For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franzo, you need to leave them some cheese with a polite note asking them to help themselves and then kindly leave!

So sorry for you....

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:09

yes dp says everything will get ruined at 60
he may have a point
the car seat cover says 40 deg
if we ruin that it'll be new car seat time really won't it
he was being slightly grumpy and sighish about money even before this happened

ahundredtimes · 26/05/2008 21:09

Yes. I imagine it does as full of toxic germ killing, environment damaging, stain removing stuff. So yes, then twice at 40 for baby skin.

ahundredtimes · 26/05/2008 21:10

Well for the things at 40 I would do with biological powder.

MrsCarrot · 26/05/2008 21:10

oh I don't know what I'd spray it with, not fumigation no, just a regular death to germs kind of spray, maybe actually disinfect an area where I want to put stuff.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:13

what about things like lovely wooden plastic toys? we found a website that says jeyes fluid for mice
what is jeyes fluid? is it toxic? how can we clean the toys with something that will kill mice wee and not do awful things to a baby when it sucks it?

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 26/05/2008 21:13

milton

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:15

FMF your freecycle story is magnificent
I am sure you are mortified but is superb anecdote
well done your dh

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 26/05/2008 21:15

Well, Jeyes fluid to kill off the germs. Then soak in Milton or something, and dry thoroughly?

Oh it's not nice this is it.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:15

yes I thought Milton
is it deadly enough?

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 26/05/2008 21:15

I would not clean baby things with jeyes fluid, I would put them in a big boiling bath with milton.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:16

oh Jeyes, you think, 100? wtf is it though? I am sure plastic absorbs everything so don't want to soak it in something that is akin to eg bleach

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:16

so many cross posts
I think I will try that MrsC

oh dear

thank heavens for all of you, you are so kind

ahundredtimes · 26/05/2008 21:17

Chuck them actually. Gawn. New baby, new sucky toys. What are they? Can they go?

JudgeThreadd · 26/05/2008 21:17

Jeyes fluid is a really strong disinfectant IIRC. But once you have disinfected, can you not just wash all toys in hot soapy water to remove the jeyes?

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:18

oh NO there is a peek a blocks wagon
god I loved that wagon
ds's little face playing with it

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 26/05/2008 21:18

Jeyes fluid for scrubbing dirty paths and sheds and the like, not for babies palates At All.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:18

I don't know, would you not think the plastic is porous - I am not convinced you can soak it in stuff and then wash the stuff off IYSWIM

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:19

I am with mrsC here and I don't even know what Jeyes fluid is
but it sounds BAD

JudgeThreadd · 26/05/2008 21:19

you have plastic toys

ahundredtimes · 26/05/2008 21:19

That was what I thought FMF. I'd want to do that. I would not want little bits of mouse pee on my blocky train thingy that's making you all teary.

Because if plastic absorbs bleach, then surely it absorbs mouse pee too?

Where is FMF's thread with the good story?

MrsCarrot · 26/05/2008 21:20

the peek a boo wagon will be fine

salmonella, and this is the main worry with mouse wee, is killed by hot soapy water. Hot soapy water and milton will blast it I am sure.

JudgeThreadd · 26/05/2008 21:20

noo 100, you must not see it. You will probably know the person involved!!!

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 21:20

ooh yes we do
I am sure Avi grassed me up already
she had told her dh we would only have wooden fair trade type toys here
they pissed theirselves laughing when they came to visit
