Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

I have just eaten dried-melted white chocolate. With a spoon. Shall I leave the thread now?

Went for a little walk in the sun earlier, now on sofa watching a silly sniper film.

Make sure you eat the right amount of points Shiney, not just the minimum you can get away with

I like grapes, but we don't have any.

BethAndHerBrood · 21/03/2010 16:07

I took the DC to McDonalds for lunch. I had a cup of tea. And Nothing Else. [smug]

We had a run about, and there was a brand new park since we were last there, so good fun was had by all.

It's nice to see a bit of sunshine, innit?!

bellavita · 21/03/2010 16:08

Roast beef in the bella household.

I am aching... I have done all the weeding and am tired now.

Shiney, you didn't answer my question about the return train ticket... I know it is boring... but do you want an open return which means you have a ticket for the next day but can get on any train back (you just won't have a seat booked like you will do going) or do you want me to book you on a specific train with a specific seat - which will guarantee that you are on the right train with no changes.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 16:09

Wow well done Beth. DP refused to take me to McDonalds in the car after our walk. He looked at me like this after I mentioned the McDs poster looking yummy, and said 'you're not serious' and I decided that no, I wasn't.

bellavita · 21/03/2010 16:10

but if you are booked on a specific train with a specific seat - you have to get this train or otherwise you will end up paying out shed loads of money to get another one. You cannot be late for the train.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 16:12

I book via the trainline (same price as booking via Virgin it looks like) and it appears that I can buy an open return and have a reserved seat on the train that I guess I'll be getting.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 16:13

Ooohhh Roast Beef bella.... Have I reminded you lately of how much I love you? Just don't say you have yorkshire puddings...it would be too much.......

I gardened in indignation. I am not a fan, but DD's dad is doing a veg patch for her (he doesn't have a garden and I have no problem with them doing stuff here) but he went round pointing out al the stuff that needs doing and I had a hissy strop. He 'nicely' offered to do it but I get fecked off with having my failings pointed out so am now bloody determined to do everything by myself. Actually I quite enjoyed it. Just what I need though.. ore to do. I am my own worst enemy.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 21/03/2010 16:17

Oh what a palaver ive had about cars!

I went to test drive 'my' fiesta again, convinced myself i wanted it, so told the salesman 'yes i will have it'

Drive away and drove straight to the Mini dealer (aliens took over my brain i tell you) spoke to a lovely salesman who offered me a great deal on a car, but the car was at another dealership, so i drove there to see it, loved it! rang him, said 'i want it!' he rang me back 10 mins later to say it had already been sold someone pipped me to the post, the bastards!

So i have decided i defo want a mini, and rang the ford guy back with the bad news, just need to find the right mini now

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 16:18

Beth, that is impressive, I would have had to have at least a small fries.

My homemade soup was nice, but I am hungry already. Dratted no-points vegetable soup!

DH has gone to the office to try to get a jump on the week (we are gone for three weeks afterward and it is end of financial year). DS is napping

Mitts, BOF is correct--errors in my apostrophes are generally intentional. But people hate it when you point out terrible punctuation on a thread so I had to come rant about it here. I am not perfect, but generally quite good, and stray apostrophes that have no business being there really irk! I would rather people forget to add them rather than sticking random one's in in several place's.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/03/2010 16:27

Oh Good Alice, I can breathe again.

VT I luurrrrve your spontaneity.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 16:29

I thunk you are destined to have another Mini Vinny..... It will all fall into place and the right one will be there waiting for you.
But the spirits are telling me it won't be red or silver... I am getting shades of blue in the haze... not sure if that is the mini or the colour of the sales persons eyes.. but blue will be important..
