Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

OP posts:

Chaos - today i dont care about having to work. I am in a very good mood. Its amazing what a few things will do to make life seem better.

Someone about on fb who remembers last summer's threads?

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 10:04

OH trills - fantastic. It was all down to me if you actually like it in RL. If you don't - then I blame Bella entirely

I was so looking forward to this morning. Deferred mothers day lie in (as we couldn't do it last weekend) but it was a bit crap.

I woke up when everyone else did - resolutely stayed in bed to try and get back to sleep but couldn't and when I gave up and came downstairs DH was very grumpy and the place is carnage so I'll have to clear it all up.

I'm really surprised as he good about lots of other things but for some reason he has a big big block against me being allowed a lie in (once for the first time in ?????? years?). I have promised him one on Fathers Day and shall do it properly in the hope he'll learn for next years Mothers day!)

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:08

That's a shame Hells.

Was just thinking, my post doesnt make it clear which is asleep. to clarify that is ex. ds is currently running around stark naked and being rude and obnoxious. I relly just dont care but do want chocolate....

Kitkatqueen · 21/03/2010 10:13

Hiya I'm just checking in because as Yank says having to report is keeping me honest

I have lost 2 lb this week (i'm now 10 stone 4lb) in spite of a couple of things occuring that had me reaching for the biscuits and dp "kindly" buying me a chinese on saturday. So I must try harder next week!

I may need to start posting my cals on here if no-one minds because if I know I will have to report it it will help.

I'm sorry but there is no way I can catch up with this thread, Someone should do a "shiney thread round-up" every 5 pages or so. Who said what about sniney on another thread - im intrigued! Goober well done on the willpower! You have passed the greggs sausage roll test! You deserve a medal!

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:18

Kitkat- you soon learn that not having pages makes it easier and quicker to flick through and grasp little snippets.

So as i understand it:

Yank - had a lot of alcohol last night and a promise of fun.

Trills - got a new dress, lovely that was recommended by hells who is a bit annoyed at a crap delayed mother's day lie in.

Vinny is off the the races in 3 weeks and wants to shift some weight and buy a new dress and is thinking about a new car.

Shiney - may or may not have a date with the internet bloke.

Bof - has a spider woman dd2 who likes to eat ceiling tiles but had a very lovely moment with her this week.

erm... this is where i get stuck but does that help?

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:20

Could someone introduce who the newbies are that have joined over the last 2 or 3 threads? This is where i get stuck as i have no idea who they are at the mo. Names havent stuck and my list is months out of date.

bellavita · 21/03/2010 10:23

Hi KitKat - of course you can post your cals on here. Well done on the weight loss btw.

Hells, you cheeky minx!

I have a piece of beef in my slow cooker this morning Trills.

The house is all nice and tidy (well apart from DS1's bedroom - but that is a whole other story of boys and their mess). Am a bit miffed with him because at 13 he should be able to hang clothes back up in his wardrobe. Yesterday his lovely HH jacket was just strewn on the floor and I asked him to pick it up and put it away. This morning it was still in the same place with a hoody added to the mix as well as 2 pairs of dirty socks and boxers. I asked him if he had anything for the wash, he looked around his room and said no despite all the dirty stuff on the floor. Blimey did I kick some ass.

Just going to get a coffee then will be going into the garden.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 10:23

Morning..

I am so glad you got the dress Trills...

How are you all this morning?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 10:26

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:28

Hey mitts how are you doing?

Could you come kick my ass please... I erm had... well its on fb. You may want to arm yourself before you hurl the good advice and wisedom, followed by a very big boot!

Enjoy spending it Bella! about being able to get in garden. tis fab weather out there at the mo!

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:29

Hope you enjoyed your dream mitts.

BethAndHerBrood · 21/03/2010 10:29

Morning everyone. I've just had a cup of tea and a banana. Feeling like a "fresh start" today, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the DC are fighting....... All is as it should be chez BAHB.

I'm going to take the kids out to run about in the fresh air, there's a place we go that we pretend Robin Hood's Den is there, and there's a park. Then we shall go and have a coffee, and do a bit of shopping. Need gubbins for packed lunches.

We're having steak, carrots, broccoli, and roast pots for tea. No RP for me! So I just need to decide about lunch.

And that dress is gorgeous, I love it!!

Well, back from the gym, ran(with a few breaks) 5km, fat wobbled before and after then raced to pick up DS2 from the football field where he was with DH watching DS1. We were worried he'd not enjoy it, but he was fine.

Now need to shower and get us all ready to meet new tiny nephew...newborn babies, yum.

We have Booths meatballs for dinner.

Will have a wholemeal pitta and salad for lunch.

Good luck car hunting, Vinny.

It's a gorgeous day here, think we'll go for a walk later as well, see some lambs.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 10:46

Yep had noticed.

Didnt squeesy have a wobble as she had to change due to rl and that it might have caught up with her again? Twas ages and ages ago though.

Is jaq due to join us in june? She needs to come back and join us.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 11:03

Have answered DEM, on FB but I am in no way in a position to give useful advice.....

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/03/2010 11:11

How is your neck Trills?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/03/2010 11:14

Good morning all, the sun is shining here, DS is asleep, just tidied DD's room, Pork Belly is roasting and we had boiled eggs for breakfast.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 11:17

Neck is not too bad, thanks Mitts.

I am feeling productive as I have finally booked flights and hotel for the Barcelona wedding (the second of the two).

Bella if DS1 ever wants to wear clean clothes he will have to take things to the laundry basket eventually. Otherwise he can just stay in dirty things.

Shiney that sounds like a busy day!
