OP posts:
VoodooBiltong · 13/01/2007 23:11

ha! check out my thread on being freaked out at toddler group.....in the 'chat' topic...the MN called 'soupdragon' has just got my goat, rather!

gawd I hate MN when you want advice/support and you get a bizarre lecture in return, asking why the hell you are asking the damn question in the first place!!!!FFS vent vent vent
ARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH

VoodooBiltong · 14/01/2007 15:42

soupy has clamed down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dh watching tv downstairs with dd she is so happy and jolly today,

ps SHE SLEPT 7pm-8am in her own room!!!!!
fabulicious or what, eh!!!
no problems, it was us waking her up when we went to bed at night I think when she shared our room!!!!!

Macdog · 14/01/2007 16:12

Glad to hear her first night went so well.

Assume by weird Kevin Spacey film you mean K-PAX. Mind you, he's not famed for his sensible films .

dh spoiled me today by taking care of wee one while I went back to bed for hour and a half. He's a kind soul really

I'm now going to look for your thread.....

OP posts:
VoodooBiltong · 14/01/2007 20:21

no, it werent KPAX (??!!)

it were the shipping news or something like that.

I loved him in American Beauty, but the best best best film to see is Cold Mountain...I hated Renee Zellwegger and Jude Law till I saw them in that.

now I find myself talking like Renee's character 'Ruby Twos'
and singing 'Ruby with the eyes that sparkle'

worleygig · 14/01/2007 21:07

I HAVE GIVEN DS2 SOME 7 MONTHS OLD FOOD ALREADY, IT WAS SME BABY RICE CAKES, ALTHOUGH THE COW AND GATE ONES SAY FROM 6 MONTHS AND THE ORGANIX ONES SAY 7 MONTHS??

opps sorry thats my bloody ds1 been typing on here again, i look up and its all capitals, i dont know why he cant type normaly? theres too much to delete and start again.

anyway, i got the organix ones as they were apple flavour and he loves them. andi got him some organix sticks which are carrot flavour( dont really taste of carrot but there you go) and are like giant wotsits, he holds them him self and eats them. he can hold and eat a whole biscoti biscuit thing to.

we walked to the park today, dp been at work all day and took the car, so i made ds2 take his scooter, or he would of just sat in and watched tv all day long. then we did some of his chemisrty experiments that he got with his chemistry set for xmas. we made a volcano!! and got larva to erupt from it!! what you can do with bicaronate soda, vinegar and red food cououring is amazing.

oh well bacjk to work tomorrow, only a half day again though so not too bad, i still have to get up at 6.30am which is a bummer..

was just reading those funny childbirth stories, i was pmsl!!! i had to read some out loud to dp as i was laughing so loudly..

worleygig · 14/01/2007 21:08

blimey that was a long post, sorry

Macdog · 14/01/2007 22:22

I'm starting a workshop thingy tomorrow.
A sort of build your self-esteem and face the world type of thing

Still, there's a free creche for dd and I get £5.50 a day expenses. On from 9.30-2.30 with a lunch break. 3 days a week for 3 weeks.

Quite looking forward to getting out the house and having some adult interaction.

Jennster · 14/01/2007 22:28

hi Voodoo. I admit I haven't sterilised stuff since DD was about 9 months old, and have never sterilised feeding equipment....but then I am a slummy mummy.

I went to NCT Bumps n Babes and found that quite good. Most of my nct antenatal group went and actually got to know them post birth rather than during the classes (where we were all a bit scared) I have hosted a few and then we did Cruisers and Crawlers when they started to crawl, but that has recently petered out because everybody has just gone back to work full time having had a WHOLE YEAR OFF!!! Me I went back part time at 6 months and managed to get them hosted on days I wasn't working.

Jennster · 14/01/2007 22:33

And bollocks to the age advice on Organix stuff. They put the age limit on because babies of the ages they state aren't feeding themselves yet. Well DD has fed herself solid food since 6 months and had no problems. We didn't give her purees so couldn't see any point in waiting to give her the finger food stuff. Have you tried babybel cheese yet? We are all addicted to it and dd loves it.

Jennster · 14/01/2007 22:40

That workshop sounds good. Just got really depressed about the prospect of no holidays for the forseeable future. Am on holiday all next week, a week in March and half term in May. We've looked at going away for a week in a villa in the sun (is that possible in May?) but can't bring myself to put all that effort in for a week of sobriety without any help. Also looked into a couple of nights in a hotel in UK, but as expensive as a week abroad, and still no fun having to eat early etc. Might have to do a few days of day trips and nice lunches.

VoodooBiltong · 15/01/2007 15:17

holidays become v complicated with little ones, eh!

I am worrying already about how I will keep my sanity if we take dd away with our friends...they will want to do all the stuff we used to do before dd.
Friends with no kids can be annoying because they just dont understand.
Also I am not working and am now on the unpaid bit of leave so we are beyond broke. hope they understand we wont be able to afford to do a lot of stuff...

Went to the hairdresser this morning firsttime in 9 months (shocking split ends!)
Ended up having a funky fringe and lots of layers so now I feel trendy. Couldnt afford any colour, but maybe next time i will go a milk-chocolate shade...

dd slept another full night 7pm-9am astonishing.

VoodooBiltong · 15/01/2007 15:19

the workshop should help you MDoggie-dog, youll meet lots of people who feel similarly to you and it will give you common ground.

it is the hennight on sat night in Birmingham...cowgirls theme.
exciting?!
vaguely panicked more like!

VoodooBiltong · 15/01/2007 15:21

god since we took the cot out of our room, the full-length mirror is now fully view-able.

I am so bloody fat.

I have put it on like a barrel on my hips and thighs in particular.

Jesus I am crap at dieting too, I just had a fairly good day until I ate 10 cadbury chocolate biscuits out of a selection box I found left over from xmas.

oh my god.

VoodooBiltong · 15/01/2007 15:38

bloody ell take a look at the freaked out by toddler group thread now!
Fillyjonk has joined the fray...

snowleopard seems nice, though

VoodooBiltong · 15/01/2007 15:39

here is the thread in question...

Macdog · 15/01/2007 17:29

Been trying to balance the opinions on yer thread, but am finding myself getting upset by it all now. I tend to take this stuff personally, though. (Even though I know I shouldn't)
What started off as a lighthearted remark has turned really nasty.

Are you ok about it all?

Workshop quite fun. dd survived her 1st morning in a creche despite having a hacking cough and a touch of the runs. Mind you, someone else was changing her !!!

Hen night will be fun... Look out Birmingham it's Voodoo !!!!

hi voodz, i just read your toddler group thread and it does seem as if they kind of jumped down your throat a bit. i never did the m&t club wih ds1 as i wasnt brave enough to be honest, but now 9m thinking i will with ds2. only because when ds1 started school most of the mums knew each other and i didnt know anyone -- and neither did ds1, wll i tell a lie he knew 2 of the other children as they went to the same nursery as him so those 3 children were all in the same boat, bless them. i felt soo guilty as i thought i should have made the effort really and gone , even just once a month at least there would have been familiar faces i supose.

where bouts in brum are you going?

And talk about putting on weight, i went to the gym after work, then joined dp with both ds1&2 in the pool and felt a bit better as i had eaten 8 nice biscuits for dinner, ('cause i was so hungry when i got in from work and just stuffed what ever i could while i bf ds2!! even though i ate fruit at break today at work)(but im used to eating crap every 2 hours for the past 6 months!!) anyway, ds1 and dp had decided between themselves that we would have KFC for tea!! i couldnt talk them out of it, and even though i really dont like it, i ended up eating it as it was easier than cooking tea for just me when we got home.

So now i will have to go again tomorrow i think.

VoodooBiltong · 16/01/2007 10:56

hmmmmm
yes, MDog, I take it a bit personally too, they did this on my parent and child carpark spaces thread...it ended up a fight over the definitions of special needs.
Some people just come on MN to be nasty, anyway, who gives a stuff? Weve got the best thread right here.

I have a mental list of Mnters who have peed me off, it's up to 3 now!

dd slept another 12 hour night... I cant believe it. Well as we are away on the weekend, yes for the cowgirl fiasco , that will probably cock her routine right up.

its being so cheerful keeps me going.

Oh well, I am meeting some old pals this afternoon and it is the dreaded toddler group tomorrow...I think i will follow the advice and arrive late, take a book, and leave early...
avoiding any of those mean toddler mums!!!!!!!!

Macdog · 16/01/2007 15:34
