My nausea is so horrifically awful, every single day I wake up retching, I have actually vomited a few times but for the past week it has just been severe nausea. I can't do anything! I'm plagued by it. It is so much worse when I wake up and when I go sleep I'm literally gagging. H pylori has just come back negative so doc will refer me to gastro (so they said) but still waiting for that call booked for next week. I can't hack spicy food anymore and I'm wondering if I have gastroperiasis or severe gastritis. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? It's ruining everything it's so miserable

Op I haven’t read the full thread but just wanted to say I woke up with nausea for five years. It got worse. I vomited regularly (like morning sickness vomiting rather than food poisoning vomiting.) The nausea woke me up at 3 am sometimes. I actually slept with a bucket by my bed. Brushing my teeth was a struggle. I went to all of the doctors and did all of the tests. I was told “no this is nothing to do with your hormones or with gynaecology”.

I was on the mini pill. I don’t know if it was that but anyway it turned out I had a massive ovarian cyst and two large fibroids and had to have a full hysterectomy and ovary removal. The nausea went away the day after the operation and never came back!

Good luck to you x

Oh my. I didn't really think it could be a gynae issue...my stomach is in bits a lot of the time and I feel food in my stomach when I haven't even eaten, so I just assume it's a stomach issue tbh

The cause of this for me is acid reflux.

I would have hoped this would be the simpler answer but gaviscon doesn't help much neither does rennies

I had to get prescribed omeprazole eventually as at that stage the regular stuff wasn’t helping. It could be GERD, which they’d need an endoscopy to confirm.

emilylouisex1 · 30/01/2024 17:44

@TinkerTiger it really does scare me, the nausea is so bad, I think I need an endoscopy urgently. I can't wait months for this. I wonder could it be as simple as a hiatal hernia? I saw that can cause nausea badly... I just want to know what it is, the anxiety of not knowing why I'm so sick is scary

I've had stool tests done in the past, recent h pylori negative & calprotection last year slightly raised but not enough to be of concern they said. Never had a fit test or colonoscopy, nor have I had an endoscopy. I feel like I've been left for my issues to get worse 😭

emilylouisex1 · 30/01/2024 18:49

@worldwidetravel2017 ah can you? I didn't know! Would it be best to ask for a endoscopy or referral to gastro? I am eager to get this sorted tbh. Doctor is due to call me soon as I want to start some anti sickness, the sickness is what's debilitating me at the moment tbh.

Hiatus hernia here. I can't take ibuprofen. My sciatica is treated with nerve blockers. They put my husband on ibuprofen for a sporting injury OH my god was his stomach wrecked after a couple of weeks.

I wake up with nausea sometimes. I've thrown up in the middle of the night. You really need a gastroscopy if it's this

emilylouisex1 · 30/01/2024 19:15

Do I fall under the urgent sector due to the vomiting and nausea? My friends are telling me I've lost weight too although I don't see it...which is also in itself concerning.
But I haven't been able to eat much. I will push for an urgent referral if I can

I was so panicked, I felt like I couldn't breath that I had eaten a 6 course meal and I hadn't even eaten... it was horrible il never touch it again. & i am a bit frustrated that I listened to my doctor when they said it was anxiety... back in November I mentioned it but because I was riddled with anxiety they said it's probably anxiety induced. I had no stomach pain at the time or reflux so went with it. Now I have it all. I bet this was the beginning of it then too. Sigh.

Hi Emilylouise

I have the exact same thing started late October last year nausea out of nowhere all day everyday and sometimes vomiting I somehow struggled coped with it till the end of December then went to my doctor I felt that poorly constant nausea and vomiting like I had a sickness bug but sometimes I had nothing in my stomach doctor gave my cyclizine which helped a little and sertraline he was convinced it was anxiety also booked me off work for a month everyone seemed to tell me it was stress I didn’t feel stressed I enjoy my job.

im still on the sick to be honest I’m too scared to leave the house in case I throw up and not taking the sertraline as I feel it made the nausea worse however I am taking Nexium brought off Amazon my doctor referred me for a urgent endoscopy as I started getting pain on my right side too now however I’ve been told even though I’m classed as urgent it could be June 😥 the nausea and sickness has stopped out of nowhere for the past few days I’m not doing anything different I take Nexium in the mornings and that’s it i take cyclizine when needed also my blood pressure is very low my doctor isn’t sure why?

I’ve got to go back to work next Wednesday I’m refusing to take any more time off I just can’t afford it I’ve been off 5 weeks because I just couldn’t cope with the constant nausea and vomiting but now I’ve been told it could be June I can’t afford that time off I’m hoping the Nexium do keep working I have cyclizine for emergencies when I’m retching

I hope you get it sorted and feel better I know how awful it is 💐

@worldwidetravel2017
I have had a ca125 and it was within normal range, I have been debating a private scan but would that be worth it? What could it detect? Except the C word I imagine😭 it would break the bank a bit tbh if I was to go private

Sniff a lemon. Maybe put some lemon juice on a tissue and breathe it in.

emilylouisex1 · 30/01/2024 19:38

@Cantcope3211 oh my I do sympathise with you! It's honestly awful. But really?! June even for urgent? My goodness. That is long. So do you find the nexium helps better than the sickness tablet? I think my doctor wants to put me on a PPI as it does say it on my nhs notes, still haven't been phoned yet but receptionist called me before they closed and said doctor is planning on calling me tonight but may not get around to it so they said if she doesn't call I should contact the surgery tomorrow
