Some say tooth pain is one of the worst pains to have.

What would you say the worst pain is you’ve experienced?

Until a couple of weeks ago, childbirth. Now it’s a tooth abscess. Without a doubt. Nothing comparable!

Rockandgrohl · 04/10/2022 20:11

Wisdom tooth abcess....worse than childbirth by a long way! Ear infection and a burst eardrum comes a close 2nd!

gamechangling · 04/10/2022 20:16

Scratch to the surface of my eye.
Way way worse than childbirth.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 04/10/2022 20:23

I've had my fair share of tooth abcesses including a wisdom tooth thanks to a severe dental phobia. But...

I would say a torn intercostal muscle, absolute hands down worst pain I've ever had, I went to A&E on my Drs advice because I couldn't manage the pain and it was affecting my breathing.

Screaming in agony, the Dr presses the area hard I react and was told I wasn't complying because I couldn't communicate straight away, thankfully someone was with me who could advocate. Anyway I was given 1 shot of morphine and then had to manage on my own. I ended up taking codine by the mouthful that was prescribed for someone else and for 3 weeks I laid on my side only getting up up to wee because I was in absolute and total agony. It was traumatising, and it still huts 4 years later if I move funny, or sleep funny.

DeeofDenmark · 04/10/2022 20:59

@OneDayIWillBeOrganised yes this has happen to me twice but you are the only other person on this thread to mention it. Every time there was a slight change in light levels it was absolute agony.

Damaged cornea.

It is an unendurable pain. It makes you sick and like you are going to pass out.

Way worse than childbirth for me.

FLOWER1982 · 04/10/2022 21:04

Ruptured ectopic pregnancy and 2 x 48 hour labours with only gas and air. One labour I was back to back. No it wasn’t quicker the second time round!

OneDayIWillBeOrganised · 04/10/2022 21:11

@Tilda77 oh no!!!! I've got an operation to remove prolapsed piles next week and now I'm terrified!

Hope your operation goes well and your experience is not as painful as mine was. Unfortunately it's a part of the body you still need to use while it's trying to heal. Good luck

Steroid injection in my finger. It was quite brief but it was intense! And I've given birth without pain relief!

lemongirl1985 · 04/10/2022 22:07

Second childbirth. First and third were a walk in the park. The second hurt so much I'm still amazed I didn't just die of pain. All were without pain relief but so so different!

Bootsandcat · 04/10/2022 22:10

Internal bleeding after c section - only given 1.5 paracetamol every 4 hours…

I had steroid injections in my toe joints. It was horrendous. They couldn't get the needle in as the bones were too close together. Lots of poking about for all four injections. I rocked and screamed.

whereareyousleep · 04/10/2022 22:19

I'm gonna go with a top 3 of

Labour 2nd in particular with zero pain relief as gas and air wouldn't work and he came quick!

Tooth abscess

Migraine/cluster headache honestly though I was dying had MRI and lumber punctures etc
