What is this rash? Pic

For the love of god I turned 30 last week and my body is broken. Incase any of this is relevant I'll put down each ailment if someone has a magic pill I can take to fix it all.

Beginning with December, dodgy long heavy periods, pain during sex, gynae said I had a bulky uterus, stomach hard and uncomfortable, very bad smell from inside vagina mainly during periods and after but still a smell every day that is 'off'. Sti tests negative had ultrasound scan last week, still waiting to find out what is what with that.

Last week, small rash started on bum thought I'd scratched it somehow, gradually the rash has spread to both bum cheeks and my thighs. Feels like little raised pin pricks at first but then they get bigger and join up. Sore and itchy at the same time, none have popped or had anything come out. Never had a rash like it.

Few days after the rash I notice I have very strong smelling urine did a urine dip that I had at home it was positive for nitrites and protein but not leukocytes. Gp questionnaire to get AB's was rejected because my only symptoms is the smell and the amount of urine is quite a lot more than usual but no pain or burning etc. HELP. I'm taking in urine samples tomorrow (how small are the tubes now!?) but just so curious about this rash too if anyones had anything similar

@Elisheva yeah I think I will get some anti fungal cream. I asked the gp if she thought it could be fungal and she said it's probably something viral but I will try anything at this point

@EllaPaella yes the gp tested me for a couple when I went in May before she referred me to gynae. What are you thinking it could be std wise?

Poor you... must be driving you mad. Afraid I can't help with what it is.. you definitely need to see a doctor, not a phone appointment. Do you have a walk in clinic you can attend?- or If you are able to, I would go straight to a private dermatologist asap. If your gp doesn't know what it is, they'll just refer you anyway and you'll wait ages to be seen. Looks so uncomfortable and the spreading is a worry. Good luck x

Yesandwhat · 29/07/2022 22:02

I could have written this post myself. Similar rash on my wrist and inside of my bum cheeks. Very painful and weeping.

gertrudemortimer · 29/07/2022 22:09

@Moon22 thank you. The gp said she'd try steroid cream if no improvement and then it would be referring me to dermatology. I could pay for a private consultation but I couldn't afford much more than that. That was my issue with the private gynae, I could pay the initial fee but then he recommended an ultrasound scan and it was £500 which was too much money for me.

@Yesandwhat oh no! How long have you had it for? Does it look the same as mine? Mine isn't weeping yet so I have that to look forward to! A soggy arse, fabulous. I hope you're okay. What creams/tablets have you tried? What did your doctor say?

Deary me, poor you, it looks dreadful. I have no idea what it is but I do know the wrong creams can send rashes into overdrive, can't remember if it's steroids on fungal rashes or fungal creams on some other rashes. Hope you get it sorted soon and the wee issues.

Mollymalone123 · 29/07/2022 22:32

It doesn’t look like shingles. I once had pityrussis rosacea which you can get after a viral infection.the rash lasted weeks and I didn’t feel I’ll with it but it did itch and spread over the course of a few days

Mollymalone123 · 29/07/2022 22:33

Pityriasis rosacea! Stupid phone 😂

newmum1976 · 29/07/2022 22:40

Monkey pox ?

You could be lucky with a private consultation. Sometimes they will give you nhs prescription. I just think you really need to see someone with an expertise in skin and rashes. Gps can't be experts in everything- which is why they refer on. It could be something that will clear up quickly, with the correct diagnosis and treatment. Good luck x

JolieJ · 29/07/2022 22:46

Seborrheic Dermatitis possibly?

Have you started anti depressants recently by any chance? I break out in random rashes when I'm on them

User639921 · 29/07/2022 22:55

Looks a bit like scabies

MakeadealwithGod · 29/07/2022 22:59

Scabies does affect the buttocks.

BobbyBleu · 29/07/2022 23:14

It does look a lot like scabies.

gertrudemortimer · 29/07/2022 23:51

I have looked at scabies a few times but I can't see tracks or tunnels anywhere on my body also the size of the rash is big compared to what I've seen online. I'll upload another photo so you can see how big it is in comparison to my body. May as well at this stage what the hell. I will be going straight back to the gp on Monday I can't believe how bad it's got

Oh bless you op that looks so sore!

unicormb · 29/07/2022 21:30

Looks exactly like shingles to me. I've had it three times so I know it when I see it.

That's 💯 not shingles.

allboysherebutme · 30/07/2022 05:22

I'd go to the hospital. X

User639921 · 30/07/2022 07:24

It does look quite large for scabies, l had scabies years ago and it was more widespread around my body and on my hands and wrists, very itchy and a bit smaller. Could it be a fungal yeast infection as it is an area where you would maybe expect to see something like that, usually covered up and warm. I would definitely go and see GP fairly urgently.

DeathMetalMum · 30/07/2022 07:33

I'd suggest fungal. I don't think scabies as you can often see the tracking or burrowing and I can't see that in the photo. Pharmacist's can often be good with rashes, particularly if you list what you have tried already. I'd see if you can pop in to see one today if you can. There are options for fungal treatment over the counter.

PuppyMonkey · 30/07/2022 08:02

Oh bless you, OP that looks like a trip to Urgent Care centre to me.

I’m just checking, you have done the glass test thing haven’t you?

OReillyTheOneEyedTelescope · 30/07/2022 10:41

Is it itchy?

OReillyTheOneEyedTelescope · 30/07/2022 10:48

Like really itchy?

I'm going to throw out a few things but it's hard to tell from your picture whether it resembles any of these but maybe Google and see!

I had a v similar rash and was tested for a few things. First they thought it was guttate psoriasis (or a type of psoriasis) and a reaction to a virus I must have had. Then they tested me for coeliac disease in case it was dermatitis herpetiformis.

I was eventually diagnosed with a form of psoriasis that had become infected with the cold sore virus (I have no idea how - so a herpes simplex infected rash).

If your rash keeps on spreading, or spreads quickly, I would get it seen to sooner as widespread skin rashes can be serious.

Yarnasaurus · 30/07/2022 10:51

My first thought was also psoriasis.

catfunk · 30/07/2022 10:55

Have they ruled out intertrigo ?
