For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I've just had a nap

The therapist chappy was actually quite cathartic and useful. Perhaps it is just me that needs therapy.

I feel all snuggly and warm and don't want to leave the house to pick the children up. I always feel at peace with the world when I first wake up.

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 18/12/2008 18:12

tis quiet round ere

littlerach · 18/12/2008 19:15

Gah, I ended up helping out at work over lunch for 2 hours. Luckily I like the people and my job

I still managed to do ironing, clean bathroom and 3 bedrooms, wrap stepmum's present, hang washing around the house and MN. And read County Living a bit.

Dd2 was so tied after school (and grumpy). They are both in bed.
I have a glass of Baileys and some mini rolos from a child at work - rolos not baileys.

Same child gave me a beautiful felted star to hang on my tree - tis wonderful.

pinkspottywellies · 18/12/2008 19:51

DD only napped for about half an hour from 1 yr then dropped it altogether just when I got pg and could've done with the break!

Got to sleep eventually. DH has proper man-flu. He actually went to the docs today (he wasn't even registered even though we've lived here for 8 and a half years!) So I've been up since early and haven't had a lie in all week and had dd on my own all day, which is obviously pretty normal but not when dh is supposed to be helping the poor pg one while he's on holiday

Anyway. Ladies. I have the answer. Drum Roll Please Tinned mango.

Aye Than Gew

Mango, apricots, apple juice, banana, satsuma/kiwi, tomato, peas, carrots.

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 19:55

Some tinned mango smells like sick.

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 19:56

Sorry.

Hello!

Haven't read the writings on the yurt though, sorry. I have been 'off work' all week. Have cleaned floors and doors and all sorts. Has been therapeutic and rather good. And then today I did MN too. Is quite like being a normal person.

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:02

Though today wasn't that normal, as I had a dreadful misunderstanding with Boco involving leather driving goggles, and that was quite bad.

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:02
ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:02

[mooches about, peering at things in yurt]

It's winter FGS. Why haven't you lot moved into a log cabin or something?

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:03

The mind boggles

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:03

Can you smell the floor cleaner TooT? On my ankles I mean. I've been on my hands and knees.

Whats news? How has dd1's first term gone?

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:05

It's a bit sleepy in here TooT. Where have you gone? Are you being chased by a blue dinosaur?

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:06

Oh fury, stupid slow computer!!

It is Nice in here. And anyway, we are hardcore. Look, there is a real mango fire to keep us warm.

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:07

Gross. You've all gone all rustic and hardcore. Is your influence TooT. Think about PSW - she's pregnant. She needs walls woman, and a proper floor. I can't think Lupe has enjoyed the draftiness much either.

Tell me about dd1

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:08

Yes, it's the blue dinosaur.

I love you no matter how you smell

Dd1 loves the educational side of school, and the opportunities, and the Chinese and the sugarcraft, but finds some of the friendship pettinesses too much. Understandably.

SuperBunny · 18/12/2008 20:08

Tinned mango? Really? Wow.

My lovely friend came round this morning. I made stollen, Lebkuchen, apple french toast and mince pies and put out a plate of fruit. She brought a chocolate criossant, a peach danish, a strawberry tart and a mexican brioche type thing. There were 2 adults, 2 three yr olds and a baby so, all I have eaten today is cake. But I drank mulled apple juice (thanks to Lully)

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:09

[contrite]

[defiant]

[undecided]

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:11

lol. Mulled apple juice is a brilliant idea. How do you do that? I like the cosmopolitan mix of cakes there SB.

Oh good, well that's good isn't it. She sounds like she's getting quite a lot out of it, and so long as it is just pettiness then that is okay. Is she happy? She's cool.

TooTicky · 18/12/2008 20:12

Is anybody happy when they are 12? Nothing is fair. But she has taken up clog dancing

How are your dcs? And JJ?

SB, at mulled juice!

ahundredtimes · 18/12/2008 20:16

They are okay I think. DS1 always disappointed by something or someone it seems and taking everyone to task over everything. He had to write a personal statement for a secondary school - he said he enjoyed 'purposeful arguing'. FGS. So he's okay, bit weird. DS2 on v. good form, much calmer nowadays - thank god - quite jolly and funny. DD moody at present, and denying me the opportunity to give her silver shoes. Wants black everything.

I think it's fair to say we are ALL ready for the holidays. . .

I have to go and herd them upstairs now. Thank you for having me, I've enjoyed the visit. But take pity TooT, move into a cabin or something. Put out that mango fire. xx

FrayedKnot · 18/12/2008 20:17

Ah. I bought some tinned mango a few months ago. It smelled like sick.

I had to throw it away.

I really hope yours was nicer, Pink.

100 we do have a roaring fire in the pot bellied stove and big silk eiderdowns in here, y'know.

pinkspottywellies · 18/12/2008 20:18

There's a Nigella recipe for mulled cider that my mum's made before. Very yum and I guess you could do it with apple juice.

I still haven't started wrapping and I need to go and do it NOW.

SuperBunny · 18/12/2008 20:18

Cloudy apple juice, half an orange (studded with cloves then sliced), half a lemon, blob of honey, stick of cinnamon. Yum.

Hello ahundred!
