For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh, and he made me into the sort of scantily clad pirate vixen which, frankly, I reckon freud might go at....

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 15/12/2008 11:41

yes but the sex thing does change as you get older....
we all fornicated like spring bunnies in our teens and early 20s. (I am assuming you are not still in your early 20s btw, as i am very old myself )

This is what i mean about nostalgia being dangerous and deceptive!.

FWIW, I still get updates on my First love through my mother as she is friendly with his mother.

So the Sir Galahad who once forded a river to get to me on the other side when we had rowed; the Heathcliff who took me on wild moors ravaged me in forests...
who gothically threatened suicide when I suggested a break from each other, who wrote me reams and reams of poems, and sat outside my room all night once having driven 300 miles on a whim to see me (and I wasn't there!)....

well i cherish all those memories, as i am now middleaged and scaley and wrinkly, but he is not the same young Byron that I loved and I am no longer his faeire queen!

He is now 45, hairy, and earns £15k a year in a factory, is married to a woman called Paula and they have 3 children, none of whom are as gorgeous as mine and he writes complaining letters to the council as a hobby FFS!....

Do you see what I mean at all?

thenewme · 15/12/2008 11:45

No because I know it is all still there.

DH has never been as interested in bed as me and as I have got older I have been more interested. I hate talking about this, so private but there is no one in RL I could discuss this with. Sex isn't what keeps us together and we are really great friends and would be fine if we never did it again but, oh crap. It isn't just that. I miss him.

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 12:04

A lot of people end up having sex with an ex though don't they, as if they haven't quite had closure on it or feel it may be like it once was especially if things are currently a bit dull. It nearly always isn't what they think it will be like.

It sounds like you have a bit of a crush. I thnk crushes are meant to be enjoyed but not acted on in the main, though they can feel so painfulfully acute. I always look back on them and think thank god that passed, and like Franny says, always better to address your current relationship first. So hard though, when all you feel like doing is drawing a heart round their name on your pencil case as you gaze out the window.

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 12:06

and LOL at Paula with her hairy husband. It could have youuuuu, Fmv!

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 12:31

Yeah well, freud was always up his own, IMO .
There is nothing wrong with a good fantasy.

Anyway....back to earth....

Am going to make a massive casserole and Pasta bake thing, so will be over and above F&V quota.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 13:03

And now the stick insects are having a threesome....this is turning into a very depraved household.....[slightly faint emoticon]

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 14:26

Mornin' folk,

LR, you have a great name! Is that your dd i can hear wailing in the distance>

I wondered where OB'd gone. Hooray for a 2:1

FMF, work sounds stressy. Your description of nostalgia is a very good one. I often pine for things that were and it is hard to convince myself that even if I had what I had wanted, it would not be the same as it was in the past.

TNM, I'm sorry this is so hard for you. Can you focus on the good things about your DH, your children, the good times you have together?

thenewme · 15/12/2008 14:28

I am going to sort this.

thenewme · 15/12/2008 14:28

Can't get hold of DH on the phone atm.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 14:35

What are you doing, tnm? Are you ok?

thenewme · 15/12/2008 14:37

I have emailed my FL to tell him I need to have a talk with him and then I will tell him what has happened and go from there. I am trying to ring my DH to tell him what I am going to do and that I will leave this alone.

I have been doing a good clean and tidy in the kitchen and as bits of it look better I am feeling better. Like I am clearing the kitchen but really clearing my mind.

thenewme · 15/12/2008 14:38

Have had no fruit or veg (other than mushrooms) today so I will probably get expelled from this thread soon.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 14:39

tnm.......hope you are OK....We are here to listen and support.

Hi SB, How are you? and your DS?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 14:46

I Will eat extra F&V on your behalf so you are not expelled from the thread tnm. Take care.

My front room floor is covered with glitter and shredded paper. I love my DD and am overjoyed that she is getting better. She can cover the world with glitter and shredded paper for me at the moment.

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 14:55

Hooray, just got ds1's Beedle the Bard. It was sold out on Amazonuk so I got it in France and it only took three days.

It really looks like something from the hogwarts library and the little book inside has metals skulls and gemstones on. He's going to love it.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 15:05

Sounds fabulous Guad...

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 15/12/2008 15:25

Does anyone remember when I had my car door smashed by a rubbish truck going past as I was putting DD in her car seat?

Some muppet paid independent witness has written a statement saying I walked into the road whilst the lorry was already travelling up the road and opened my door into it.

Yeah right, whilst carrying a wriggling toddler.

Wanker. Am trying to contain bubbling rage whilst writing my slightly vicious response.

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 15:47

It is fab.

I remember that, OB. Do you think they've set up a witness then? How weird. Did you see her give her number to the driver or has she just appeared?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 15/12/2008 15:52

OB, I am so sorry, I can't think of any advice but for you...

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 15/12/2008 16:08

She's just appeared! There was no-one around, I was looking for a witness myself! There was a lady with a pram but she said she didn't see anything.

This person says they were in a car and pulled in because it 'was obvious there was no room to fit the lorry and anything else in the road' er, no, exactly.

I am calm now. Amazing the healing properties of gin juniper.

Ah well, luckily for me I have no no claims bonus, but it is a matter of principle...

Franny - I have almost entirely renounced DC. I just went off it. Miraculous n'est pas?

FrannyandZooey · 15/12/2008 16:22

evening all
well it's dark anyway
am still knackered but looking the other end of the day in the eye now, and not feeling so atrociously grumpy

satsuma (1)

hmm... not quite there. 8 not bad though.

poinsettia99divine · 15/12/2008 17:24

TNM you have probably moved on by now but what I meant was don't confuse a nostalgia for a past love with a very real and present love with DH

I wanted to say it like FMV, in fact I quite want to be FMV

hope you managed to speak to DH etc

hello to all other vegger lovelies, even if I am feeling a bit nibbled by goats

poinsettia99divine · 15/12/2008 17:25

OB, don't worry, I think Jane is a boring name and never use it, only internet phone people know it, annoying questions that they ask!
