Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

OOH, tasty lipgloss, Bella, a new diet tip

MyCatIsABastard · 22/03/2010 14:01

OMG bella, I am buying that! I bloody love creme brulee. It's my favourite pud! Insisted we have it at our wedding, I didn't give a sod what anyone else wanted .

YanknCock · 22/03/2010 14:06

I'm back from GP and other assorted errands. DS now on antibiotics for ear infection. GP said if wasn't improving within 48 hours on its own and he was having persistant fever it was better to treat.

hells, glad you've got the appointment for the joints. Do let us know what happens, ok?

Shiney, yay for making the date!! Hope the S&B people can sort you out, I would help but am useless at that stuff. Will concentrate on the psychological preparation Try not to have too many expectations, say to yourself, 'I am going to go and see what happens' and don't build it up in your mind too much. Remember that even after chatting loads on the phone, it is still a different thing to meeting in person and it might be a teensy bit awkward. What am I saying, I don't need to tell you this after Jonny!

Am excited for you, but in a measured, rational way.

Mitts, hope you feel better soon.

Yogi went ages ago I think.

Lizzy, you are already fabulous

Vinny, yay for new car, and welcome to WW.

Trills, you can get reese's cups here, but not the mini ones usually unless you go to an American candy import shop. Then you realise you are paying about $8 a bag for something that costs $2 in the U.S.

iggi, I am also married to a one-nighter

Tracey---ewwww to your mum's boyfriend, waaaaay inappropriate.

MyCat, how annoying with your mum!

Spanx--you can get some (or a similar type of thing) with a hole in the gusset, but I would highly suggest NOT trying to wee through the gusset hole.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 22/03/2010 14:16

ooohh creme brulee lipgloss sounds yummy

Lizzylou · 22/03/2010 14:16

@ Yank, I have never tried to wee through the peehole, I deffo won't now!

How many of us are one-night wonders??

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 22/03/2010 14:19

i just realised that yogibikini is yogini of course i know who she is

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 14:21

gosh - I haven't either tried that weeing through the spanx hole either. I'd be way to worried about yankstylewethands

Bella - lip gloss sounds yummy!

I had chicken salad and was so hungry I also had some miso. I have got fed up of being stuck going or down a few lbs here and there over the last month or so - I may go back to phase 1 of the south beach to shift that last half stone. I know it works I'm just not keen on giving up the wine carbs again for 2 weeks/

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 14:22

vinny - please do not put the idea of a bacon butty into my head! I love them and also require that they have butter as well. So doubly awful!

BethAndHerBrood · 22/03/2010 14:25

Hi everyone. Just checking in, I've had a banana, and am just about to have some chips, had a funny sort of day - all over the place, been really busy, but not achieved much!!

Bacon Butty Lipgloss. Now THAT I would buy!!

bellavita · 22/03/2010 14:39

I am not sure if each colour is a different flavour, but the one I have is called Timothy and on the lid is a man who is in various stages of undress, the more you turn it round, the less he wears..... Pocket Rocket by Urban Decay. It also says on the lipgloss "Rub Me For Your Pheromone Fix"....

TrillianAstra · 22/03/2010 14:42

I have the rose and almond mini vaseline pot - I'm not really one for wearing much colour on my lips and I jut get hair stuck to lipgloss.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 22/03/2010 14:50

Sounds lush Bella, i want one too

dawntigga · 22/03/2010 15:52

Yes shiney I've succumbed and decided to get healthy - you don't mind do you, I have fat free, low cal, fab tasting chocolate bickits.

Ladies you made me lol and

MitsubishiWarrioress how about a corset style undergarment but done in fab luxury materials and soft boning - strech natch for our heavier days - with detachable sussy bits? I could make it so that the matching kickers (or panties if your American) that meet at the hip or attach in some delightful way to the actual undergarment.

Sazzles I have NO idea how much I weigh, but I'm a UK size 20 and want to be a 14 again so I can shop in Boden the high street.

Thanks hells I think he's pretty lovely, although at 0300 this morning I could quite happily have swapped him for a Bernese puppy.

Waves to Yank.

Here's my pl - it's not quite a fully fledged plan yet

Eat less fat - fat makes you fat. so everything I put in my mouth will have less thant 15% of it's calories coming from fat. Here's How you work it out:

Number of fat in grams x 9 = the number of calories of fat

(Number of calories of fat/total calories)*100 = % fat

I use to do this when I lost weight before and it works, I do it on everything I pop in my shopping trolley so I'm safe eating anything I bring home cos it's all less than 15% fat!

Walk everyday for at least 10 minutes pref half an hour.

Not today obv because I've had next to no sleep and an angry snotty cub to contend with.

If I don't do it for a day I WILL NOT BEAT MYSELF UP ABOUT IT AND NOT BOTHER BECAUSE I AM A FAILURE. I shall calmly look at the reasons why, decide if they were valid or not and put something in place so I have a fall back plan if it happens again. Hopefully

It'sAGoodStartTigga

TrillianAstra · 22/03/2010 15:55

That sounds like a good plan Tigga, not least because you have to do maths every time you want to eat something!

TrillsCanDoMathsReallyToox

bellavita · 22/03/2010 15:59

Oooh I need to do something...

BellaLovesHerNewLipGlossx

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 16:01

Hi there Tigga

I have been sick earlier- quick route to weightloss not withstanding, am feeling a bit rubbish. Coldsore at the side of my lip too, and a weird spot in the middle of my lower lip (not those lower lips)- have never had that before. Is it part of the coldsore, do you think?

OP posts:
TotalChaos · 22/03/2010 16:04

Hello ladies. Sorry you are poorly BoF, no idea as to the spot, suspect it is connected though to the coldsore.

Yank - hope the ABs kick in soon for your little lad

Tigga - sounds like a good plan, I do broadly similar - I count calories and fat grams as got high cholesterol.

Tracey - yuck to horrible mum's boyfriend, hope she chucks him soon.

Have a bag of Thornton's Turkish Delight chocs - 40 cals and 1g of fat per choc. Heaven.

NotEatenAllTheTurkishDelightYetTotalChaos

MitsubishiWarrioress · 22/03/2010 16:04

I am so sorry to be the one to bring the tone down, but through my streaming eyes I read yank's signing off as ''BeenThereDoneThatGotWetHandsYankingCock''

Now that, dawntigga, sounds like my kind of undergarment....shall I e-mail you my vitals? Lots of tiny buttons and velvet......

Bacon Butty lipgloss... now that's a seller and would be a plus on the man catching tricks....

I went out and was a good girl. I got some inks for the printer and did have a coffee but after an eyeball of some man-candy, my need to spend evaporated .

Tracey.... how crap about your Mum's boyfriend... does she know. How for you both.

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 16:06

Have namechanged for a thread but no biters really, even after I went on as me and called myself a troll

It's this one if anyone can take a look. Not a problem as such, just, um, an odd feeling.

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 22/03/2010 16:06

Aww BoF...You don't deserve to be ill... lol at 'lower lips' though....

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 16:10

Oh Mitts- I just barged in here whinging, didn't I? And now I see that your illing too . Are you tucked up with a hot drink?

OP posts:
dawntigga · 22/03/2010 16:12

BOF I had a 'friend' who I'd known for ages who then got sent down for child sex offences. I hadn't got a blardy clue about it! He was in a position that put him in contact with lots of children as well. I'm still not sure how I feel about that but I decided it wasn't something he did to me but something he did. Of course I dropped the slime ball like a piece of chewed up gum and haven't spoken to him since.

IHopeHeRotsInPrisonForTheRestOfHisLifeTiggaxx

MitsubishiWarrioress · 22/03/2010 16:15

It's OK BoF...
Iam pottering. DS has gone to his Dad's and DD has gone to a friends and I have caught up with work, so I am enjoying just 'being'.

I have an order for some cards so I might see if my eyes will stop streaming for long enough to do a few.....

Speaking of which. Where is the lovely Norma? Have I missed her or is she AWOL?

bellavita · 22/03/2010 16:17

Aww BoF and Mitts - you poorly girls

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 16:17

This fella was a head of a young person's charity, Tigga . I don't think there is any suggestion he has harmed kids though- it's adult women from what I've read. He ran a group for male survivors of abuse too. Makes you wonder, I suppose.
