For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Tax return day. Must do it. Can't do it, don't want to. Have to find some complicated password and my hand keeps wavering around mumsnet games (which may have ruined my life)

ZippiBabes · 16/01/2008 10:32

i have a cold which is very crossmaking...next task mis to locate and accuse th eperson i believe gave it me

banana fruit juice oats and granola

i am not going to brick laying

i am going to worry about stuff instead

can't decide whether to tackle things or stay in bed as i feel fairly crap

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 10:41

thank you for gold star, it's nice and shiny.
I am going to try it for a day or so in private so no-one can mock my shame when I fail.

Cappuccino · 16/01/2008 11:00

onebat you must stay

you know you are amongst friends

I am just starting a classic books thread you must come to that too

we are all about the self improvement

I am actually eating a banana. This is an amazing thing because I have got into a real routine of coffee and chocolate at this time in the morning (oh stop fretting it was Divine chocolate)

but it Must Stop.

Boco · 16/01/2008 11:06

My tax return attempts have come to sudden halt as can't remember my self assessment password so had to have it sent in the post in 7 days. Oh well.

One bat you can't really fail here. If you're not doing well you just gloss over it all with talk of cardigans or cheese.

wombling · 16/01/2008 11:10

Hello all,

Boco, you're back! Lovely to see you. How was it was it fabulous? Did you have lots of wafting about in cafes/on the beach/siestas?

Have had raisins, banana and pear so far.

Boco · 16/01/2008 11:12

Hello Wombling - yes, there was wafting, lots of siestas, lots of cafes, plus a volcano and some swimming, and some tapas and some rock pools and lots of sunshine, it was very very lovely.

Cappuccino · 16/01/2008 11:13

Boco darling

you must end all this stress

join me in April and we will do next year's tax return

I do it super early and then laugh at all my friends come January

ha ha ha I go and they hate me for it

wombling · 16/01/2008 11:23

Boco I am soo glad you had a good time, sounds fab.

Onebat, yes, please stay, and I have been meaning to start a Georgette Heyer appreciation thread for us, but have not got round to it, will do it now, but am at work, so may not post lots today!

MrsCarrot · 16/01/2008 11:30

Oh bugger, devised a thread title in the night thqat combined intestines, rhubarb and raspberries for zippi but I'm too late

DH has gone to Prague for work and I had a smear test this morning. Feels like some imbalance there.

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 12:07

Ok lovely am trying to do some work today tho. Total failure yesterday.

Have had tomatoes.

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 12:09

damn did I say tomatoes? I meant onions.

wombling · 16/01/2008 12:15

OBM,

Have started thread

Boco · 16/01/2008 12:21

Oh Cap i wish i was better at things - I got it in April and thought there is no way i'm going to leave this until the last moment like last year - i will do it maybe tomorrow. And that thought has been buzzing around ever since, occasionally surfacing and giving me pangs of dread, then i suppress it and it goes away for a bit. And now look! I'll be doing it literally at the last minute now. The self assessment helpline person had a disapproving tone i'm sure she did, about the whole losing password at the last minute.

TigerFeet · 16/01/2008 12:28

[sneaks in]

am back on the F&V wagon after a shocking new year

onebatmother · 16/01/2008 13:02

Is there a mumsnetnanny software thing that I can install to prevent me from getting sucked in?
I Must Do Work.

Very large carrot
lots cherry tomatoes
banana

TooTicky · 16/01/2008 13:07

TooTicky · 16/01/2008 13:08
