I have a massive fear of bleeding between my periods.

I check every half hour to an hour daily.
Since having my DD 20 Months ago I tend to spot at certain times in between periods.

Iv had GPs look at me, 12 months ago scans in my ovaries (all clear) 12 mi the ago a smear (all clear) and a gynecologists loom at me and say I look fine, its just a hormone imbalance.

I tend to spot in the middle of my cycle and then I have ovalatiom discharge and then I don't spot until I have my period.

This month tho, its 7 days before my period is due (I have 35day cycles) and I have the smallest ever streaks of pale pink blood in my discharge. Iv inky seen it because iv shine a bloody torch on it. It's happened twice in the last two days.

I'm so worried. Every time I ot to my GP she says 'Your smear is clear, The gyno said it was a hormonal imbalance....what do you want me to do?!...she gave me the pill about 5 months ago but I havbt taken it as I'm scared it will develop into cancer. I saw her again last week and ahe just said 'try taking the pill'.

I can't live with this fear anymore. I'm 27 and its literally taking over my thoughts. I check and I check and I check every day...some times I even have to were sudocream because of the repetitive wiping to check.

Why have I got light pink streaks when I wipe? 7 days before period is due ? I just want to go to sleep to stop the worry

Ok so I had my period... lasted around 8 days... i have still got little lines of blood when I wipe but I'm hoping that these are remainments of my period.

I took the pill on the first day of my period and been taking it every night since. My period was a little longer her this cycle then most but maybe that could be the pill?

Oh no ... there is more blood when I wipe, I thought this would stop when I finished my period and I'm now taking the pill?!

What am I going to do... I'm checking every five mins and I'm shaking.

Bump

My GP said give it 3 months on the pill. Does she mean I would still bleed due to a hormonal imbalance and it could take 3 month for it all to settle on the pill?

When I saw the gynecologists last year I told hwr that I sometimes get blood in the toilet after a period and she called it remainments of my period... this is when I wipe tho. Oh no

What if I have been diagnosed all wrong. I have been to the GP about three/four times with his in the last year and she examined me last month... but missed something? You hear of story's where the patient knows something is wrong but get wrongly diagnosed, what if that's me? My smear was clear but it had blood on it because I had just had my baby and I was still irregular bleeding

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 15:23

I feel like taking the whole pack of bloody pills to stop bleeding. But I know that isn't going to work. I could have been wrongly diagnosed couldn't I.

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 15:39

I'm trying hard to rationalise that this is still to do with hormones...the end of ny period. It is hard to do because I really don't want to miss something so serious by thinking it is something else.

pankhurst80 · 20/08/2016 15:47

Try to relax and do NOT take a whole pack of pills! My period takes a long time to start and stop sometimes and it will definitely take your body time to get used to the pill, try not to panic x

pankhurst80 · 20/08/2016 15:48

I've just been reading the thread, what happened with MIND or with a referral for health anxiety? I hope you're getting some help/support

PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 15:54

I got a letter of them yesterday saying I need to phone them for an assement so I I'll do that on Monday. Thankyou for replying. I wont take a full pack of pills I'm just feeling frustrated and scared

When you say it takes time to finish how longish?

OP posts:
pankhurst80 · 20/08/2016 16:13

Well at the moment I get really heavy periods for a couple of days, then a gradual fizzle out over a few days. Then I've been getting spotting/bleeding a week later and again around ovulation. I'm older than you though (36) but I totally sympathise as I worried that there was something wrong too. However I've also had things checked and my doc thinks it's hormonal too. Honestly I think hormones have got a lot to answer for! Mine have changed since I had a child. I think if you've had things checked out then try not to worry and try to get some help with your anxiety.

PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 16:25

Yes mine were like yours the previous months. Now I have taken the pill at tghe beginning i hope d all this daft bleeding when I wiped would stop. I hate it and it terrifies me Sad

PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 16:27

I cant stop checking. Now my wee is stinging me because every time I check I have a little wee to see if it will drag any blood down. I'm so fed up

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 16:41

I check all the time. Never in my life have a i been so fed up with something. I'm sick of living with the fear of checking but keep checking. I check in supermarket toilets. I pull the car over to check. I call in public toilets to check. Everytime I check I'm shaking at what I will find on the tissue. I have had enough of this mad bleeding and just wish I could have all my bits and pieces removed. everything... but that probably woulent even work. I'll have a break down because of all this soon. I'm checking and checking and checking

PollyPerky · 20/08/2016 16:58

Pink, please stop checking.
Every time you want to check, find something else to do- even if it's coming onto MN and asking for people to talk to you.
Try to wait for 20 minutes, then 30 minutes, then an hour.
You CAN do this!
If you don't want to come to MN, do something else like phoning a friend, cleaning your teeth- anything to stop yourself checking.

You do not have an illness . You do have a MH condition.

I thought you were taking the Pill to regulate your cycles? If so, why aren't you completing the whole pack? I'm confused. Is it the mini pill or the combined pill?

PollyPerky · 20/08/2016 17:00

The other thing is- even if you weren't having periods and 'had it all removed' you would transfer your health anxiety to another part of your body.

Phone MIND and also talk to your GP again- you need proper help.

sadie9 · 20/08/2016 17:04

Hi Pinkpearls, what is the name of the pill you are on? Some of the progesterone only or mini pills, don't suit some people and can cause the sort of bleeding you describe.

PollyPerky · 20/08/2016 17:13

If it's the POP (mini pill) a known side effect is spotting. This may take a few months to settle down - as PP said.

PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 18:03

Levest its called.... I came on my period last Thursday so took the first pill then so I have taken 9 pills so far.

I hav'nt a clue if it's the mini pill all I know is my go gave me that one as my mum has a history of blood clots

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 18:09

Levest 150/30 coated tablets Confused

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 18:16

I have just looked and it's the combined pill. Could this be the bits that are left of my period?

OP posts:
PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 18:36

Iv been online and it says to persist with it for three months to regulate.

When I was pregnant I had 'ptylaism' ... excessive production of saliva for eight months. I produced LOTS constantly. Nothing could be prescribed to me. It tasted like sour milk. When my waters broke... the sour milk taste went... when I had baby the saliva dried up. Almost instantly. Therefore I must have been experiencing serious hormone related things.... just saying....so I don't check...

OP posts:
PollyPerky · 20/08/2016 19:05

yes it's off your period.

PinkPearls20 · 20/08/2016 19:09

Thankyou Polly. I like you Smile.

I'm going to try and persist with the pill for three months. Like the GP told me to do...when she looked very board and very unconcerned with me.
