@DDClancy Thank you so very much for updating us. I really appreciate you taking the time, a lot. I am so sad to hear the news, and angry at this horrible illness. Tillly was a huge support to me when I was very unwell, and I can only hope that we were able to support her a little bit, too.

thesandwich · 26/04/2024 21:13

Joining in the toast to the lovely @Tilly

Enigma52 · 26/04/2024 21:37

To @Tilllly
May you be pain free and at peace 🌻🌼

Bastard disease!

Yorkshiregold · 26/04/2024 21:59

@DDClancy Thank you for updating us. In a few short posts @tillly showed me her wit and warmth. Sending love to all of her family & friends.

MothralovesGojira · 26/04/2024 22:03

This is my first visit to the Patience Inn so I'm having a dry white wine spritzer with plenty of ice
Here's to @Tilllly

May you now have peace our friend but you'll be sorely missed x

Penguinsa · 26/04/2024 22:10

Joining you all for a drink though just a lime juice and fizzy water and hoping Tilllly has found her way to the chalet school she loved so much in the sky, can be Head Girl by now.

The Inn sign is a one breasted Amazon in full warpaint. That’s what we are, amazons!
I am on the alcohol free gin and tonic tonight. Princess @Tillly we salute you!

Penguinsa · 26/04/2024 22:17

I've just invited the happy place cafe wide awake club which Tilllly was on and they have been asking about her to come over and join us for a drink if they are around this evening.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 26/04/2024 22:18

My first visit to the Patience Inn and privileged to be amongst all you lovely supportive virtual friends. Raising a Pink Kylie Prosecco to @Tilllly thanking her for all her support, kindness and just so sad she was taken so quickly - she really was a lovely person. 💕🪽

If anyone's not seen it there's a lovely photo of Daisy snuggling up to Tilllly on here.

She was so kind advising me on my dry eye symptoms with her “degree in eye care” 😂 I shall think of her every time I put the Hylo ointment she recommended into my eyes at night.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 26/04/2024 22:36

@Penguinsa I seen that pic it’s so lovely and natural!

Penguinsa · 26/04/2024 23:00

Yes its lovely, shows how much Daisy loved her.

lovinglaughingliving · 27/04/2024 00:12

I'm here, a little late but I'm here with my tea and M&S chocolate treats raising it high and lighting a candle to the lovely @Tilllly.
I miss your warmth and humour in the Wide Awake Club Happy Place Cafe 💔

PoopingAllTheWay · 27/04/2024 03:28

R.I.P @Tillly

sashh · 27/04/2024 04:01

Morning.

I'm sorry I missed the drinks. You are all welcome in the Happy Place Cafe for a post drinking, hangover breakfast.

There is also going to be an opening of an outside dog shower so we can all remember @Tillly's contribution to both threads and Daisy can be the first customer.

Don't worry about calories, they don't count in the cafe, and allergies / reactions also don't happen. The kittenbees are always excited to meet new people.

Oh that's so lovely, thank you for that.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 27/04/2024 11:29

Well its a gorgeous morning here in sunny Scotland and I have some good news to share. @tilllly passing has really shocked me at how quick things can change and given my future is currently quite uncertain DP and I have, after 30 odd years, decided we should get married! I've never wanted to get married although he always has and it just struck me that it was something I wanted to do whilst I could on my own terms rather than from a hospital or hospice bed which I always find so sad. So watch this space (for what will be a very small, quiet, wedding) but with a seriously nice dress 😀

Enigma52 · 27/04/2024 11:56

@Whatevershallidowithmylife ah that is lovely news!! Any idea on a date yet? Definitely post a
picture of " the dress"! 👗💃🥻

DP and I aren't married either ( 23 years) Neither of us have wanted to ( DP has been married before).

Things can certainly change very quickly, that is for sure.

Penguinsa · 27/04/2024 11:58

Congratulations on our engagement Whatevershallidowithmylife how lovely, small, quiet weddings are wonderful.

Thanks Wren Hope you will stay with us as long as possible though hopefully there's a lovely house and beautiful garden in heaven where all the MNers can be reunited with lots of tea and cake and whatever else they would like.

Thanks to the Happy Place cafe posters for popping over, sorry we were all out but having a tea and shortbread with you now. Its rare for everyone to be asleep in the night. I had a couple of vaccines in the week which made me fluish and I decided the best way to cure that was to go swimming, I managed 60 lengths with pool spinning but felt so dizzy since. Don't know why I thought swimming was a good idea. 😂Am supposed to be off to art gallery, drinks and 3 course dinner tonight but think if I have drinks I will be spending the night in A&E. Will go with DH who may need to carry me home even without drinks.

Hope everyone has as good a weekend as they can.

thesandwich · 27/04/2024 12:36

@Whatevershallidowithmylife that’s lovely news. Do it your way.
@Penguinsa hope you can rest and enjoy part of your lovely evening plans.
Sending good wishes to all.

MothralovesGojira · 27/04/2024 13:22

@Whatevershallidowithmylife
Congratulations! I hope that you get the wedding that you desire and that you find that kickass dress.

Enigma52 · 27/04/2024 16:05

@MothralovesGojira re: the menopause, it is certainly talked about much more than in years gone by. You are right, "back in the day" women were just expected to get on with it. But then I guess many didn't hold down high pressure jobs and perhaps there just weren't the additional challenges of daily life, like there are now, I don't know. It annoys me, how the menopause can still be described as a few hot flushes and that is it. A bit like cancer treatment: have your surgery, take your treatment and be on your merry way!

You are right, it may be time to rethink sertraline again. I am not at all happy with how things are going backwards right now. I can't even drive my car due to severe anxiety and fear, it just feels everthing has got out of hand. I find it hard to separate all the issues; menopause, cancer, life..it feels too much. I feel angry , angry that I am having to go through this shit for a third bloody time, when some don't get to experience it at least once in their life (yes that sounds bad I know!)

Anyway, I would definitely be raging at DP, leaving you with all the washing up the other night. Keep that pick axe at hand!

How are things with you otherwise?

Hope everyone is having a good as can be expected day.
Just off to do some weeding and get some vitamin D on my skin!
Then may bake a cake (of some description!)

nappybrained · 27/04/2024 18:15

@DDClancy thank you for letting us know @tilllly will be sorely missed. She has been in my thoughts like many last few days. All kindest wishes to her friend and family and know they will feel daisy's love and support too
It's shocking how it all seems to happen so quickly, although sometimes I feel that cancer makes time stand still intermittently.
Hug everyone tighter! And a g n t will be raised, never mind the hot flush!
