Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Would probably best not shiney. really into Kutski on radio one and the mo and feel that my taste in music would be a bit far fromt the mark.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/03/2010 13:13

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 13:16

I am winding her right up, I really shouldn't.

Fanny that sounds so lovely and spring-like. I remember going to a sleep-over at my friend's farm when I was 12 or so, and we stayed up all night to see the lambs being born (two or three, I think).

Has stayed with me for 21 years

Alicetheinvisible · 21/03/2010 13:56

Afternoon

Fanny - my grandparents have had their first couple of lambs and i took DD over last week to see them and the chicks.

My bump has popped out loads today, i feel huge and tired and i am only half way and the house needs a good tidy because we have a friend coming round this evening.

DD is playing on her laptop that she got for christmas (but didn't get till beginning of march) and it has all these games on that i thought were too old for her, but apparently are not. She keeps wandering around saying "Mummy, put uppercase letter on please" makes it sound like we are strange pushy parents we just thought she liked pressing buttons.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 14:15

That must be blissful alice. SO nice when they keep themselves amused pushing buttons especially when they are not your buttons

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 14:27

VT, with three weeks to go I would say half a stone is reasonable. join us....mwahhhh ha ha ha ha ha

Trills, slow cookers are ace, I love mine.

DEM, so glad you are in a good mood, you deserve good days!

hells, not what you wanted for a deferred mother's day

kitkat, good work on 2lbs. Reporting will keep you honest. i had oven chips last night^

Mitts, good job being firm

bella, good luck with trying to get DS to take more responsibility for himself. He will thank you later when he goes to uni and is the only one remotely capable of doing anything for himself (that was my little brother).

I am doing domestic goddess stuff. Pegging out laundry, homemade soup for lunch, sorting out grocery order for tomorrow.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/03/2010 14:32

Alice, please be careful you really shouldn't be hanging around pregnant sheep.

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 14:41

BOF, I am sitting on my hands so I don't write anything about her continual inappropriate use of apostrophe's

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 14:46

Why am I so mean though? It is a cruel thing to taint Michael's memory, and very wrong of me. Perhaps I should go and light him a candle? It will remind me of his life so sadly snuffed out

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 15:06

Bof...this really is Michael Jackson being spoken of in the thread?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 15:08

''apostraphe's'' yank?

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 15:14

Mitts, "Michael" alone will suffice, don't you know? No need for surnames where there is a mad obsessive fan love...

And I'm sure Yank knew what she was doing, hehe

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:19

ahhh...Michael - I once employed a chap who was clever and good looking but he had an intensive obsession with Michael. Rather odd in a grown man? Non? I have to say it shadowed the single ladies lust slightly.

Apologies to any ardent Michael fans out there (I can see the merit in his early stuff and am very keen on the Jackson five)

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 15:24

I know what you mean- it all started going downhill when his nose started getting funny, didn't it?

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 15:25

Michael can fuck off.

Slightly out of line IMO to start bringing up 'Michael' on the thread when the "fruitloop" was staying entirely within the bounds of the original discussion.

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:25

that was the beginning of the end indeed!

Alicetheinvisible · 21/03/2010 15:27

People do get very obsessive don't they?

Fanny - we didn't get very close to the sheep, they are hebridean blacks (i believe) and very wussy

DH and i have just had a bit of a housework frenzy and now just having a quick break before going up to the horses.

Have a good afternoon ladies (and BOF behave )

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 15:32

It was relevant Trills, because she has done long threads defending Michael Jackson's bed-sharing, and then calling a woman who does it a pricktease. So I thought it was fair enough to point out the contradiction, even though I generally wouldn't bring other threads into a discussion.

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 15:33

I have just eaten a salad and had an apple.

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 15:36

Hey Alice, how are you? Sounds positive for you..

I have a cold thing. I have my dressing gown on. This is probably why everybody else has been so unreasonable . I hope it is a quick one as I have a busy week coming up.

The frogs appear to be mating one minute and eating the spawn the next..... interesting form of population control. They are making contented little croaky noises. I remember making those..........

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 15:39

What sort of salad Bof.. I need to be inspired for my tea. I don't fancy anything. Just fluids. I want my Mum. She is so lovely when you are ill... just the right balance of motherly clucking and geeing you up.

I was one of those kids that used to pile the bed up with stuff to do when they were ill and she would plump the pillows up so I could sit comfortably while I was illing.

Does anyone fancy plumping my pillows?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 15:40

Ooooo, I feel all lewd.....
