I am sobbing as i type this.

Peter is very ill. there is some damage to his brain, there is a real possibility he wont recover completly this time. The peter I married appears to have gone. Sometimes he comes back, its very distressing.

Hospital team are having a meeting on thursdasy to discuss emergency transplant list. He may be suspended for a few weeks, but as yet we dont know.

I have been told he may not get through transplant as he is very very ill. but for now we need to try and stay positive. Its very hard.

I havent told the children, i cant.

I want a happy ending, but its so far out of reach.

Thinking of you, Peter and your girls x

MadEyeMisdee · 15/07/2007 17:28

i'm back from harefield, am at my parents house.

peter is in a bad state. they were going to do an echo this afternoon to check for any more clots.

the talk of emergency list is getting serious. he has a matter of weeks, as he wants to give up at times.

oh misdee

So what kind of list was he on before?

emkana · 15/07/2007 17:31

What I mean is that it seems incredible that the way his life has been up till now he wasn't regarded as an emergency already.

noddyholder · 15/07/2007 17:33

I think that too emkana who could be more urgent?

MadEyeMisdee · 15/07/2007 17:34

i know emkana, but its the way it works. he has beden left too late IMO to have a normalish life after transplant. his recovery will be harder, longer and more complex. they arent hopefull he will be pull through transplant.

Sad
noddyholder · 15/07/2007 17:36

Why didn't they consider him urgent before now misdee have they ever told you?please don't give up we are all praying like mad for him xx

Mercy · 15/07/2007 17:38

oh no

tuppy · 15/07/2007 17:38

Thinking of you and your family. Please use the money completely freely; you know how many hundreds of people are completely on your side.

Lean on us, even if it's to the extent of dipping into the fund to buy silly sunhats for your girls, or more icecream than you'd usually allow them. Tell them it's from daddy, which in a way it will be.

DrNortherner · 15/07/2007 17:45

Oh no Misdee

Don't know what to say. Keep strong.

IIRC the lack of urgent status was at least partly political- too many urgent receipts already at Harefield (the crappest reason of all)

Spidermama · 15/07/2007 17:49

Oh Misdee like so many others on this thread I don't know what to say but I wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and Peter and hoping and praying.

How incredibly tough for you and for the children.

xx

ggglimpopo · 15/07/2007 17:49

What do you need in terms of practical help or support Misdee? Do you need help with the children to free you up? What is happening with the holiday? Is there anyone who could go in your place?

Kbear · 15/07/2007 17:53

I have no new words for you misdee, just my prayers and thoughts as ever.

Just spoken to Sarah, although she couldnt say much as the girls were around. She meant to be going on holiday with the girls but our parents are going to help her.
She knows your all thinking of her.
