What is this rash? Pic

For the love of god I turned 30 last week and my body is broken. Incase any of this is relevant I'll put down each ailment if someone has a magic pill I can take to fix it all.

Beginning with December, dodgy long heavy periods, pain during sex, gynae said I had a bulky uterus, stomach hard and uncomfortable, very bad smell from inside vagina mainly during periods and after but still a smell every day that is 'off'. Sti tests negative had ultrasound scan last week, still waiting to find out what is what with that.

Last week, small rash started on bum thought I'd scratched it somehow, gradually the rash has spread to both bum cheeks and my thighs. Feels like little raised pin pricks at first but then they get bigger and join up. Sore and itchy at the same time, none have popped or had anything come out. Never had a rash like it.

Few days after the rash I notice I have very strong smelling urine did a urine dip that I had at home it was positive for nitrites and protein but not leukocytes. Gp questionnaire to get AB's was rejected because my only symptoms is the smell and the amount of urine is quite a lot more than usual but no pain or burning etc. HELP. I'm taking in urine samples tomorrow (how small are the tubes now!?) but just so curious about this rash too if anyones had anything similar

All these wannabe drs. You need to het a physical appointment so a Dr can thoroughly examine it. Push for this!

She saw a doctor yesterday. People are just offering their experience because seeing the doctor yesterday didn’t help much.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions I'm googling every single one but nothing so far seems to match it.

If it was bacterial would the antibiotics I'm taking reduce it? I'm taking metronidazole and another one for suspected BV I've forgotten the name.

I'm working today but I think I'll take a trip to the minors unit if the pharmacist doesn't have a solid idea as I'm worried about using a cream incase it makes it worse.

I slept so badly last night it burns constantly and stings when I touch it or lay on it the skin is very hot too.

When you visit the gp or any doctor about it make sure they understand how badly it’s affecting you. And make it known that it’s affecting your sleep which is also messing with your mental health. If you mention it’s having knock-on consequences they will be more likely to do something, otherwise they might turn you away until it gets even worse.

throwaway78537 · 30/07/2022 15:18

Hi OP, with a rash on the buttocks and protein in the urine I would be wondering about Henoch-Schonlein purpura. Although I wouldn't have expected the rash to itch and burn, so perhaps not. Do you have any joint pain or swelling?

gertrudemortimer · 30/07/2022 15:35

@Sandyshor3 good point I do tend to minimise!

@throwaway78537 I've had a look and I'm not sure if it's that as my rash is raised and they turn in to like lesions. You did give me an idea though as my uti sample came back as been positive for e-coli. I wonder if it could have infected my skin, it's bizarre both things happened at the same time!

That is bad. GP has really let you down.

BobbyBleu · 30/07/2022 16:33

How is it now? Any better or worse? It looks very sore.

gertrudemortimer · 30/07/2022 18:27

I've just been to the walk in centre he said it seems like an allergic reaction to him and to continue with the anti histamines. He's prescribed me a steroid cream and a moisturising cream

gertrudemortimer · 30/07/2022 18:59

I've just shown the pharmacist and she thinks it's a skin infection not an allergic reaction which I also think is the case. She's told me to go back to the gp and ask them to take a sample to find out what it is and how to treat it.

E coli can't infect skin, no

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 30/07/2022 20:40

Sorry I haven’t read the whole thread but has anyone suggested HSP?

Octopuscrazy · 30/07/2022 22:38

Still looks like shingles. Even more on your latest photo. You need some aciclovir tablets. They should ideally be taken within three days of the rash appearing.

TokenGinger · 30/07/2022 22:42

unicormb · 29/07/2022 21:30

Looks exactly like shingles to me. I've had it three times so I know it when I see it.

I've had shingles a good few times, and enough times to know that it can't be present on two sides of the body. It also wouldn't spread like this - it comes out of one nerve ending, not multiple, so doesn't spread across such a large area like OP's has.

smooththecat · 30/07/2022 22:47

Have you ruled out diabetes? Family member was critically ill with it before it finally got diagnosed. Main first symptom was a rash. Not offering medical advice btw, just something to rule out.

smooththecat · 30/07/2022 22:52

Scabies would have itching on the palms and soles fyi.

WhenPushComesToShove · 30/07/2022 22:53

Have a look at this: www.verywellhealth.com/best-treatment-for-hives-83237

pleasestoprainingplease · 31/07/2022 10:49

Sorry. I haven't read the full thread properly. But perhaps pityriasis rosea? I had something that looked similar over my chest and abdomen.

I really hope whatever it is it goes soon. How uncomfortable and miserable for you.

Unwavering721 · 31/07/2022 11:03

Have you been abroad recently? Or had a hotel stay?

Do you have pets? Or been to a farm/outdoors etc recently?

Unwavering721 · 31/07/2022 11:06

Infections like strep throat or UTI can cause hives. I think it looks like hives.

Yarnasaurus · 31/07/2022 11:54

It really doesn't look like hives.

gertrudemortimer · 31/07/2022 15:05

Well this post is going to be very identifying for anyone that knows me. I work in a hospital on an acute ward and a colleague asked the consultant for me (as I'm mortified with it been my work) he sent me to same day emergency care ward and I had two doctors look and go through everything. They didn't have a clue what it is but they clerked me as an outpatient and did my bloods they mentioned taking medical photographs too. Neither of them have seen anything like it. I wanted to stick around incase they needed me back for photos but I'm going home early. I should get the results in a few hours. Hopefully I'll get the right treatment now

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 31/07/2022 15:19

So glad you've had it looked at! Mind you I had two doctors umming and ahhing over ds's hand, foot and mouth while I was telling them what it was ( they both looked about 12 😉) so don't hold your breath OP 😂

gertrudemortimer · 31/07/2022 15:56

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor oh I know! Some times they are really hopeless it doesn't leave you feeling very confident does it but they're only human. After the out of hours gp yesterday I felt quite confused about what to do but I'm glad I've got numerous opinions and soldiered on!
