Not good new regarding Peter

MadEyeMisdee · 15/07/2007 09:17

I am sobbing as i type this.

Peter is very ill. there is some damage to his brain, there is a real possibility he wont recover completly this time. The peter I married appears to have gone. Sometimes he comes back, its very distressing.

Hospital team are having a meeting on thursdasy to discuss emergency transplant list. He may be suspended for a few weeks, but as yet we dont know.

I have been told he may not get through transplant as he is very very ill. but for now we need to try and stay positive. Its very hard.

I havent told the children, i cant.

I want a happy ending, but its so far out of reach.

Sparkly- do you know- those that said something before can just shut up. Give MD the money- she'll need it for visiting better back at Harefield and to try and giv her girls a normal ish life.

good idea for you to collect bt i do think that if anyone disagrees then the answer to them is don't donate. MD has enough on her plate without worryingn about money

Only just seen this. Thinking of you Misdee. So very sorry. SGK, will be in touch.

mozhe · 15/07/2007 14:51

Hope you have support for yourself....someone impartial for you to talk things through with...I think you said you were under Harefield in a previous post, so feel sure they could organise this for you.
Also the children , even quite young children can be helped by talk and play with someone outside the family...
The very best of luck.

Pixiefish · 15/07/2007 14:52

onlyjoking9329 · 15/07/2007 15:02

Sending best wishes as always.
is there any chance that the damage is temporary? have they done scans? i know i am clutching at straws here, i just want things to get better for you, and bloody quickly too.

sparklygothkat · 15/07/2007 15:05

Have spoken to Misdee twice, the damage is defo. showing on the scan, and they have said that even if he gets his heart now, the stroke damage might be too much to get back the peter we know. Misdee is overwelmed with the offers of things and has said that she will use the some of the money raised to take the kids on holiday and then donate the rest.

MaccaMacca · 15/07/2007 15:09

give her hug from me [mellow] xx

Pinkchampagne · 15/07/2007 15:10

Oh poor poor misdee. I wish there was something we could do.

noddyholder · 15/07/2007 15:12

Thre is always hope sparkly. My heart was severly damaged by dialysis and the doctors said it was unlikely to improve even with a new kidney (I think they stalled my transplant for this reason)but it has improved and although not to what it was before it is better I pray he gets the new heart asap Send my love to misdee and the girls I am thinking of them alot atm.

ambercat · 15/07/2007 15:14

I'm so, so sorry to hear this Misdee.

You and Peter are in my thoughts. xx

onlyjoking9329 · 15/07/2007 15:14

This must be so hard for all of you SGK.
AS you probably know my DH has severe memory loss and confusion both linked to his MS/brain tumour. He won't get these things back, but over the last few months we have found ways to live with it all.
I am hoping that peter will get a transplant soon, i will keep my fingers crossed until thurday.
