So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

Yep. a lovely night.
Night wasting.

I think i need to crash too. am knackered after all that exercise. My butt and thigh msucles are going to ache for a few days. but the plan is to go back on monday to chill out so they'll have to recover quickly or just hurt some more.

toccatanfudge · 16/04/2010 23:42

no you can't leave the thread - you have a perfectly legitimate excuse for not posting.........although it did occur to me yesterday evening that neither of us had eaten lunch..........

Slugbrains · 16/04/2010 23:44

oh heck that could be read in a few too many different ways.

Just to be clear the exercise was skating. I have belted it round a rink for 2 hours. good for tonning tummys, thighs and butts. Ice skaters tend to have pert butts not that you have probably noticed.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 16/04/2010 23:57

DEM - I'll believe you, thousands wouldn't.

Good deeds? - bollocks. I ordered a takeaway pizza this evening - and it was deep pan

Admittedly, DS ate more than me, but there was nowt good deeds about it I can tell you.

Ooh, hark at me, I've gone all northern in my outrage

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 00:04

Nothing wrong wit northern. most people ont thread are. Scarily enough one of the mnners on this thread lives close enough for there to be a possibility of bumping into them. I kinda want to know. Although have bumped into one who is a little less local but lovely.

Erm, well i did say i was chatting with the lads. there might have been a stray s... Although it depends on how strict time wise you are speaking so to speak. It was fun evening.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 17/04/2010 00:07

I'm sure your butt is very pert

I'm glad you had a fun evening.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/04/2010 07:00

Hello hello hello, anyone up yet or is it still in the middle of the night? Or are you all buried under a fall of volcanic ash a la Pompeii?

Inspired by the 'To Do' lists up the thread I have cleaned out my utility room cupboards. I cannot emphasise how deeply satisfying it is to chuck away 4 yrs of accumulated junk. Have even managed to sneak some of the kiddies more revolting toys into the bins. Joy.

On a healthy eating note . . Muesli, noodle salad, almonds, banana so far today. Gonna have home made Pizzas later.

Glad you had fun last night Slug - did you meet A MAN?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/04/2010 07:01

OH GOD, I forgot to mention . ..

Last night we had an EARTHQUAKE!!!

It measured 3.8 on the Richter Scale (so more of a weak tremor really) but it made the windows shake.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/04/2010 07:12

Lookee here if interested

traceybath · 17/04/2010 07:18

Morning - an earthquake - Claudia was it exciting or scarey?

Sazzles - you made me laugh with your Kerry Katona comment. I'd just been reading about her on the DM website (yes - I do read it) and thinking how much better she's looking.

This is the dress - worth a punt for a whole £1.

Right - off to do breakfast.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/04/2010 07:36

Actually, i was asleep tracey but woke to the windows rattling, and thought it as dh mucking about outside trying to 'spook' me.

Love the dress - what website was flogging it for a POUND?!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/04/2010 07:54

Good morning all

How exciting Claudia, but may be not for you.

Morning

Earthquake Claudia - has there been any damage where you are?

I watched a bit of tv last night and then went to bed at 10.00pm, in fact I didn't turn my netbook or phone and and I missed 2 txts from Shiney! I will have to leave it a bit before I txt her back as it is still a tad early.

How are we all today?

I haven't lost any weight since the middle of the week - but I suppose it is expected that it will slow down. When I go back to work on Monday will be the challenge because it is easier to eat sandwiches on reception than a salad.

bellavita · 17/04/2010 08:17

Hey SAF, did you have an enjoyable time?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/04/2010 08:40

No damage at all as far as I can tell. Lots of locals phoning in to terrible local radio talking about their china wobbling on the mantelpiece. So it seems that was about as dramatic as it got. Our dog was being wierd and oddly behaved all day. Dh is convinced that the dog somehow knew what was coming

Welcome back SAF.

Bella can you take preprepared nibbles in to work - carrot sticks and the like or is that all too dreary for words?

TotalChaos · 17/04/2010 08:40

howling at the thought that tsap is Kerry Katona!

claudia - blimey at the earthquake!

wasting - well done with crossstitch, only reason I have no part done ones is having binned them. after I had DS I suddenly lost all concentration for close work. Have a few crochet works in progress mind....like the stripey scarf that is done except for sewing ends up

slugbrain - not sure if the MNetter near you is me? if so, it's unlikely I am that near - as you seem to live near a skating rink, and I am a good 40 minutes drive from one (roughly equidinstant between Altrincham and Queensferry ones!)

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 08:41

SAF- when does ds come back?

claudia - blimey earthquake. its not nice to be woken up like that. Have had that happen here and it is the scariest thing until you work out what is going on. Although as this is a mining village we werent sure whether it was an old mine collasping to start with, or an earthquake.
Oh and sort of. We'll see.

Bella did you have a nice evening with dh?

It was decisively quiet last night. I ache and i havent even moved yet. I need a big glass of water so am going to have to get up.

It was nice to feel like the skates were part of me again. I had fun. although i have alot to do today that is pretty crap in the moving forward front. Tis necessary.

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 08:46

total, it was but i was thinking in the past. was being noisey and noticed your high school on fb. The new rink doesnt sell the fab chips that the old one used to. No idea what they put in them be there are legend.

Slugbrains · 17/04/2010 08:50

my internet connection is broke and i cant find the tape to fix it. am going into the rl. hope to be back later.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 17/04/2010 08:50

at earth quake.. what is the planet up to?

Does anyone want a copy of 30 day Shred? I appear to have ordered 2. FOC in the spirit of the thread .

I hope you have a positive day DEM. When things are in order we could meet for lunch or something .

I do chopped salads if I need to take one anywhere Bella... with a fork. In fact I prefer them to ordinary ones.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/04/2010 08:51

I love icesakting, there used to be a rink in Bournemouth which they closed years ago, the town council have just vetoed plans to build another one

Claudia, I have heard that dogs can pick up on things like that so your DH may not be as as you think.

bellavita · 17/04/2010 08:55

Claudia - I sometimes take cherry toms and scoff those at my desk - so could do carrot sticks and strips of pepper too. It is dreary, but it has to be done! at your dog having physic powers!

Yes I did have a nice evening with DH. He made a huge effort not to be on his laptop and came and sat with me on the settee. My friend has massaged me her daughters mobile number so I can ring her today and ask if she would mind coming and sitting with the boys next Saturday night so we can go out.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 17/04/2010 08:56

Not quite as good a bargain as yours tb, but I have just ordered some shoes that were over £100 for just over £25. And they are all grown up and proper heels.... you lot have a lot to answer for .
