What is this rash? Pic

For the love of god I turned 30 last week and my body is broken. Incase any of this is relevant I'll put down each ailment if someone has a magic pill I can take to fix it all.

Beginning with December, dodgy long heavy periods, pain during sex, gynae said I had a bulky uterus, stomach hard and uncomfortable, very bad smell from inside vagina mainly during periods and after but still a smell every day that is 'off'. Sti tests negative had ultrasound scan last week, still waiting to find out what is what with that.

Last week, small rash started on bum thought I'd scratched it somehow, gradually the rash has spread to both bum cheeks and my thighs. Feels like little raised pin pricks at first but then they get bigger and join up. Sore and itchy at the same time, none have popped or had anything come out. Never had a rash like it.

Few days after the rash I notice I have very strong smelling urine did a urine dip that I had at home it was positive for nitrites and protein but not leukocytes. Gp questionnaire to get AB's was rejected because my only symptoms is the smell and the amount of urine is quite a lot more than usual but no pain or burning etc. HELP. I'm taking in urine samples tomorrow (how small are the tubes now!?) but just so curious about this rash too if anyones had anything similar

Oh heck OP. I thought my eczema was irritating, but it's nothing compared to this. I hope you get some answers soon. I do wonder if it's your immune system reacting to something and going into overdrive.

gertrudemortimer · 09/08/2022 07:57

@picklemewalnuts that is what it reminds me of! It was the same on my bum it starts as these small pin prick spots. I live in Yorkshire and I've not been in any bright sun, felt uncomfortably hot or anything like that at all for the past few weeks and I was working all weekend when it was sunnier. It's rained a lot lol!

@HelloThereObiWan it definitely is. My skin has felt tingly and itchy since last week so I knew it was coming. Even my ear lobes! My scalp is so dry and flaking. It is a bit like my scalps been burnt and when the flakes come away my hair goes with it.

Hmm. There are some mysterious allergy type responses to really odd things- water, sun, light for example.

Have you tried staying totally covered up, and using oil/cream to wash with? Basically only wash the areas that 'need' it, by smearing diprobase type cream in the area, giving it a good massage, then wiping it off with a damp cloth?

I honestly don't know how you manage hand hygiene though. I've done the only washing with oils thing, but used diprobase and water for my hands.

The rash is just getting worse and spreading. I've had 5 days of antihistamines and they are not doing a thing. The rash is hot to touch, non blanching as far as I can tell in the mirror but it is difficult to be 100% it itches and it hurts, it feels like blisters. The most infuriating thing about it is that I can't see it! I've also got 5 enlarged lymph nodes on my groin which I think are either from the rash or my uti. I'm now taking two different AB's for uti and my gynae problems as ultra sound scan came back clear

I'll post new photos. Does anyone have a clue now?

That is shingles . Have you sent the pics to your GP ?

I've just read this . Definitely shingles. The tingling is a classic symptom

@picklemewalnuts I've got another gp appt for this morning so I think I'm going to ask for a referral to have an allergy test, is there anything else I should ask them? I don't know why I've booked it I don't think they will be able to help.

My mum is allergic to the sun/UV. The only thing is my back has not been in sunlight for over a month. I still need to do my blood sugars too I had a bit of a detox day yesterday I only drank decaf tea and water I do not feel hungry at all

Do any of the doctors/GP know it's getting worse?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/08/2022 08:35

Sorry x post.

ItsNotNormalLove · 09/08/2022 20:19

How did you get on this morning @gertrudemortimer ? I'm sorry to see it's spreading and I'm so curious, as you are, to see what it turns out to be. It must be hell if you're in a part of the country that's hot!

loopycurtains · 09/08/2022 23:02

Also wondering how you went at the doctor's this morning? It looks so sore and distressing 😢

gertrudemortimer · 10/08/2022 09:44

Hi sorry for not updating, yesterday was a bad day I felt so deflated. I saw a different gp she's prescribed me fexofenadine 4x per day and she took photos. She's requested to get my care moved from where I work to where I live as it's much closer. I am regretting that now as my friend has just been plied with steroids and antihistamines to control her allergic reaction as the allergy team won't give her an appt date. She's been suffering for 13 weeks! She couldn't believe I'd already had a biopsy.

It got so bad last night but the fexofenadine seems to have stopped it in its tracks overnight thank god! It's difficult to get photos that show it as the spots are still small.

OP posts:
gertrudemortimer · 10/08/2022 09:51

These might be clearer. The bit that's raised was the first bit to start with these little spots last week

gertrudemortimer · 10/08/2022 09:54

@eggsandbaconeveryday I really don't think it's shingles but the way I'd describe is looking just like shingles but over my entire body. It doesn't fit with how shingles behaves unfortunately

eggsandbaconeveryday · 10/08/2022 10:45

have you been tested for Monkey pox ? From those other photos is not shingles

picklemewalnuts · 10/08/2022 11:50

You can get into a spiral with allergy reactions though- it's not inadequate to treat them solely with antihistamine. It may well be enough to short circuit it, once you know what works.

You quite literally react to the fact you are reacting!

Shock

I just looked at some pics of monkey pox and it does look like it, doesn't it?

picklemewalnuts · 10/08/2022 13:21

I don't think so! The images I'm seeing are more clusters of individual pox, rather than areas of rash.

gertrudemortimer · 10/08/2022 19:26

I'm not sure nobody has mentioned monkey pox to me, from the photos online it seems to be very big individual blisters.

No it doesn't.

picklemewalnuts · 10/08/2022 20:21

I wouldn't let monkey pox worry you, OP. It looks nothing like it, and you'd know if a 'close' contact had it.

gertrudemortimer · 11/08/2022 00:02

I'll post a photo now of the same arm I took a photo of earlier. My back is so painful I can't sleep it's like it's burnt it's oozing some kind of liquid now. I've had 4x fexofenadine today stayed out of the sun used anti itch cream. What else can I do? I'll be ringing someone again tomorrow god knows who!

Back to the GP as it's spreading and getting worse. Squeakiest wheel gets the oil.
