Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
VoodooChickenhead · 19/03/2007 16:31

meatballs rule.

made up with dh, got a nice card for mothers day and the weather here is crazy. Snow, sleet thunder, lightening, gales... and warm sunshine.

Just watched de Niro in Casino as weather too cold and windy and wet to dare go out in. It's a great film, I turned dd's head away when anything gruesome happened!

trying to figure out how to cut and trim pics on the pc, dd's passport pic shows dh's hands holding her up and its not allowed. oh well, we have breaded haddock or chicken kievs for tea depends what dh fancies
His blasted parents are away in Austria for a bit...nice break for us all

Jennster · 19/03/2007 18:18

We are havin Beef Olives from the farmer's market on Sat for dinner tonight with mash, peas, brocolli and gravy. DD not getting gravy. Went swimming this afternoon and dd actually enjoyed herself.

DeputyMacDawg · 20/03/2007 11:32

Not having fun

Faffing computer developed a virus
Tried all last night to fix it, came back to it today and it's now decided to let me MN again .

Scared it's all going to go tits up again, though.

dd had another virus yesterday, diarrhoea and temp spike of 40 . Luckily fever broke by bedtime.

If you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know bloody 'puter buggered.

VoodooChickenhead · 20/03/2007 12:15

Play this, it'll cheer you up. warning...it's hard. but very cute and very addictive.

worleythewisp · 20/03/2007 21:33

ds2 is ill. he has a temp. 37.9 the nursey said.... i dont have a thermometer but hs head and arms etc all feel really hot to the touch and his ear is glowing. so hes topped up with calpol and now fast asleep after a long bf.

we had chillie with brown rice and some slated doritos. yummy. ds1 has tomaote sauce rice, that he invented, he get his rice and covers it in tomato sauce. it looks digusting and i hate tomato sauce, but at least hes eating the rice up.

we were so bust today i only got a 20 minute lunch break so i have claimed 40 mins in lieu. im saving it all up to get another day off.

we did some child protection course this morning. it was so depressing,, learning all about abuse types, it was so sad, but its best we learn and take it on board so we can alert the various services.

worleythewisp · 20/03/2007 21:37

my sister in law is sending me some new crocs.black ones so i can wear them for work she sent ds2 some for xmas but i think it will be many many many months before they fit him!!!

VoodooChickenhead · 21/03/2007 11:52

just got back from playgroup...admitted to the head woman that didnt realize I had to pay so I owe them about £5...
how embarrassing....
dd had great fun in a walker and her new shoes from tesco were admired by all, as they match her funky tesco jeans...

VoodooChickenhead · 21/03/2007 11:53

I saw another ridiculous HV yesterday who seemied to insinuate I should be feeding breast milk more than twice a day, or at least topping up with formula!!!!
cant keep up with them.
ps. I am NOT giving dd any formula!!!

she is 17.9lbs now, and above her chart so they can sod off.

VoodooChickenhead · 21/03/2007 11:55

I also burned my hand yesterday getting the pork joint out of the oven, god burns REALLY hurt. Its on the palm of my hand where the thumb joint joins the hand. Its about 4cm long and 2cm wide. the worst Ive ever burned myself. Ouch!
Its not so bad today, but it kept me awake for a bit last night.

worleythewisp · 21/03/2007 20:29

ooo symapthy for the burnt hand voodz.
i went thru a stage of burning myself and my thumb stung so much i had to sleep with a cold wet flannel on it as i just couldnt sleep with the stinging.

have you heard of freecycle?
you can advertise things you dont want/need anymore and someone can collect if from you if it takes their fancy?
you can ask for things also. i just saw a swing thats being offered and have asked for it, its to be collected and is about 8-9 miles away but its free and ds1 is going on and on about getting some garden toys.

i will find a link....

worleythewisp · 21/03/2007 20:40

you have to join i think beofe looking up your area, but its worth a look, a bit cheaper than ebay voodoo!!

Jennster · 21/03/2007 20:59

I'm a member of freecycle but not got round to doing anything. It's a really good idea. Have read threads on here about other people offering things but people failing to turn up or being really rude and not saying please or thankyou.

Hope your hand gets better soon voods.

Aren't crocs sweaty? Would love to wear something more comfortable at work, but am not allowed sling backs or open toe shoes. I'm always dropping bottles of stuff out of boxes onto my toes. I wear surgical stockings to stop my varicose veins from getting worse. VERY sexy! Though you can't see them under my trousers.

Gave dd her last breastfeed on Sunday. I can't believe I've finally finished. I've had no probs with engorgement. As for my hormones OMG and I'm leaking all over the show!

VoodooChickenhead · 22/03/2007 15:46

oh my god.
not content with burning my hand, last night I fell down the bottom three stairs - not so serious you may think - but it included falling through a metal babygate...

I landed hard on my bum on the laminate floor...bit my teeth together really hard, jarred my neck and back and have knackered my right arm...got a huge bruise and am now fed up of accidents.

Jennster · 22/03/2007 20:28

Flipping heck Voodoo. Those baby gates are crap though. I have tw&tted my thighs on those things that many times I've got a permanent bruise.

VoodooChickenhead · 22/03/2007 21:26

Lol at tw&tted

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

got a work do sat. night in Manchester how exciting! Dh babysitting for once!
a posh chinese restaurant in my glad rags.
Just what the doctor ordered.

Just spoke to my sister...she's started getting the munchies big-time, just coming up to 10wks now, she goes downstairs in the middle of the night to eat biscuits!!

worleythewisp · 22/03/2007 21:59

9 months on and i still have the munchiesalthough i just ate my first bar of chocolate in 5 days i was so pleased with myself.
i've had weird crampy stomach ahe today which comes and goes, i told dp i was getting contractions!! and then i thought maybe i've got appendecitits, im such a hyperchondriac (and i cant spell apologies to voods in case she's tutting at it)

crocs dont get sweaty, i thought they would but they dont. htye are just really cumfy.

we had a crap stairgate when ds1 was little, so crap he somehow pulled it the bottom upwards so he could crawl nderneath and then fell down the stairs. we were downstairs and all we heard was thud thud thud. we have never got up and ran to the hall so quickly. we took him to a&e but he was fine. he had a few grazes as we had just took the hall carpet up so he didnt have a soft landing at all. although the grazes scarred in his back and i cant help but notice it when hes got no tshirt on and feel really bad.

Jennster · 23/03/2007 20:05

Had a day off today with dh. We didn't set the alarm and woke at 8.40! Can't believe dd didn't wake up before us. We took her to nursery, went to B&Q to check out showers, waterbutt connecting kits, and bought some plants. We chose some tiles for our bathroom, and spent a couple of hours tidying it up this afternoon before we collected dd from nursery. Feel like we've got loads done, even though we've argued loads.

worleythewisp · 25/03/2007 22:55

dear all
hope you all have had good weekends.
our friends came over last night and i had a bottle of bacardi breezer. thw first drink i've had scince i found out i was pregnant with ds2!!!!!

unfortunatley the eve was a bit depressing as we suddenly heard our next door neighbour screaming hysterically as her husband was having a mini stroke, so we jumper over the fence and ran in to the house and had to call 999. we thought she was screaming as her dh has lung cancer and was then dying. which luckily he wasnt but after coughing blood up everywhere the paramedics took him to hospital, the drs have only given him about 12 weeks left whcih is horrible and sad. it didnt help that she had been drinking gin and tonics all evening and understandably fell apart when this all happend. so after that we got back in to house, i finished my luverly watermelon breezor (i felt like i was about 20 again drinking that!!) and finished watching snakes on a plane. which i have to say was complete crap!!!!!

so, everythings ready for work in the morniong and im now off to bed. it will be hard getting up an hour early though. i should have gone off ages ago, but wasnt really that tired. hence why im on here now!!

Jennster · 26/03/2007 11:24

2 more garden centres later and we now have a fig bush, a hawthorn tree, a mountain ash tree, a plum bush and various perennial plants in the garden. Some bargain lupins, delphiniums and poppies. Not as bargainsome as if I had forethought and sowed the seeds myself, but then it isn't saving money when you forget about watering them and they all die anyway! My mum is good with seeds so I leave that to her.

All this fresh air and sunshine (I caught the sun on Saturday and had flushed cheeks all evening) has given the blooming feeling I should have got 10 weeks ago! Flipping heck I'm 23 weeks and so nearly in the 3rd trimmester. This is where I'm meant to feel knackered again.

I have a nice sounding lady picking up a wheelbarrow from us today via freecycle. Wasn't as difficult as it sounded. She placed a wanted just as I was about to post a for offer so all done! DH and I are really starting to think about economising for when I am on mat leave.

Our aims this month are to;

Empty wine cupboard (not me) by not buying anymore.....

Not buy sandwiches at work from the butty shop and always take in some soup to prevent snacking.

Use up cupboard stuff that has been in there for ages.

Not waste any fruit or veg....spanish ommeletes here we come.

What do you think?

Next job to declutter house by ebaying and freecycling.

DeputyMacDawg · 26/03/2007 12:58

Hello everyone!!
Computer de-bugged and I am back on MN !!!

Glad everyone coped without me , although that is a little too much excitement, Worley! A medicinal Breezer definitely called for after that.

dd conked out after M&T, so I'm using the time productively .

Catch you all later, x

VoodooChickenhead · 26/03/2007 15:22

well howdy to the mdog, welcome home

I have mopped the kitchen and hall floors! phew. and been out on a lovely stroll with dd, it is hot so everyone is just wearing t'shirts! I kept my jumper on though, and virgin media just called to say they are ripping us off (long stroy) so dh has them to deal with when he gets home.

Had some fabulous bedroom action last night my bits suddenly don't hurt so much any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VoodooChickenhead · 26/03/2007 15:23

I ma still off the chocolate/cake/crisps but have started doing dd and me a buttery crumpet every so often...

Jennster · 26/03/2007 17:45

Hello everybody. We've been swimming again this afternoon, and although I didn't actually get to swim, we did lots of bouncing.

Dd sitting in kitchen with a bucket on her head.

VoodooChickenhead · 27/03/2007 15:46
