For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes it was from the form!! Highly dangerous

I will put a link up on FB and spread the word

Boco · 05/08/2009 23:07

Thank you

ABitWrong · 06/08/2009 00:15

I ate a nectarine

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/08/2009 11:51

Boco - I realise my comment about New Cross was quite rude, so apologies. Having lived in Suffolk for most of my life I find places like New Cross a bit overwhelming. Although staying in Camberwell for 7 months sort of helped me get over that.

Well done for eating a nectarine ABW

Boco · 06/08/2009 13:14

No don't worry, it was factually accurate. I think that's why I liked it though, after rural Suffolk as a teenager, it was quite exciting!

Greensleeves · 06/08/2009 13:16

hi folks

just popping in to ask where Franny is? [plaintive]

has something happened?

ABitWrong · 06/08/2009 13:29

Hello Greeny
She is Taking A Break
Apparently there is something called real life where she is

How is the visit going?

ABitWrong · 06/08/2009 13:30

I have honey on my elbow. I realise that honey isn't fruit or veg but thought it was worth a mention.

Pea soup.

Greensleeves · 06/08/2009 13:31

Hi ABW

the rellies have just buggered off because their van is fixed, they'll be back on Saturday

it has been pretty gruelling having them here although I have to say the uncle and my dad's partner have been great - cooking and washing up etc (dad v. well-meaning but hopeless)

at least it forced me to clean the house

but I have double earache and horrible chest and temp again now

I must eat more fruit and veg, much much more

ABitWrong · 06/08/2009 13:53

Oh you poor thing.
Glad you got a bit of help anyway.
Can you rest until Saturday?
Take care xx

TigerFeet · 06/08/2009 15:33

Mmmm I quite fancy a nectarine

Sorry you're still feeling shitty Greeny. Have you tried magic potion Kiki Superfood? Or not that desperate yet?

I am meeting Pink tomorrow

Ashtanga yoga sounds, erm, fun.

Boco · 06/08/2009 17:01

Oh no Greeny, are you still ill from before or is this a new ill? Sounds like you've been really rough for ages - are the steroids etc helping at all?

We're doing a house swap with a family I've not met before - they seem lovely via email. I'm having panic about state of my house and seeing it through their eyes and manically trying to clean. Going through cupboards is making me wheeze and sneeze. Am slattern.

mollyroger · 06/08/2009 20:14

carrot and lentil and onion (soup)
Apple
Plums
Lettuce,
pepprers
olives
onion
cucumber
cranberry juice.

no discernible excercise....

pinkspottywellies · 06/08/2009 20:35

Boco aren't you worried that they'll steal all your stuff and you'll get back to a bare house? How has it been arranged? How do you get into the other house? Where do you leave your keys? Where are you going? Sorry. What a lovely idea!!

ABitWrong · 06/08/2009 23:36

.

FrayedKnot · 07/08/2009 10:10

Morning everyone

Blueberries

Boco that sounds exciting....is it somehwere far away you are swapping with? Everyone has cupboards full of crap useful stuff, do not panic.

Erm...Molly how about pilates? I have an apple shape tendancy and getting worse as I get older, it's hugely annoying. General exercise in gym, and yoga, have helped a lot.

I go to a lovely yoga class and no fanjo poking or stamping on toes

Tiger can we start the oooh, not long now comments?

mollyroger · 07/08/2009 10:29

boco, the few tiny snaps i've seen, your house looks lovely. I have considered house swaps, but it would take me a whole year to get the house fit for strangers...

Boco · 07/08/2009 11:38

The house swap is in London, in a flat in Whitechapel. So, we can go to galleries and museums and they can go to the woods and the beach. She's the sister of a friend so there is a connection, although we've never met.

FairLadyRantALot · 07/08/2009 18:14

Hi All,
been a long time! Hope you are all alright
We have just returned from Germany...and my my, I don't think I have ever eaten that little fruit and vegetable in my life, lol...we were stuffed full constantly, so, no urge to eat extra fruit and vegetables...lol.
Anyways, need to get back to eating healthy (and losing a bit of weight, as usual) so...to make me focus again I thought I come back here

Boco, the Houseswap sounds fabulous

I am doing really well with the f&v intake today:
1 Apple
1 Nectarin
Strawberries,
Chinese Leaves,
Peppers,
Muchrooms (raw)
Carrots
Tomatos
Cucumber
Salad Onion

between 10-12 portions...not a bad start

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/08/2009 19:41

Ooooh, check you and your list out Fairlady It's good to see you back

banana
blueberries
apple x2
oj
cucumber
sweetcorn
pepper
tomatoes
mushrooms
rhubarb

Houseswap sounds interesting Boco. I think the NCT have a house swap register. I think I'd be too much of a coward to do it though

We're off on our hols in a weeks time and I have done NOTHING to prepare for it, I haven't even bothered asking dh if he has thought about it. He'd be happy just taking one pair of shorts, one pair of pants and some tic tacs.

littlerach · 07/08/2009 19:49

Lemure, I haven't done nayhting fo rours either.

I guess I'll pack next wedensday. And then panic when we have nothing clean
Though we only go for a week so don't need that much.

Salad
cucumber
tomato
courgteet and pepper in a quiche
coleslaw

then exactly the same for dinner, but with spinach pasta instead of quiche.

pinkspottywellies · 07/08/2009 20:14

Houseswap sounds lovely Boco. Sorry I was a little paranoid on your behalf. I feel better now I know there is a connection!

Naff all F&V today. I even gave ds my salad garnish from my sandwich Lots of walking though aaaand............................

I met Tigerfeet!!!!!!!!!!!

pinkspottywellies · 07/08/2009 20:58

Gah. You were meant to all jump in and say 'Ooh! How was it? What's she like?!' so that I can keep you all in suspense until I say.......

She's lovely. All glowily pregnant and neat little bump. And her DD is gorgeous and the DDs played together really nicely. And we had bought cake and biscuits cause we were both all organised with homemade goodies last time but had to postpone and this time we weren't prepared!!!

I had a really lovely day

Embuggerance · 07/08/2009 21:19

sounds a lovely day Pink. But all fruiters are lovely, of course! Goes with the territory....

pinkspottywellies · 07/08/2009 22:13

Of course!

Hee hee! I've just been looking back at my first few posts on MN. It would appear that newborn socks was the subject to bring me out of lurkerdom and add my first post! And I joined 10/10 about 3 months later after buying a mooncup from Franny!
