So, here we are on the 63rd(?) thread...

Much intellectual discourse has been held...The big bang theory rewritten...thermodynamics hotly debated, the Election mused upon....

Alongside which, we coax, encourage, arse kick, tease, boost and cajole our way into a healthier lifestyle, with whatever 'diet' or exercise regime suits, and drinking more WATER (are we drinking our water ladies? )..

Please pay homage to our mascot as you enter the thread.

Anyway, where were we? The life and works of Aristotle I believe.....and over to you Total...

may i ask then sazz - do they ever get to a 'normal' size so that top half clothes arent always 2 sizes bigger than the lower half

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/04/2010 19:59

yes. but you know those days with the dc when counting doesnt work.

traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:02

Sazz - I am a pretty small size everywhere now but Karen Millen - I'd need a bigger size as they cut for women with no boobs at all.

Just back from seeing lovely consultant and my problem seems to be resolving itself - hurrah.

We very luckily have private healthcover through DH's work and blimey - it was nice there. Lovely consultant who managed to make quite an embarassing examination amazingly unembarassing - it was all sheet here/smoke/mirrors etc.

My mum is meant to be flying tomorrow - she is jinxed re holidays. Last year her DP ended up having open heart surgery whilst they were on holiday in Japan.

Trills - when are you flying?

I forgive you Shiney

Defluff · 15/04/2010 20:11

FOR JETCAT-

Been at park all day with friends and friends of friends and all the DC. Absolutely mortified as it was only my dd that pulled off tantrum fter tantrum after tantrum - 'she won't play with me' 'shes being nasty' 'its myyyyyyyyyyyyyy turn', screaming, crying, eventually she curled up on the floor under a blnket and stayed there for ten mins (will post video footage to my fb wall shortly!). The other girls did their own share of tantruming later but the one boy was an angel. I felt so embarrased though. Then I got all flustered and started telling the one bloke (who I don't know well)that 10 years ago at the Rubber Ball, a man came over my foot. WHY??????? (I know why he came, he was wanking, I mean why did I have to say it?!) When I get nervous I just can't shut up
-----

I haven't explained well. I didn't want him to come over my feet. We were all dancing and he kept adjusting his trouser belt (I thought). When I realised what he was actually doing I shouted 'MOVE' to my best friend and also jumped but it went on my feet and in her hair [shudder]

Vin - is like a big fashion/fetish type ball, people wear all sorts of clothing - basques, rubber etc. My best friend ran a basque/corset shop and was into that kind of thing anyway so we went along, was great fun

But why I felt the need to share this particular piece of information with a parent from my dd's school, I have no idea

jetcat · 15/04/2010 20:16

thanks sazz - there is hope then

defluff - thanks for that I forgot i had asked, and did look when i first started reading

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/04/2010 20:17

TotalChaos · 15/04/2010 20:19

tracey - glad the appointment went well, and all seems to be resolving

jet - thanks for the good wishes. no further news, as my mum hasn't been able to go to the hospital for various reasons (family politics I imagine .

hope yank and lizzy's mum manage to fly. my friend and kids were due back from austria today, but have had to wait till saturday, they are jinxed as they were delayed about a week this winter too during big freeze!

Defluff · 15/04/2010 20:25

DEM - Hope he stays down for you. Not envying you the ironing. It is never therapeutic

Jet - most funny was that Total (I think) got confused and thought it was Lizzy at the Rubber Ball

Total - hope it all goes ok, sounds stressful and not nice.

bellavita · 15/04/2010 20:26

I hope you get some answers tomorrow from the school DEM. Sorry about your ds

TotalChaos · 15/04/2010 20:31

well fingers crossed tomorrow morning brings about better news re:step-gran.

DEM - sorry the start of school has been so fraught, sounds most disatisfactory if belongings are going missing/getting broken...

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/04/2010 20:39

Evening all, just dropping in while supper is cooking (steamed salmon with new potatoes, creme fraiche, wilted spinach and sugar snap peas)

Was very good today and resisted icecream and fish and chips, took DC's on the stema train and paddling on the beach.

Welcome all new people, and waves madly at Twinset.

wastwinsetandpearls · 15/04/2010 20:40

Waves madly back, we have not caught up again have we. I am thinking of asking school for another week of just because my life is too interesting to fit everything into two weeks.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 15/04/2010 20:40

Evening All,

Had a mammoth day of cleaning - and its just taken me about 40 mins to catch up with the thread

Bella - those shoes are fab

Batty - gorgeous dress, how exciting, a wedding!

Twinset - welcome!

Vinny - Hope DS is feeling better.

DEM - sorry that the school thing has been stressfull

Jet and MyCat - That is seriously good going on the weightloss

Sazzled - Can't believe you ran 10k!

Lizzy - how's the evil shred going? I'm scared to start it

Defluff - Am at the vigilante

Anyone else I missed, sorry. Hope you all had a good day

SlinkyGoober · 15/04/2010 20:42

Bella, have been busy with stupid work, kids, working out and dog. Haven't been here much in last week. Tonight is a nice quiet one, which is not a good thing as I'm hungry, tea was crap so left it and now hungry.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/04/2010 20:44

Oh lordy, school isnt stressful, its the lip, defiance and attitude that is going out of ds. His way of coping but combined with never shutting up you do get the to point were you start considering duck tape and super glue. I went for the shout til your horse approach which achieves only that.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/04/2010 20:46

Defluff right now i take ironing over lego sorting. Both need doing though...

BattyKoda · 15/04/2010 20:52

Oh my goodness...this thread moves pretty fast!

Didn't manage to cut the pasta out of my dinner It took me two hours to make though and was bloody lovely!

Will try to go for a run in the morning to make up

FiveGoMad - I'm very of paddling on the beach. We moved away from the coast 2 years ago... hopefully moving back soon though.

Iggi999 · 15/04/2010 20:57

Evening. Not attempted new healthy plan until all the chocolate in the house has been hoovered up in my mouth put away.
Watching debate thingy and losing will to live. Thinking (selfishly) glad flew home yesterday as would be missing DS big time by now.
Am planning major clear out of wardrobe, but here's the question - do I chuck out smaller size clothes, or keep them in case of success? And what about the larger ones?

BattyKoda · 15/04/2010 20:59

Iggi - I have been told to talk to you about weddings . Congratulations! Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Iggi999 · 15/04/2010 21:11

Hi Batty (or do you prefer Koda? )
We went to Switzerland, chose it because we wanted to have a church blessing somewhere abroad and liked the area.
Only managed 5 days though, but 5 blissful, DS free days!
V.pleased to not be spending every evening planning it now! You all sorted?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/04/2010 21:18

Iggi - welcome back and glad you had a good time. I am working on the principle that all my winter clothes are going to the attic and then on to the thrift shop as they WILL be too big next winter.

Iggi999 · 15/04/2010 21:24

I like that positivity!
