the time. Took about 2 weeks but was stubborn enough to stick to the food rule.

seen that too. Are you happy and enjoying what you are doing?

bellavita · 18/04/2010 08:14

Morning

I feel bleugh this morning (was awake at 5.30). Have got up to all the boys watching the Grand Prix.

It is a lovely day and I don't want to go anywhere least of all my mum's for her to yack on about other peoples business that I am totally not interested in.

Yeah for Yank getting the ferry .

Really don't know what to have for breakfast.

TotalChaos · 18/04/2010 08:19

good morning. off to PILs in an hour. suspect twill be a long day .

It's v foggy here - wonder if it's volcano dust????

you normally have fruit/yog for breakfast don't you bella? do you eat things like rice cakes at all or are they too carby?

bellavita · 18/04/2010 08:23

I am not a fan of rice cakes Total. I am sure it is because I am feeling bleugh, I just have no idea what to have. Think I will go for my shower and get ready first then I may fancy something.

No fog here!

Oh dear, one of those sort of days at PILS - I will do a for you too!!

So i guess you are happier now then SAF. There is a lot ilove about the teaching but right now really dont feel that child and teaching mix well. I need something where i can switch off and the end. just no idea what. there is a job up here in the rink rink which i would love to apply for and get but i need to move. it will be so much better if i do. You know it is bad when ds'contact time with his dad is not described as contact but as rest bite care

I have drunk 2ltrs coke since 4am (having had 2 hrs sleep) am in weird mood.

madness reigns.

Agree re- headache to escape pils/mums as needed. sometimes it has to be done.
