Insect bite? It looks a bit serious.

RollinRollinRollinRawhide · 02/06/2023 22:06

Bullseye rash? Are you near wooded areas or parkland? Do you have a dog?

endofthelinefinally · 02/06/2023 22:07

Do you feel unwell at all?
Have you been walking in woods or fields?
I wonder if it could be a tick bite.

SoupDragon · 02/06/2023 22:07

tick bite?

schloss · 02/06/2023 22:07

I react like that to a gnat or horsefly bite, but also have a quick check at bullsye rash for lyme disease, does look quite similar.

Saisong · 02/06/2023 22:07

Looks like a bullseye tick bite. That is a serious risk for Lyme disease. You need medical advice quickly, and probably antibiotics

This is a 111 job if you are in England. You need to talk to a professional about the possibility of Lymes as others have said. The sooner treated, the better.

Overthebow · 02/06/2023 22:09

Phone 111 and try and get an appointment to get seen. You likely need antibiotics.

Itsasunshineyday · 02/06/2023 22:09

That's a tick bite and you need to get medical treatment straight away. No ifs no buts.

CC4712 · 02/06/2023 22:11

Please get that seen tonight! I agree it looks like a tick bite.

endofthelinefinally · 02/06/2023 22:11

Agree with all PP saying you need medical attention asap.

Iseethesilverlining · 02/06/2023 22:11

As others have said, classic tick bite bullseye rash - need to seek medical attention soon (not leave till Monday) and they are likely to start you on antibiotics, possible up to a 28 day course.

User19844666884 · 02/06/2023 22:12

If you get antibiotics quickly then it’s easily treated, but can have serious long term consequences if you delay. Please phone 111 to get seen ASAP. The quicker the treatment the easier it is to sort out.

tweener · 02/06/2023 22:12

Looks extremely like the bullseye rash we are warned about with ticks that carry Lyme's disease, which can be very debilitating. Would get this checked out asap.

Mumma2Ro · 02/06/2023 22:13

Okay thanks all. Calling 111 now

Just here to add to the chorus of tick-bite bullseye rash which definitely needs urgent medical attention. Call 111.

My friend recently had a tick on her, the gp told her to go to A&E for removal.
They did remove it and said if she becomes unwell she will need antibiotics. I was surprised they didn’t automatically treat but seemingly they don’t.

friedgoldeggs · 02/06/2023 22:13

Agreed with everyone else, although I'm not a medical professional it definitely looks like a ticks bite that has given you a bullseye 🎯 rash (which can potentially cause Lymes disease) You'll need antibiotics asap. Good luck OP!

endofthelinefinally · 02/06/2023 22:14

Mumsnet is great.

schloss · 02/06/2023 22:15

The tests for Lyme are known for giving false negatives, so even if get a negative result you should be given antibiotics anyway.

SixKeys · 02/06/2023 22:17

I had exactly the same on my arm, was a tick bite (no tick to be seen) and I had to take antibiotics for a month.

endofthelinefinally · 02/06/2023 22:21

You should warn your friends and check the puppy OP.

Mamofgremlins · 02/06/2023 22:28

Just a thought, it might be worth checking puppy over for ticks and bites also? Hopefully 111 is helpful op.
