So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Poor DS hells, is he ok now?

Both places look divine.

VinegarTits · 17/04/2010 11:08

oh my goodness Hells he must have taken a good whack for the imprint to show, hope he is ok

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 11:12

OOh Vinny, how spooky. I just had a feeling when you said about your Mom. It is a beautiful place, we didn't go round the house as we didn't have time, just round the grounds, food hall, gift shop and had lunch outside the cafe, gorgeous.
You lucky thing and your lucky Mom, what a lovely place to work.

Trills, that looks like it will be some wedding, when is it, lovely venue.

It is going crazy arse bonkers here, so many balls ups for me to mop up today,

hellsbelles · 17/04/2010 12:27

gosh - all these beautiful places - Trills - that will indeed be some wedding!

Lizzy - don't drop any of those balls - is it work stuff?

Thanks all - he is seeing friends this morning. I sent him off with an ice pack! He did actually seem fine and didn't even cry. Like Lizzy's boys - if there is a visible injury he enjoys showing it off and being brave! He's due back in a minute so I'm dreading to see if it's turned into a bruise yet.

Need to take DD for her nap. She's been practising her walking and it has now taken on the style of a slightly drunk fat old man. She sticks her tummy out and shoulders back and sort of propels herself forward. I'm hoping she gets slightly more ladylike at some point

Is Mrs Shu cod?

It is boring Estate Agents, every other week it seems I have a day where I spend the whole time mopping up their mistakes.
Double booking viewings etc etc

I have now reached the point that I simply do not care, I will be mainly talking to the turtle in the tank behind me and ignoring the chaos.

Oh, and dreaming of a cold glass of wine, Sazz

Hells, your DD sounds gorgeous

Sazz, our neighbour tries to do that with ours, luckily DH has made it into fort knox

SAF, you're allowed to be in PJs, it's the weekend.

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 13:38

OH and yes, Hells, they are one and the same, though she could be someone else now.

wastwinsetandpearls · 17/04/2010 13:39

I have googled KK and she is indeed looking good at the moment. Dp has been giggling all morning about you lot comparing me to her.

I have just ordered a copy of 30 day shred, I am not sure I will be able to do it.

We made blinis and fruit for brunch ( from the WW magazine) which were delicious. Japanese yesterday and Russian today, I am so cosmopolitan.

Trill that venue looks stunning.

Vinny and Lizzy we used to go to Holker Hall all the time when we lived up north, it is lovely.

I am having a bit of a weekend as I have so much work hanging over me and I just want to eek out the rest of my family time. I think today we are going to walk up the path and paint our house and the estate. Dp spent a small fortune on paints and bits yesterday so they will need to be used.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/04/2010 13:41

Have fun Twinset - me I have the joy of Farmer Palmers, leaving in about 5 minutes.

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 13:51

Ooh, Twinset, think I may buy the WW magazine, there sounds some lovely recipes.

I had sushi for lunch, from Tescos though

Sorry for outing your Mom's new job, Vinny. I just thought it must be same place as had only been yesterday. We normally go to Sizergh Castle as we have NT membership. That's nice as well, but I loved HH, very lovely.

wastwinsetandpearls · 17/04/2010 13:57

Enjoy 5gomad, I am waiting for dp to make up a flask so we can go out. I have never been to farmer Palmers, I think quite a few of the kids from school have jobs there.

Lizzy we used to love Sizergh as well. DO you use your NT mambership a lot. We have just bought English Heritage member ship but so much of it seems free anyway. I think from memory NT has more properties up north than English Heritage.

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 14:00

Hells. ds is the same. Except with splinters. He is proud of his injuries. And yes the lads. The hockey boys are a laugh and I have been tentatively let back into the fold. As one wise hockey boy (35+ yo) said "No matter what else happens in live you always have skating to come back to" and in the immortal words of another "life is shit apart from this" tbh both views that i can relate to at the mo.

Hocky boys are fun, and it is nice to swap insults. The ice rink is a whole other world to rl. The return to reality after can be harsh, can be tiring. Just glad to escape rl and not have to think about it. The rule is rl stays out of the rink. Tis truely fab. Can you tell i had a good evening

hellsbelles · 17/04/2010 14:02

Lizzy - they sound like a bunch of idiots. Don't they mess up pretty much every week? Is there any end in sight for this job?

Thanks for confirmation on Cod. I know you lot think she's funny/witty blah blah. However every post I've ever come across from her gives me the impression she's just a bitch .

DS came home baring home made chocolate brownies from my friend. Oh dear! It would rude not to at least try - wouldn't it? However I'm about to do some more baseball (he hasn't been in slightest scared by his near death experience!!) with DS so will no doubt run it all off!

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 14:04

We do, Twinset, there are loads round here (East Lancs) and there are usually nice parks etc for the boys. The favourite one is Styal Mill as it is good for the boys to do the interactive stuff. There was a lovely walk we did last year near Hebden Bridge as well, all bluebell woods and then a mill etc.
We also have a Lancashire museums pass, Clitheroe Castle is covered in that and is good.
We worked out that for us to get admission to HH yesterday would have cost around £40 but as we didn't have much time it wasn't worth it so had lunch in the sunny courtyard of the cafe instead

DH and I have planned our retirement, we will have a sportscar and a wicker picnic basket and go on jaunts to NT houses. When we are not at our villa in spain, natch

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 14:06

Hells, yep they do mess up a lot, then I get a week when I love it and it is all really good.
I am definietly finishing in September anyway. Eat the brownie then do lots of over enthusiastic diving to catch the ball!

Slub, you sound invigorated! I think your night out has done you wonders

bellavita · 17/04/2010 14:11

Guess who has got a date with her DH then next Sat - babysitter arranged!

Hells, I have got a fab picture in my mind of your dd doing her walking

I had veg stir fry again for lunch.. I am fed up of it now. Gonna have to think of something else.

Sazz, yes the couscous salad I can do and I got some brocs in especially. Will do some tomorrow which I can take for Mon and Tues to work.

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 14:13

And best bit is that i get to go play again on monday evening. Just so that i can chill out after the hand over.

I should be working. but cant really be bothered. going to sit in the sun and mark. Ds is being occupied by his aunt and her boyfriend it is fab not one mmmmuuummmmmmmmmm yet today. tis lovely .

enjoy your walk twinset.

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 14:13

That is great bella

VinegarTits · 17/04/2010 14:15

ohhh lovely Bella, where is he taking you?

i have do half of one of the jobs on my list, i have brush up some leaves

but i have also been food shopping and blown up the finnsters car shaped paddling pool, just had a sandwich and now going to wash the car

VinegarTits · 17/04/2010 14:16

i am sat in the sun MNing, i could just stay here all day, a g&t would be nice too

bellavita · 17/04/2010 14:20

We will go into York - some really nice wine bars. Decided not to have something to eat out this time as we are taking my parents out in May as my Dad is 70, yesterday I ordered champagne to be brought out when we arrive (tis the place where I used to work) and I expect not to get much change out of £270/300 ish for the evening (which will not be a late one).

Sounds like you are making progress Vinny. I did some filing and shredding this morning (I hate doing it) and have just made some scones.

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 14:45

Bella, fab news about your date, hope it's a lovely evening like it is today, it will be all romantic
What will you wear???

Nearly home time, thank the Lord.

bellavita · 17/04/2010 14:52

Hmm not sure yet Lizzy as it all does depend on the weather. I hopefully will get to wear those Karen Millen shoes I took delivery of on Thursday.

Pity you cannot shut up shop now.

Lizzylou · 17/04/2010 15:04

Bella, ooh, your lovely shoes. So pleased you have a nice romantic date to look forward to

I have just completely passed the buck to someone as it was another balls up not made by me and I was fed up of having to apologise and grovel for other people's mistakes. He was a bit but I said I was fed up of being moaned at all day and it was his turn.

I may just put my feet on the desk now and my hands behind my head until 4pm.
