What is this rash? Pic

For the love of god I turned 30 last week and my body is broken. Incase any of this is relevant I'll put down each ailment if someone has a magic pill I can take to fix it all.

Beginning with December, dodgy long heavy periods, pain during sex, gynae said I had a bulky uterus, stomach hard and uncomfortable, very bad smell from inside vagina mainly during periods and after but still a smell every day that is 'off'. Sti tests negative had ultrasound scan last week, still waiting to find out what is what with that.

Last week, small rash started on bum thought I'd scratched it somehow, gradually the rash has spread to both bum cheeks and my thighs. Feels like little raised pin pricks at first but then they get bigger and join up. Sore and itchy at the same time, none have popped or had anything come out. Never had a rash like it.

Few days after the rash I notice I have very strong smelling urine did a urine dip that I had at home it was positive for nitrites and protein but not leukocytes. Gp questionnaire to get AB's was rejected because my only symptoms is the smell and the amount of urine is quite a lot more than usual but no pain or burning etc. HELP. I'm taking in urine samples tomorrow (how small are the tubes now!?) but just so curious about this rash too if anyones had anything similar

Looks a bit like shingles

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 22:15

I wonder if it could be a bad thrush infection. They can cause similar symptoms to UTI and the rash could be fungal as well?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 25/07/2022 22:15

I'd take Piriton and stop using any shower gel or soap apart from something bland like Aveeno. Antihistamine cream might help too.

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 22:16

Yes does look a bit like shingles but is unusual to have it in such a wide area and on both bum cheeks and thighs.

Penguintears · 25/07/2022 22:18

While you're waiting for results you could try a fluconazole tablet and also BV pessaries for a week and see if that makes any difference.

hedgehoglurker · 25/07/2022 22:24

I'd initially try antihistamine pills and hydrocortisone cream, as it is itchy and looks like hives.

gertrudemortimer · 25/07/2022 22:31

I had a telephone appt with the doctor today about the rash and urine stuff. She's prescribed me 30 days fexodebadine hydrochloride 180mg and e45 itch cream. I suppose I'll know soon enough if it does the job I'm just curious as to what kind of rash it is my legs feel kind of 'tight' and I've been getting defined marks from wearing socks on my ankles so I think my legs are swelling but it isn't anything extreme. I do have bad allergies to animals and experience hives but I don't think this is hives they feel like blisters hurts to sit down or lay in bed.

I've previously done BV treatment for my uterus ailments and had a cream thing too but neither changed the symptoms unfortunately.

Fexofenadine Envy

Have you changed your laundry habits recently? New detergent, shorter washes, fewer rinses, cooler temps? The prescribed antihistamines will hopefully work soon.

I once had a major outbreak of hives where I had huge purple blotches over most of my body, different in appearance to other hives instances. I was also prescribed fexofenadine plus piriton, which took a little while but worked.

gertrudemortimer · 25/07/2022 22:48

@hedgehoglurker no nothings changed with laundry or soaps. I'm glad you shifted yours with this medication hopefully it will do the same for me. I'm a bit apprehensive about taking these tablets for 30 days as antihistamines usually make me incredibly tired but I've read online they might not cause as much drowsiness as others

The rash is just getting worse and spreading. I've had 5 days of antihistamines and they are not doing a thing. The rash is hot to touch, non blanching as far as I can tell in the mirror but it is difficult to be 100% it itches and it hurts, it feels like blisters. The most infuriating thing about it is that I can't see it! I've also got 5 enlarged lymph nodes on my groin which I think are either from the rash or my uti. I'm now taking two different AB's for uti and my gynae problems as ultra sound scan came back clear

I'll post new photos. Does anyone have a clue now?

If this is only on your bum, have you bought new underwear recently? I had a reaction to latex in my tights once and it looked a bit similar

gertrudemortimer · 29/07/2022 21:27

@StandUpForYourRights no I haven't bought new underwear, used different products or soaps. It started on one bum cheek but it's now nearly all the way down the back of one of my thigh's. It starts as pinprick itchy spots then develops in to the big raised itchy spots my skin feels so textured it's disgusting I want to itch it but when I even rub it it's very painful

Impetigo?

unicormb · 29/07/2022 21:30

Looks exactly like shingles to me. I've had it three times so I know it when I see it.

SeaToSki · 29/07/2022 21:36

You need to be seen by a doctor. A telephone appointment just doesnt work for rashes. You need to get really pushy with the doctors office as the spreading is not a good sign

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/07/2022 21:38

I'd go to urgent care with that now it's spreading.

gertrudemortimer · 29/07/2022 21:38

@unicormb would it be on two different sides of the body and covering such large areas? The gp took a look yesterday in person and she didn't have a clue she just told me to go back in a week if there's no improvement

Can you do an e-consult and upload those pictures. Looks very sore.

Or a reverse image Google search may give some clues

WilsonandNoodles · 29/07/2022 21:40

It looks a bit scabies like to me and the description and location match. Is it worse at night?

Runningupthathill01 · 29/07/2022 21:43

Shingles is only on one side of the body. Mine was just like chickenpox spots, not like your rash at all.

Elisheva · 29/07/2022 21:46

I wonder if it’s thrush, or another fungal infection. It may be worth trying an anti fungal treatment.
If you can’t see your GP you could try a pharmacist?

gertrudemortimer · 29/07/2022 21:47

I don't think I can reverse image search from my phone. I've just uploaded a photo and god only knows where it went to

@WilsonandNoodles it isn't any worse at night but I'll look in to scabies.

I didn't say on my first post today but I did get another gp appt yesterday as I was in pain in my lower left abdomen caused by the uti which was confirmed from the sample I did and groin lymph nodes were then enlarged too so I asked for a face to face appt with a doctor.

Have you had an STI check? I presume you have probably already had a google and seen what the potentials could be with that rash and those symptoms.
