Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

DIB, that is norty.....you really must eat more food than that and wine does not count. I think bare minimum for WW is 14 points!

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:37

iggi, pilates will be different if you are used to tradtional exercise classes. There are a lot of small movements and focus on alignment, posture, and breathing. I never think I'm doing much, but when done correctly I do feel it the next day!

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:38

Beth, cat wee? It's not that bad really....

okay, it's not that good either

DH is drinking Kronenberg, maybe I will nick one of his....

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 21:43

It's not often, Yank

What did you decided on? A nice cold glass of Kronenberg certainly has its merits...

Goober · 20/03/2010 21:45

I think you can keep falafel, it looks odd. Mind you lentils frightenned me too until I tried them, so I might look out for some.
I tried Quorn this week. Won't be bothering with that again.

Bella, you did very well. Are you worn out?Cheers for the pear. Am loving fruit now.

WW wine is so cheap it can't possibly be good. Surely it is better to have a spritzer made with quality wine than drink that tosh?

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 21:45

Where on earth is Jaq? She's been AWOL for over a thread, now

hellsbelles · 20/03/2010 21:46

pilates is good iggi - helps my aching back a lot.

Jet - sorry about your PA - but you DID have issues with her and so perhaps it is a blessing in disguise and you'll get someone much better.

How did mini's thing go on Friday?

welcome beth

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:46

DH bought 4 cans and we are debating on who gets what. He has had 3 cans and has said i can have the last, but he wants the cat wee ww wine.

hellsbelles · 20/03/2010 21:47

bella - wow - impressive shop. Is the snag jumper available online? It sounds like you really liked it

MumGoneCrazy · 20/03/2010 21:49

Thanks Yank and BOF

I'll be back on wii fit plus 1st thing in the morning...I'll have to find something for the DC to do so they dont watch me as they usually pee themselves laughing at me

MitsubishiWarrioress · 20/03/2010 21:50

Well Beth, normally I swallow, but you know when something takes you by surprise that reflex just kicks in...

Ooohh! Pilates Iggi... I have never done it but have heard very good things about it and it does an awful lot for your core whatsimijiggs. How's it all going?

Oh bugger Jet. I seriously wish I was closer and could be your PA..... I am sure you will meet the challenge and may find that it is a good thing ... as always, anything we can do..

So Mrs Strict.... would you like a bag on mini eggs?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 20/03/2010 21:51

I love your shopping Bella, I can enjoy shopping vicariously through you guys .

bellavita · 20/03/2010 21:52

Goobs, was worn out when I got home.

The jumper is available online - the sales girl checked for me. But, I am thinking along the lines of that it was £80 and perhaps the snag was there for a purpose to stop me spending? If it had not been snagged, yes, I would have bought it, but now this is making me think and dither.

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:55

DH has opened the WW wine and proclaimed 'it smells like gnat's piss!'

But then reckons it tastes better than it smells.

I am having the can of lager, 2.5 points

and having a slice of toast with peanut butter for 3.5 points. That makes it 34 for the day, which, depending on how you define 'fully' breastfeeding, means I have not gone over for the day (or if I have, it is only by 4 points and not a spectacular fuckup)

Goober · 20/03/2010 21:56

I'd have bought the jumper because it was snagged, demanded 25% off and fixed it at home.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 20/03/2010 22:00

You see Bella I would have demanded to have it greatly reduced as the last one in my size and then cunningly mended it. I got a gorgeous River Island coat years ago like that. Reduced from about £95 to £25 due to snags and 1/2 hrs work made them disappear.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 20/03/2010 22:01
Goober · 20/03/2010 22:04

Great minds and all that.

bellavita · 20/03/2010 22:11

Hmmm, I do normally like a good barter, but even if they had knocked money off it, it was still a snagged jumper at the end of the day - it wasn't my snag, it was somebody elses!

Shiney, sorry to keep banging on about this, but this is the deal.

Train from Ox direct to Manchester and will get in at 12.39, seat booked - your seat will have a little ticket on top saying it is yours, not your name, but it will correspond with the ticket you have.

Do you want an open return booked? which means that you can get on any train home the next day and you are not tied to a particular train, but it means that no seat will be booked and you will just go sit in a seat that has not got a reserved ticket on top of it. Or, I can book a specific train, but if you miss it, it will end up costing you more money.

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 22:16

I am a bit buzzed, both from the lager, and people agreeing with me on a thread in relationships where I thought I'd get a flaming.

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 22:25

Just opened FB, Yank. Upgraded the gnat's piss, I see!

iggi999 · 20/03/2010 22:26

Bella if you're still there - what sort of websites do you use to book trains? I haven't booked a train since I last had a young person's railcard. (so, last year obviously )

bellavita · 20/03/2010 22:38

I am here Iggs.

What we tend to do is go to Trainline, put in the details. It will tell you which company is best (trainline is just an agent), then go to the actual train website itself. Trainline will charge a booking fee.

So, when I looked under trainline, it might have said Great West Pennine Trains for instance, so I would just google their website and book direct.

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 20/03/2010 22:38

i have just watched Titanic and sobbed at the Leo and Kate love story somebody slap me

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 22:39

DIB, yes, we were looking for something else to drink, Spar is shut, and both not safe to drive (am a lightweight after pregnancy, 1 can has done me in).

Remembered we have a bottle of champers they gave us at the registry office when we got married. We were supposed to drink it at 1st anniversary or on birth of child, but never did. So we are celebrating....ermmm....Saturday.

Bottle in freezer, chilling. DS has been fed and put to bed again.
