Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

I hope you kept it! You must have a drawer to keep such things in, in case you might ever need it for spare parts or to take a screw out of it or whatever.
You can keep it next to your button drawer.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 20/03/2010 23:10

Oh i have a drawer for things like that, i am particularly attached to the actual drawer

i have a wham bar from 1985 in it

BitOfFun · 20/03/2010 23:11

ROFL at the tin opener

Ah, pissed poetry...I like the line from Yeats: "Love me for myself alone, and not my yellow hair"

DS has woken up, snotty and hungry. I had some expressed milk in the fridge so DH is giving him that rather than me give him my booze-laden boobs.

So far there has been no seduction other than us discussing the european countries/cities we would like to go to some day.

Will try that arms interlinked thing just for you Vinny!

iggi999 · 20/03/2010 23:19

Good luck Yank!
Sleep for me now. After a little kiss for the sleeping boy, at his cutest now after a day of shopping-centre-tantrums.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 20/03/2010 23:23

oh shopping center tantrums are the best, its where you shout through gritted teeth 'wait till i get you home, woe be tide you my lad' and go bright red cos everyone is watching (well i do ) night iggi

Beddies for me too i think, im sure the smoking bastards are puffing marijuana i can smell something strange

TrillianAstra · 20/03/2010 23:55

Hello. Accidentally posted on the old thread. Did I miss much? I've wimped out of party ont he grouds of hurty neck and afternoon drinking.

TrillianAstra · 20/03/2010 23:57

Aww, love Yanks' singing.

And did I mention I got the dress!?

BitOfFun · 20/03/2010 23:58

Woohoo! Link please.

Love the random champagne-drinking (yes, I actually read the thread eventually)

Vinny you are a softy - get a car that works!

My dress

BitOfFun · 21/03/2010 00:15

Gorgeous.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 00:16

at Vinny replying on the other thread.

Think I need to go to bed now.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 00:18

Thanks BoF - Hells is my style guru (unless she tries to make me wear 'young' things just because I am young).

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 00:20

well done getting the dress Trills

No seduction here I think....DS is still awake and now in his jumperoo bouncing away. DH is snoring a bit on the sofa. We have each had a glass of champagne. I will wake him to drink the rest I think.

Lizzylou · 21/03/2010 08:05

Oh, I love that dress, Trills, better than the other Maxi you liked (the strapless one?), it's lovely.

Off to the gym soon, woke up at 5.45am all by myself, boys didn't wake until 6.30am, which peed me off.

Beth, welcome, I think you may fit in round here saucy

bellavita · 21/03/2010 08:06

Morning girlies

Triiiiillllllllls - you got the dress, yay! You will look divine in it. Do you feel any better this morning?

It is a lovely morning here, I didn't want to get up but the washing machine was calling me...

Not sure what to have for breakfast as I haven't got any 0% Total left. Might have to have branflakes or porridge or even toast.

Yank, how is your head this morning? Did you manage to finish off the rest of the champagne?

It is a nice day Vinny for looking at cars.

TotalChaos · 21/03/2010 08:24

good morning. had a curry last night, but it was all grilled dry stuff so hopefully not too much fat in it (deludes self), same cannot be said for the glass of Baileys type liquer I had with it (restaurant brought us all free glasses with the bill ).

now need to get up and get on the Wii sports coach thingy before DS gets up!

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 08:39

Ugh.

We did finish the champers.

There was a somewhat halfhearted attempt at seduction once we got upstairs, but DS playing loudly with his activity centre next door put me off a bit (and any amount of alcohol these days makes me sooooo sleepy).

Off to make breakfast.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 21/03/2010 08:45

Morning, i have been up since 7 came down and gave Fin his brekka and then dozed on the couch, heard him rustling in the fridge a bit later so opened one eye to see him scoffing grapes, and the cheeky sod told me 'you go back to sleep'

Tis i lovely day for shopping for car Bella, going to have a little search on the net and see what i can go and view today

Lovely dress trill, i need one for a tacky very classy event that i am going to in 2 weeks, ladies day at Aintree

If i join WW today, do you think i could lose a stone by then? i have just eaten 3 rounds of toast with bacon

TotalChaos · 21/03/2010 08:50

sounds like a good night then Yank

VT - some people do manage to shift ridiculous quantities the first week or so of dieting but for that sort of short term weight loss I think you'ld have to crash diet.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 21/03/2010 08:53

Actually its 3 weeks until the races (9th apr) so if i start dieting tomorrow i could lose quite a bit, half a stone would be good

means i wont buy a dress till last min though, but i did that last year and got a gorgeous monsoon dress in the sale

bellavita · 21/03/2010 09:20

Coast have a sale on at the mo Vinny, I got a lovely skirt from there yesterday - £100 down to £39.

If you joined ww, you would have a good chance in the three weeks of losing something. But you would have to stick to it religiously.

DS1 has just made himself a bacon buttie. He asked DH to make it but at very nearly 13 he needs to be sorting himself out, so DH told him in no uncertain terms that he had to do it himself.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 09:50

Morning!

The seems to have been a rash of naughtiness round about last night

I can't be arsed to be cross with ds. He was up at 5.45 this morning. But as he had his dad up and i got to sleep until nearly 9am I am feeling a bit smug. I have had sleep and the sun is shinning. I am going to write a few lesson plans and clear up a bit then go for a walk before driving home.

Ds is off out with his dad after he wakes from his nap. Ex is funny - gives a very good impression of a midlife crisis at the mo. tres funny!

TotalChaos · 21/03/2010 09:54

morning ladies! VT - oh yes. 1/2 over 3 weeks is doable, and Monsoon has a sale on now anyway.

DEM glad you didn't have a dawn start, a shame you have to work on a Sunday tho.

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 09:56

1st week of dieting you normally lose more, and 2lbs a week is doable sensibly, in 3 weeks that 's 6lbs, and half a stone is 7, so, er, maybe MyCat is the expert for dressing for the races

Mmm, bacon buttie sounds good, but I don't think we have any bacon. DP made himself a fried egg sandwich at 4 this morning, I'll have to ask him if I missed any gossip at the party.

There is a chicken in my slow cooker. I have a slow cooker. I may go on about it a bit. Goober recommended me this nice hceap shiny one and I made it come with my groceries yesterday.
