For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Roller disco

Mind, I'd fall on my arse!!

Happy Valentine's Veggers.

WE planned ot go out for lunch, with dds, but they have decided they'd rather stay in and play

So takeaway tonight I guess.

mollyroger · 14/02/2009 10:12

my friend booked it for her birthday - trouble is it's a primarily a children's party venue (leisure centre) and although we will have children with us, I'm, sure the venue will be expecting an additional 20 or 30 childless, slightly hungover reprobates in tow...

I do have some rainbow legwarmers as it happens...(nonchalent)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/02/2009 10:14

I have heart measuring cup They sound lovely.

The heart shaped choc brownie was lush, but v v rich. Almost too rich, but nice.

I got some red roses and a Beyonce CD (?!) (although very much appreciated) He also made and coloured in the wrapping paper. Sounds odd but is actually v nice.

Lol at being poncey for eating out 2 days in a row (shock!) ha ha ha. If you log onto the Pizza Express website and register they have probably got a new deal on.

The rollerdisco sounds retro fab, it makes me think of Austin Powers Goldmember

Have a good day one and all.

TigerFeet · 14/02/2009 10:28

DD went to a rollerdisco party last year - I wasn't the only parent having a go! No legwarmers though, rainbow or otherwise

I have just been given a mahoosive box of chocs

littlerach · 14/02/2009 10:46

Dh took a photo of one of the hearts from our wedding cake and doctored it and framed it.

Tis v cool actually.

I bought him specially mixed musli.

dd2 is cross that she doesn't have a present

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:02

I am still in bed. I am conserving my energy.

I forgot to get dh anything and he left something for me in London so he has gone to get smoked salmon and bilinis and I am going to make a cake if I peel myself out of bed.

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:03

Some children do get presents don't they, LittleR? Ours don't, poor deprived things.

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:03

There will be fruit salad coming my way shortly. I expect there will be rather too much underripe melon.

mollyroger · 14/02/2009 11:06

oh, he is redeeming himself - is in the kitchen frantically preparing a rather exquisite beef wellington as we speak - with shitake mushrooms and parma ham...there is much swearing going on

Boco · 14/02/2009 11:07

Are you well enough for tonight Guad?
dd1 has ear ache and woke up crying at 6. I've dosed her with calpol and she's ok now.

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2009 11:13

ds2 has rainbow legwarmers - the retro rainbow ones
he is so darn cute

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:14

M\mm, molly, I want that for dinner!

Boco - I feel better than yesterday but then I am still in bed. I didn't sleep very well. I feel a bit rough rather than ill. I would have to be pretty ill to not go after all this effort tbh. Dh says there's not much wrong with me when I sit up and say, mmm, can we have smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, orange juice and bilinis and don't forget the newspaper please.

Are you worried about catching the lurgy? Hope dd1 is okay, earache isn't nice.

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2009 11:14

rach i got dp a voucher for that muddy cook mix your own muesli for christmas

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:16

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2009 11:18

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:21

I was joking about Alpen. I don't like it either. I seem to have a lot of muesli base in my coop shop. I need to do something with it.

Dried mango is my grumpy in the pram treat too. Pret's one is the nicest but is quite sugary.

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2009 11:22

oh we have unadulterated organic dried mango
actually friend pointed out ds2 shouldn#t be having sulphur dioxide, so is only one suitable i think

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2009 11:23

i mean because of his eczema / allergy thing
was not the insufferable one upmanship it may have sounded

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 11:31

Is it that fairtrade orange and yellow bag?
They used to do it in slices but now it seems to be hard little shreds.

Pret one does taste unhealthy but it's lovely. I hadn't thought about the sulphur.

mollyroger · 14/02/2009 11:45

lol at you dried mango ponces....

franny, there are so amny cute things for babies these days (It is 8 years!! ffs!) it';s a bloody good job I ain't got one. Retro rainbow legwarmers would win over, well, food, to be honest

Boco · 14/02/2009 12:00

Do you take them to the doctor with ear ache? I don't think we've done earache before - don't know if she'd need antibiotics. She's very pale and he jaw hurts and she's taken herself to bed.

Guadalupe · 14/02/2009 12:10

Well, earache is often viral but if it's really hurting her I might take her just in case, especially if you have a night out.
