Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

BoF, your thread is my thread of the day by miles, glad it all worked out.

Sazzles good luck for Friday, just look at is a a blip and restart next week.

Now will someone please take card or car away from me. Hit JL this morning as wanted to get some cushions for one of the B&B rooms and some plastic plates for our BBQ kit, came home with Gruffalo breakfast set for Easter for DD and a really soft rabbit for DS, some littgle chocolates for B&B guests for Easter Sunday, some georous Easter Eggs for DH and friends and two baskets so DC's can collect eggs in on Easter Sunday if I can cajole my mother to hide them before we come down.

All the rooms now have new TV's with freeview, DVD players and ipod docks, once the garden is done I am going to go for accreditation with visitEngland.

Am fine thanksmuch.
Now going back to RL. Will return later tonight.
MWAH!!

iggi999 · 24/03/2010 14:54

The rooms sound lovely
Did you happen to see any nice pouffees in JL then? Might be the finishing touch your rooms need.
Am out for a 30th birthday tonight so will avoid seeing him most of the evening thankfully!

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 15:25

Oh BoF I did laugh at the update on your other thread. I agree she thought you said 'sat' but if she ever realises, she'll be too embarrassed to say anything!

five your rooms sound fab - how many do you have and is it B&B or self catering cottages?

DiB too much food here, never too little. I eat because I'm bored, because I'm miserable, because something's gone well and I deserve a treat - any reason really. The other day DH bought a giant bar of Cadburys caramel and left it in the cupboard. He went out for a couple of hours and I ate it - along with some crisps to stop it being too sweet. I have no self control Am working on being a bit more disciplined and planning to be in better shape for 2 wks in a bikini in Sept! A good incentive...

VT new car sounds fab. I've never had a new one - how exciting!

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 24/03/2010 15:27

bof, so glad that poufflegate turned out well in the end

i howled when i read that she inhaled the shite leather smell, so funny

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 15:28

BOF so pleased all was well with your neighbour, I am still chuckling at her inhaling a deep breath

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 16:02

Dancing was a bit of a nightmare, DD had huge tantrums most of the way home resulting in screaming, kicking and biting me, which meant that as soon as we got indoors i dragged her up to her room and have shut her in. I am shaking with stress atm.

Bof - i really needed a laugh, thank you so much, and i am very glad all worked out ok

Fanny - sounds lovely. We were planning on DD having a little easter egg hunt in the garden too (if she is no longer devil child)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/03/2010 16:08

Fleecy - we do 2 rooms, 3 if a single or as part of a group.

LoveBeingAMummy · 24/03/2010 16:26

Excuse me ladies any room for a little another one? After this happened today I have to do something to sort myself out.

TotalChaos · 24/03/2010 16:36

ack, think we've all been there, lovebeingamummy.

bof - was howling at the po(o)uffe thread, glad neighbour took it so well!

shiney - aw sorry internet bloke has upset you. I'm in the twassock camp for him pushing for naked photos at this stage.

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 16:41

Oh no lovebeingamummy - please tell me he was more embarrassed than you?

It happened to me after having DD. As it happened I'd just found out I was pregnant with DS but only a month so it wasn't showing. I was still carrying a bit of weight from DD and wearing a 'floaty' top to disguise it

hello lovebeingamummy.... I have been there as well and the bloke in question actually tried to stroke my tummy (I had IBS bloating), I was but not as when a few months later we were talking at the school gate, about the things DC's say to make you laugh when he suddenly lurched across and whispered loudly, close to my ear that his DS was ''always bragging to his friends about how huge my cock is''... the man was a complete slime ball and it is the closest I have ever come to actually hitting someone. My skin still crawls at the thought of the repulsive man.....

Welcome anyway..... hi fleecey, how are you?

BitOfFun · 24/03/2010 17:03

Oh that's happened to me before. I was too embarrassed to admit i was fat and just 'mmm'ed, but then she started banging on about when was I going on maternity leave etc etc. In front of people. I wanted the ground to swallow me up

Evening all

BOF, so pleased that all is now sorted

Goober, more exercise???

Lovebeingamummy, like Fleecey I had the same thing happen to me, 1mth after I'd had DS2 (who was a whopper) the butcher up the road asked when I was due! He thought I was still 9mths pg...nearly stopped buying my nice ham off him, I can tell you. Nearly.

Iggi, oh love, is it all pre wedding stress stuff? DH and I were at each other throats leading up to our wedding.

Have had a fabulous day workwise, actually made some money, woo hoo. So that is what we were meant to be doing Nah, it is all getting busy which is fantastic (be prepared for me to be moaning about being too busy/not busy enough for forseeable future, sorry).
DS1's parents evening was good, except for being too boisterous with the other boys in the playground and not paying much attention to any written work. But his reading and maths is great. Can you tell I am in glass half full mode????

Mitts, could you try and push your art at all? You are soo talented and love doing it so much. You said you had a gallery interested before, I think?

Soon be wine time

bellavita · 24/03/2010 17:13

I'm back....

I love you all too

Dental treatment not so good! He couldn't find one of the canals. He said to me at the beginning "oh this shouldn't hurt but I will inject anyway..." Cue lots of rodding up and down with these different sized drill bits - cue some of it being ok and some of it not, he then decides that actually not all the tooth is dead and that is why it hurts. Did I tell you at this point I had forgotten to breathe? The stench was putrid. He had to wash the tooth out with this awful awful solution which smelt like bleach and I can only describe would taste like bleach - it tasted like it smelt! Every time he took the drill out of my mouth he would say don't close your mouth just stay like that because when you close you flood the tooth... I thought I was going to gag > Tooth is gonna hurt now for a couple of days he says till it settles down.

Hi LoveBeingaMummy.

Not seen you for a while Fleecy.

Fanny, I bet your rooms look fantabulous.

I bet everyone is envious at work of your new car Vinny.

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 17:16

Ouch Bella, I didn't want to say before but my root canal thingy was horrible, I know how you feel, my root canals were too small, hence tooth out.
Glad all OK now though
Rest up and chat to us.

I forgot to say, Fanny, your rooms sound amazing, one day when funds and time permits I will bring my brood for a stay. It all sounds wonderful and very idyllic.

bellavita · 24/03/2010 17:20

Lizzy, he did mention at one point mid drill that the tooth might have to come out

So the pain that I had at the beginning of February when I took the ab's that he had given me as a back up at christmas, was actually an abscess he confirmed.

Luckily tea is already made - I did it last night thinking I wouldn't feel like it. We are having curry and rice.

Glad you have made some money Lizzy.

BitOfFun · 24/03/2010 17:21

Oh poor bella - can you take anything for the pain?

Bella. Horrid, but it is done now. How about soup through a straw for dinner?

BitOfFun · 24/03/2010 17:28

Email sounds good, Shiney- did you get across that it was a bit rude to say the least?

OP posts:
bellavita · 24/03/2010 17:29

I could still end up dribbling using a straw Alice

BoF - I am trying to hold off with the pain killers to bed time, but I will take some.

I think you have done the right thing there Shiney. Very sensible.

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 17:33

Sounds like it's better out than in Bella if it smelled that bad.

Well done on the email Shiney.
