love i'm sorry the day has been so draining and still with no concrete outcome..xxx

Izabella · 27/03/2008 23:42

((((((hug))))) OJ. All you've done since Steve went into the hospice is to try & get him back home again. You must be exhausted with this all. I wish I could could bring him home for you. I know what its like to miss them so much that you physically ache to be with them. No words can take that pain away and fill that void. Just sending my love. xxx

triplets · 27/03/2008 23:45

I can imagine how lonely you must feel once the kids are asleep, it is little consolation but we are all here with you and for you, just wish we could do more xxxxxxx

onlyjoking9329 · 28/03/2008 01:58

Thankyou all for just being here for me .
it is a great comfort to read all your words and that although it is a diffiult place that we are in, to know that I can share & offload means a lot when the person that I usually share thing with doesn't really understand what is happening.
I am hoping that I can get to sleep soon and that tomorrow is a better day.

dooneygirl · 28/03/2008 02:56

I'm so sorry they couldn't get it together and figure out a way to get Steve home for you. Here in America, all they gave DH to help out with MIL was someone 3 times a week for ONE HOUR each. Hope they can sort things out quickly.

DH and I send you our thoughts and hugs.

ChutneyMary · 28/03/2008 05:42

OJ, I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. x

imaginaryfriend · 28/03/2008 09:19

Thinking of you. As always.

onlyjoking9329 · 28/03/2008 09:46

I did get some sleep. I feel ready to face another day and a couple more battles, I have to chase up the blinds that are still not sorted out, I need to chase up the car insurance claim too. Got a letter this morning to say our allotment needs paying for the next year and I dont know what to do, should we keep it or let it go, we've not been up for nearly a year but it has been looked after by some other allotmenters.

TheMadHouse · 28/03/2008 09:57

Morning OJ.

Just to make you smile I misread it as I am ready to face a few more bottles.

Will you use the allotment after Steve has gone or will it be too difficult?

onlyjoking9329 · 28/03/2008 10:23

I am always ready to face a few more bottles, I wonder if the funding panel will fund all the rum I have consumed
Dont know about the allotment as I would have to get someone to do the heavy digging as I have had a few back ops already. It would be nice to keep it as a very peaceful place with loads of memories.

sophiewd · 28/03/2008 10:37

If you can find someone to do the digging then keep the allotment, it will probably be somewhere that you can go and have a few hours to yourself.

TimeForMe · 28/03/2008 10:46

Hi OJ. I am so sorry that things didn't get sorted yesterday, it makes me so angry, Steve's time is so valuable but they put more worth on their budget! You are an amazingly strong woman OJ, I think I would have lost it with someone by now! I am thinking of you xxx

trulymadlydeeply · 28/03/2008 12:10

Thinking of you - you are amazingly resilient, OJ. But so sad you have to be ...

Lots of love,

xxx

3NAB · 28/03/2008 14:19

Thinking of you, OJ.

Good luck for Tuesday.

I would keep the allotment if you can.

onlyjoking9329 · 28/03/2008 16:44

Steve in a lot of pain today the swelling is much worse so the steroids have been increased. He was not very responsive today and slept most of the time only waking and pointing to his head to indicate pain. He had tears rolling down his face and all I could do was hug him tighter until he went back to sleep.
the girls know that daddy won't get better, but seem to have taken the news quite well.

stleger · 28/03/2008 17:06

What can anybody say? I hope you can keep the allotment, it sounds a good place for you. I hope the medication helps, take care.

LittleMissNorty · 28/03/2008 17:51

Oh OJ .....my heart aches for you all....

I don't know what to say....but glad you told the girls....

{{{{hugs}}}} for you

robinpud · 28/03/2008 18:01

OJ

Klaw · 28/03/2008 18:02

((((((((OJ))))))

As for the allotment, was it important to Steve? If it was, and you can afford to keep it on, would it be a nice place to scatter his ashes there and then it will always be a place of refuge for you and kids that will always be a part of Steve?

Just a thought, feel free to ignore!

3NAB · 28/03/2008 19:11

at Steve's tears.

I feel frustrated there is nothing I can do. I know I can't do anything for Steve but what about you, the girls, your son? Happy to send surprises through the post - little pick me ups? PLMK.

You have my email.

onlyjoking9329 · 28/03/2008 19:47

the allotment was important to steve but i don't think we would scatter his ashes there, they built some houses on some of the allotments a while back so i think they will probably get rid of all the allotments within a few years.
