Welcome to the latest in our series of healthy eating threads (26 and counting)!

The emphasis is on health (which is sometimes rude when we get chatting frivolously, as is our tendency), and weight loss where desired. I obviously don't desire it enough, as I am the same weight as when I started, but some of our regulars are mere shadows of their former selves ...

Do come and sign in here if you are with us, or want to join in- all welcome.

We try a variety of approaches, and there is always a lot of support and quite a few laughs along the way. Shiney is the head honcho round these parts, and we do get to be regaled with her embarrassing stories before the rest of MN, so that's always a big draw

Join us if you will!

so how has meal planing changed your life?
makes it easier for shopping of r1 i guess?

how long is your meal planner? a month?

hellsbelles · 27/10/2009 13:59

yes Ruby - you and I are the saddos meal planners and Carrie is not - or maybe she is a little bit if she didn't wonder what I was going on about

Actually - I'm getting confused now (easily done). Better try and get some work done.

But not before I ask BOF a bit more about lady garden trimming. Is it the done thing now? Of course I do a spot of the old bikini line but is one supposed to trim as well? I'm not up to date on groin etiquette .

TerryWogansCock · 27/10/2009 14:03

I meal plan

And i keep my garden neat

Carrie - yes it just makes my online shopping easier and I don't have that 'what the hell should I cook' feeling that I used to every evening. I've also found it forces me to do proper meals instead of rushing out to buy a ready meal in panic.

I only do weekly ones but I think a lot of people do fortnightly (which I may graduate to when I get good at this!)

I think Ruby may be more experienced in this area - as I've only just started - so I shall defer to her on this!

hellsbelles · 27/10/2009 14:06

oops x posts with Ruby!

Terry - I knew you would have a neat garden

TerryWogansCock · 27/10/2009 14:09

I only cook for one (myself obviously) but i plan my meals and cook enough for two (easy to follow a recipe for two) then i half it and have the other half for lunch the next day

Saves me a fortune in lunch money if i do it that way

carriedababi · 27/10/2009 14:10

well i suppose it also makes you think about what you will consume over the week, esp when your trying to be/being healthy

6 adult size meals alot, now thats work.
i only do 2 and then we give a bit of ours to dd

I can't meal plan much - we're too prone to last-minute changes of plan. I do buy 'stuff to makes meals' rather than 'random food that doesn't go' though.

Well I'm in the waiting room now, ready to update you all on my agony from my iPhone...a light trim now and again with garden shears is all I do, hellesbelles- hopefully it won't look like something out of a David Attenburgh film

I have just wimped out when the receptionist asked if I wanted a full BMI, bodyfat and weight analysis...er, no thanks. Now waiting with half a dozen other grimly fearful people to be called.

Cockavita · 27/10/2009 14:25

Shiney, blimey, I have read the thread. What a lot of goings on...

Diamond earings are pronged. Could have had the flat flush ones, but he said they were not as good value. If I could take a decent picture, I would, but I can't. Will get DH to do one tonight.

Welcome newbies . If you want some new healthy recipes for your meal planning just see our:RECIPE THREAD HERE

Feel free to add any of your favourites as long as they are not oxtail fried in lard with a guiness cream sauce

I would meal plan but am to contrary and would fancy something else other than on the plan. I just keep in meat & fish in the freezer, plenty of pulses and spices and fresh herbs and 1/2 fat creme fraiche or yoghurt and you can make pretty much anything

hellsbelles · 27/10/2009 14:30

cockavita - yipee - new earrings on order...did you get the type that you have to screw in (do you know what I mean?)! I had to as I always lose the normal butterfly type ones.

BOC - oh go on - then you can show off all your stats to us - I'd love to know all that stuff about me - it might actually scare me into action

hellsbelles · 27/10/2009 14:31

SazZa - things so much for the link - the stuff on there looks delicious

Cockavita · 27/10/2009 14:32

hells, no, they are normal butterfly.

SazZaVoom · 27/10/2009 14:40

BoF i would like to know my body fat stuff (and then promptly ignore it if it didn't give the answer i wanted)

Hope the extraction goes ok

Hells - you're welcome

hellsbelles · 27/10/2009 14:44

Bella - I get the impression you aren't absent minded like me so you should be fine. Cautionary tale though - my friend realised 30 mins after trying on a jumper that she had lost one of her earrings. She rushed back to the shop and by some miracle she found it twinkling on the floor near where she had put on the jumper!

VineGruesomeCock · 27/10/2009 15:12

BOF are you there? how goes the extraction?

TrillianSlasher · 27/10/2009 15:13

I think you should have the full BMI bodyfat workup, then get them to do it after the coil has been out a while.

BiteOfFun · 27/10/2009 15:25

Right, have seen the nurse, now waiting to see the doc. In some stupidly cramped inner sanctum of a waiting room where there are not enough seats so I am having to stand because a spotty BOY is in the last one next to his girlfriend- grrrrr

OP posts:
BiteOfFun · 27/10/2009 15:28

It is hot, airless, and presumably full of germs, like some of the inner sanctums I suspect are in the chairs...I have just had to give a pee sample for all manner of nasties, which they will text me the results of.

Can you imagine? Beep beep- hurrah, I've got chlamydia
